The contentious 32-team Club World Cup in 2025 will not include Liverpool. Here's why.

Liverpool’s next opportunity to compete in the competition would not be until 2029 as they would not be participating in the newly expanded Club World Cup in 2025. Many fans will be happy with that.

FIFA is adding games to the schedule in spite of the clear calls for better player welfare. Their most recent idea is a 32-team Club World Cup competition that will begin in 2025.

However, Liverpool has decided not to participate in the inaugural edition of the highly contentious event following FIFA’s confirmation of the qualifying requirements, which permit just two teams per nation to compete.

Only Arsenal could join Man City and Chelsea, who have already secured their positions due to their victories in the Champions League during the predetermined four-year cycle, should they win Ol’ Big Ears this season.

You’re correct if you believe Liverpool has more coefficient points than Chelsea, but FIFA has ruled that winning the Champions League takes precedence over those points, according to The Telegraph.

Liverpool will likely be relieved that they won’t be competing in the Club World Cup, which will be held every four years starting in 2025 and over the summer.

The team would obviously lose out financially, but the amount of expectations placed on players and the schedule congestion are major worries.

The breaking point appears to be imminent as it is spiralling out of control.

The Club World Cup is currently an annual event that matches the champions of the host confederation against the winners of each confederation’s top club championship.

Liverpool won the trophy for the first time in 2019 after winning the European Cup, but these modifications will mean that they won’t be able to add to their collection until 2029.

Apart from City and Chelsea, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain, Inter Milan, Porto, and Benfica are the other European teams that have already qualified.

Although the balance sheet may indicate differently, Liverpool might benefit from staying out of it.

Liverpool is ‘interested’ in the speedy Bundesliga player with six goals so far.

Maximilian BeierSeveral Premier League clubs, including Liverpool, are also interested in the German Under-21 star.

According to Sky Germany, Liverpool are one of the clubs interested in Maximilian Bayer from Hoffenheim. The 21-year-old Bayern international has impressed in the Bundesliga this season with his blistering pace, ability to play up front and outstanding starts in front of goal.

SportBILD’s Christian Falk reported Liverpool’s interest a few months ago and now Sky have reported the same. Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg said that Beyer has a €30 million release clause in the summer, and the reporter even said that Beyer’s current plan is to leave Hoffenheim in the summer and take more clubs to the top flight

Brentford have also been mentioned as a potential destination, but the player’s main focus will be securing a call-up to Germany’s senior squad for Euro 2024 next summer, writes Plettenberg. It has been a breakthrough season for the striker as he has scored six goals and provided four assists in 13 league appearances this season, an impressive run after scoring seven goals in last year’s 2. Bundesliga campaign.

He also scored a hat-trick in an impressive 3-2 win over Stuttgart at the end of October. Moreover, his blinding speed is also remarkable. With a record speed of 35.45 km/h, the striker is the 10th fastest player in the Bundesliga this season, behind Leroy Sane (35.82 km/h) and Alphonso Davis (35.97 km/h) . The fastest in its segment.

Jurgen Klopp can be trusted to select players from this competition, relying on Jörg Schmatke’s Bundesliga experience to bring in the trio of Ryan Gravenberch, Dominic Szoboszlai and Wataru Endo this summer.

However, their forward line includes a strong back five of Luis Diaz, Mo Salah, Darwin Nunes, Cody Gakpo and Diogo Jota who have found form throughout the season so far.

Quality and depth remain basically fixed positions (or range of positions) as there is no real space for other strikers struggling to get minutes. However, Beyer is currently the best player in the Bundesliga, and if he can continue like this, he will surely be transferred.
