"They are already working," says Fabrizio Romano, giving Liverpool supporters a crucial update on the summer transfer market.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Liverpool will have a busy summer transfer window.

In Arne Slot, the Merseysiders will be welcomed more than just a new manager. Naturally, it is anticipated that further backroom staff positions will be filled; Andreas Kornmayer is the most recent to declare his decision to go.

It is expected that Richard Hughes and Michael Edwards will sign a new centre back “for sure,” and they may also find a forward option.

“They are already working on a new center-back, so it could be busy, I think it could be busy.” Thus, a new center-back and, I believe, something in the attacking positions,” the CaughtOffside columnist said in a podcast interview with The Debrief.

“I anticipate that Liverpool will sign two or three players this summer.”

The penultimate match for the 56-year-old will take place at Villa Park between Jurgen Klopp’s team and Aston Villa.

Who might Liverpool sign to fill the position of centre back?

"They are already working," says Fabrizio Romano, giving Liverpool supporters a crucial update on the summer transfer market.

Since the January window, a variety of options have been associated with the club.

Goncalo Inacio of Sporting Lisbon and his center-back partner Ousmane Diomane were popular choices.

It is likely, of course, that Liverpool’s situation is made more difficult by Ruben Amorim’s decision to remain in Portugal.

Willian Pacho of Frankfurt is reportedly expected to draw some attention this summer. The reports about a Liverpool switch have gained some traction thanks to EOTK Insider Neil Jones.

Forward signings, no matter who departs?

In a perfect world, Darwin Nunez, Mo Salah, and Luis Diaz would all remain in their current positions for at least one more season.

It remains to be seen how much a new forward line addition depends on one of our starting trio (possibly Cody Gakpo and Diogo Jota) initially leaving.

It is inevitable that, before the season ends, rumours about our No. 11 perhaps moving to Saudi Arabia will continue to circulate. You can be sure, though, that the 31-year-old isn’t currently anticipated to leave L4 just soon.

According to reports, Liverpool believes they may have identified the “right” striker to guide them ahead in the years following Jurgen Klopp exit.

It is said that Liverpool is looking for a new striker. They’ve been severely lacking in goalscoring consistency over the past few weeks, so they’re looking for a no. 9 who can lead the line.

At least, that’s what Corriere dello Sport claims. Liverpool is currently mentioned by the Italian publication as one of several teams vying to recruit Victor Osimhen from Napoli.

Osimhen is in high demand, of course. Chelsea and Manchester United have been strongly connected to him, while Paris Saint-Germain is also interested in him.

But Liverpool is suddenly included in the mix. According to the publication, Osimhen is the “right” striker to take over for Jurgen Klopp, presumably during the “Arne Slot era.”

Osimhen won’t be inexpensive, though. PSG is prepared to make a bid of about £85 million, and there is a release clause of about £111 million. Naturally, that falls far short of that clause, but it does imply that the bidding will get off to a high start.

It even implies that Napoli will receive the entire clause should another team enter the competition.

VICTOR OSIMHEN IS STILL UNDER THE RADAR OF LIVERPOOL

This one, perhaps, might make sense after all. Osimhen has been a regular scorer for many years; during Napoli’s Scudetto-winning season, he scored 26 goals. Despite their difficulties this year, he has scored 14 goals.

Notable is also the similarity in profile between Osimhen and Santiago Gimenez, Arne Slot’s primary goal scorer at Feyenoord.

They both average 68% pass completion, although neither plays many passes at all nor completes the ones they do play very frequently. Darwin Nunez, in contrast, plays a lot more passes than both of them and passes at a rate of about 70%.

Nunez does not, however, capitalise on his opportunities. He has the poorest rate in the Premier League, four goals below his xG. Gimenez and Osimhen are both perfectly aligned with theirs.

Osimhen may be the top striker Slot is pursuing if he wants to emulate the Feyenoord method. The question now is if Liverpool would actually spend the money.
