According to reports, Liverpool believes they can win the Premier League, and in order to stay competitive, the Reds are anticipated to add at least two players in January.
Journalist Toby Cudworth claims that with Liverpool aiming high in the Premier League, the Anfield team is looking to bolster their roster during the winter transfer window.
Though Jurgen Klopp’s team has performed admirably in the first eight games of the campaign, it is obvious from looking at the roster that Liverpool will need to make some purchases in January if they hope to contend for the championship.
And given Cudworth’s statement regarding Liverpool’s plans for January, which suggests that the team has started the season well, that could already be in the works.
“Considering Man City’s early setbacks, Liverpool believes they can contend for the championship, so in January, I would anticipate them to try to sign a defensive midfielder and a center back, plus possibly another player, depending on what’s available to them.
“But those are the two areas that, in my opinion, Jurgen Klopp would want to focus on first.
That’s not to say that they didn’t have a summer window by any means—I believe they did.
