As the issue with Jurgen Klopp becomes apparent, Liverpool sent a warning to Ruben Amorim.

The club is interested in Ruben Amorim, according to former Liverpool winger Steve McManaman, as they get ready to live without Jurgen Klopp, who is set to leave Anfield this summer.

Steve McManaman has forewarned Liverpool that replicating Jurgen Klopp’s legendary persona will be the most difficult task facing their incoming manager.

In recent weeks, Ruben Amorim, the head coach of Sporting Lisbon, has shown himself to be a formidable contender to follow Klopp, and the Reds are reportedly focusing their attention on him.

Amorim, 39, has excelled in Lisbon and is poised to win Sporting’s second Portuguese championship. Although McManaman finds Amorim’s qualifications impressive, he worries that Klopp’s charm and personality make him a difficult act to follow.

Speaking at the official launch of Panini’s England Sticker Collection, McManaman stated of Amorim, “He’s got a very good reputation in Portugal.” Sporting won the title thanks to him, and they’re vying for it this year. Liverpool is a higher league than Sporting, despite the latter’s size.

“We all know it’s going to be a difficult job for whoever comes in but the number-crunchers, the data specialists, they’ll be doing their homework behind the scenes.”

    Steve McManaman

“Liverpool are in a really great place,” he continued. With the exception of Virgil [van Dijk] and Trent [Alexander-Arnold], I believe almost everyone is under lockdown. The crew will be around for a while, so I don’t think it will be the hardest part. The difficult task will be in replacing Jurgen’s charm, sense of humour, and ability to connect with Liverpool’s citizens.

“Ruben speaks excellent English, which is incredibly helpful right away. However, I believe that everyone finds it quite challenging to emulate Jurgen in all other respects.”

Michael Edwards has returned to Liverpool, a sign that the team is ready for life beyond Klopp. The former sporting director, who was instrumental in the club’s success under Klopp, has been handed more responsibility in his new position as chief executive of football at Fenway Sport Group.

McManaman believes they will be able to maintain the success Klopp has brought them by appointing Edwards and implementing FSG’s strategy, which includes plans to develop a multi-club ownership model.

He continued, “That’s important because, as we all know, it’s all about how the club move forward,” in reference to FSG’s vision. Pep will eventually depart City, and Mikel Arteta will eventually leave Arsenal. These teams will be well aware of it beforehand, and then it will just be a matter of putting in a new management.

“I believe it’s fantastic that Michael Edwards has returned to Liverpool. They also discuss purchasing additional football teams and creating a football-themed brand. Thus, even though this will be a challenging process, these are extremely exciting times.”

Rúben Amorim is still being watched by Liverpool as a possible new manager. Giants of La Liga Barcelona will also be searching for a new manager at the end of the current campaign.

The clear favourite to become Liverpool’s manager this summer is still Rúben Amorim. After Xabi Alonso ruled himself out of the race, the Sporting CP manager—who had previously been connected to four Premier League teams—became the new front-runner to succeed Jürgen Klopp.

Amorim has not disclosed anything about Anfield’s interest thus far, despite a story this week from Sky Germany claiming that a “verbal agreement” was in place. Although those rumours are regarded as premature, there is no denying that Merseysiders have admiration for the Portuguese.

But it’s not just the Reds that are impressed. Barcelona is reportedly very interested in Amorim and has named him as their first pick to take Xavi’s place when he leaves this summer, according to The Independent.

The La Liga powerhouses may challenge Liverpool for Amorim’s signing, but if he had to choose between the two teams, former Reds midfielder Steve McManaman thinks it should be an easy choice for Amorim.

“With no disrespect to Barcelona, but the financial situation is a complete mess. Although Liverpool is currently a better offer for any aspiring manager, Barca is a sizable team with a rich history, he told Betfred.

“Next season, Barcelona’s salary cap will be reduced once again, so finding players to sign will need magic to keep the books balanced. Right now, Liverpool is in a much healthier situation than Barcelona.

Deco is the sporting director, so it seems sense that Barca would be interested in a Portuguese manager. However, given their current set of constraints and the potential return of Kylian Mbappé, I believe it would be very challenging to get into that club at this time.

“Next season, Real Madrid will be even better if he does. Any manager who wants to succeed at Barcelona will find it considerably more difficult as a result.

Even though Amorim is the front-runner, the Daily Mail claims that talks have not yet started and Liverpool is still investigating its possibilities for replacing Klopp this summer.

According to Liverpool.com; If Amorim decides to leave Sporting this summer, there will be no shortage of offers, Despite being two of the biggest teams in European football, Liverpool and Barcelona are now in opposite locations off the pitch. Even though Barca has some excellent young players on the horizon, Amorim’s transfer business is probably going to be limited if he wants to bolster the team.

An ex-Red said he “would be gutted” to see a “sensational” player depart Liverpool, drawing parallels with the Madrid duo.

Steve McManaman, who called the 26-year-old “absolutely priceless,” said he “would be gutted” to see one player in particular leave Liverpool.

Joe Gomez has been playing for Anfield the longest since Jordan Henderson left for Saudi Arabia in the summer, and he has been playing well lately.

After joining Brendan Rodgers from Charlton in 2015, the adaptable defender has won every major award imaginable while playing on Merseyside.

Gomez is “just as important as the superstars,” according to former ex-Red player McManaman, who recently filled in for the injured Kostas Tsimikas at left back.

He said to Liverpool Echo (via Rousing The Kop) that “I would be gutted if he left because people like Gomez are absolutely priceless to you at a football club.”

    Steve McManaman

“Going back to Real Madrid, they have two players who have been there for more than ten years: Lucas Vasquez and Nacho. They are adored by their teammates, if you ask any of them about their opinions. They remain there because of this.

“Players like that are essential to teams and hold equal importance with superstars.”

The London-born player is a fantastic player when he’s on his game, so we’re happy to see him succeeding right now.

McManaman is right to commend the England international because he’s always eager to lend a hand to the team when needed.

Having played every position in our backline this season, he is currently our sole senior option capable of playing left back because Tsimikas and Andy Robertson are both out.

Gomez, who has been described by Jurgen Klopp as a “sensational footballer” (via Liverpoolfc.com), has not yet scored for the Reds, but in recent weeks he has been coming closer, since his position as a full-back allows him to penetrate dangerous areas higher upfield.

If he could lead us to a win over Newcastle on New Year’s Day, it would be a fantastic way to start 2024—we’ll have to wait and see!

When Wataru Endo and Mohamed Salah will depart Liverpool to play in midseason international competitions, Jurgen Klopp has revealed.

Because of the diverse roster that Klopp assembled at Liverpool, it has frequently happened that important players miss games at the beginning of the year.

Salah, Sadio Mane, and Naby Keita have all missed seasons of the Africa Cup of Nations, which is primarily to blame for that.

However, the Asian Cup this year will add to that, as Japan’s captain is summer signing Endo.

The expectation was that Endo and Salah, who will also serve as Egypt’s captains during their AFCON trip to the Ivory Coast, would be fit for their FA Cup third-round match against Arsenal on January 7.

However, Klopp has stated that the two are anticipated to leave right after Newcastle’s Premier League visit on New Year’s Day.

In his lengthy pre-match press conference on Friday, the manager provided updates to reporters, including Andy Hunter of the Guardian.

When Wataru Endo and Mohamed Salah will depart Liverpool to play in midseason international competitions, Jurgen Klopp

Liverpool may be without Salah and Endo for a while as AFCON takes place from January 13 to February 11 and the Asian Cup from January 12 to February 10.

They will, at minimum, be unable to attend the following four games:

    • Arsenal (A) – FA Cup third round – January 7
    • Fulham (H) – Carabao Cup semi-final – January 10
    • Bournemouth (A) – Premier League – January 21
    • Fulham (A) – Carabao Cup semi-final – January 24

They would miss four further games, including maybe an FA Cup fourth-round tie, if they get all the way to their respective finals.

That would also mean they would not be able to play Burnley (H, Feb. 10), Chelsea (H, Jan. 31), Arsenal (A, Feb. 4), or Brentford (A, Feb. 17).

As things stand, Liverpool will miss at least four games without their leading scorer and a crucial midfield player.

It is not ideal given the state of injuries in Klopp’s team, with Ben Doak, Stefan Bajcetic, Joel Matip, Thiago, and Diogo Jota remaining sidelined, Andy Robertson not yet back in contact training, and all of them long-term absences.

The boss has already hinted at his strategy without Salah, so it will be hoped that Mac Allister and Jota return in time for the FA Cup match at Arsenal.

In the Carabao Cup quarterfinals, Harvey Elliott started on the right wing in the 5-1 victory over West Ham. Dominik Szoboszlai is an additional possibility
