Up-to-date Liverpool injury information as Jurgen Klopp’s team gets ready to play Leicester City in the Carabao Cup.
When Liverpool faces Leicester City in the opening round of the Carabao Cup on Wednesday night at Anfield, they will be hoping to build on their promising start to the season.
This season, the Reds have won five of their six Premier League games after defeating West Ham 3-1 at home on Sunday.
Jurgen Klopp’s team has been nearly unbeatable in all competitions after adding a 3-1 Europa League victory away at LASK.
Klopp is anticipated to make changes against the Foxes, but he might need to check on a few first team stars before the match.
Here are the most recent injury updates for Liverpool and potential return dates:
Thiago Alcantara
Before experiencing a setback in training in August, Thiago Alcantara was just a few steps away from making his long-awaited comeback.
On August 27, Jurgen Klopp announced that Thiago would resume training, but the Spaniard did so too soon and hasn’t played since.
Thiago experienced a minor setback.
We need to take it a little slower there, Klopp said, because he started working out with the team and experienced a minor setback.
It’s not cool for him and it’s not cool for us, but that’s just how it is.
To stay current, Thiago will likely do so during the September international break.
I’m hoping it’ll be sufficient.
The remaining items are all on hand.
Thiago is still working separately from the main group, but Liverpool is hoping to get him back to full training soon.
Expected return date: Unknown
Trent Alexander Arnold
With just under 20 minutes remaining, Trent Alexander-Arnold sustained an injury during the 3-0 victory over Aston Villa, limping off the field and down the tunnel.
The Scouse full-back hasn’t played in the three weeks since that game, according to Jurgen Klopp, who acknowledged afterward that it was a hamstring issue.
Alexander-Arnold has resumed running but hadn’t resumed full training in time for West Ham.
However, he might return against Tottenham on September 30.
Expected return date: Late September
Conor Bradle
In two preseason games in Germany, the young full-back played 90 minutes, and his performances demonstrated potential.
Following a minor, unidentified injury, he was later excluded from the group that traveled to Singapore.
He hasn’t been included in any matchday squads since the season’s debut, though he has been participating in training since his teammates returned to England.
After establishing himself in League One with Bolton Wanderers last year, the Northern Irishman is anticipated to fit into Klopp’s plans as Alexander-Arnold’s backup once healthy.
Expected return date: Unknown

Infuriating injury to a Liverpool winger will keep him out till October
Young Liverpool player Kaide Gordon might need to sit out for a while longer after rolling his ankle.
The 18-year-old is anticipated to be sidelined for the following two weeks, according to chief football writer for the Liverpool Echo Ian Doyle.
Fans and the player alike can exhale with relief knowing that the problem is not nearly as serious as the pelvic issue that kept him in the hospital for nearly two years.
one of the most captivating young people in the country.
The expectations were high coming to Anfield because, at least in the Rams’ eyes, he left Derby County with a reputation as the top 16-year-old talent in England.
However, Gordon still has a bright future in the red part of Merseyside at the age of 18.
This should be clear to everyone.
It’s unfortunate that he will not be able to resume his career until October because of yet another problem, but hopefully this is the last one for a while.

Liverpool fell behind for the fourth time in five games when Florian Flecker scored into the bottom corner, but the Reds improved after the break.
Nunez scored from the spot to make it 1-1 after Diaz was brought down and the Colombian winger gave Liverpool the lead after a low cross from Ryan Gravenberch. Salah then came off the bench to score a third and make the match secure

Gravenberch injury not serious
Gravenberch made his first Liverpool start since his £34 million move from Bayern Munich on transfer deadline day.
He made a good impression by going up and down the pitch and recording his first assist.
But it looked like his full debut may have been ruined when he went down in the second half after a strong run forward.
Salah was called from the bench as Gravenberch cautiously walked away
Luckily Klopp confirmed that it was nothing serious for the 21-year-old midfielder.
He told TNT Sports after the match that the Dutchman was suffering from cramps after a long period without regular playing time.
“He told me he had a cramp and that makes sense,” he said.
“I think it was his first start in a long time
