Transfer to Liverpool is "100%," according to Jürgen Klopp, who came "quite close" to bringing in a second midfielder.
Digest: Before the transfer window closes, Liverpool will ‘100%’ complete one transfer transaction.

Nearly completed negotiations with his second midfielder were Jürgen Klopp.

Liverpool was “pretty close” to making a deal.

Orkun Kökçü wasn’t necessarily one of the most persistent names on the Liverpool transfer radar, but he was a consistent background figure for a few weeks. When playing for Feyenoord in the Eredivisie, the 22-year-old had a strong season.

But Jürgen Klopp apparently went “quite close” to getting him directly.
He has since moved to Benfica, so perhaps we should brace for an expensive arrival at Liverpool in a couple of years.

The defender is 100% coming

The Liverpool transfer window is unquestionably coming together. Three new midfielders are likely to be acquired, with perhaps one defender thrown into the mix as well, according to the general consensus.

The plan to acquire a new center-back, however, had previously been stated by the ECHO to be subject to a 12-month delay, which would have been a significant risk. Thankfully, Lynch has since stated that Liverpool will ‘100%’ sign a defender this summer.

In an article for Football Insider, he claims that it has been made clear by sources that a new defender will unquestionably join Jurgen Klopp’s squad. Micky Van de Ven is one of the people being observed, though there are a number of others as well.

Jol Matip is not expected to be sold by Liverpool this summer, but the club does want to be proactive. After doing the exact opposite in the pitch’s middle, that would be a welcome move.

Liverpool are interested in Inter midfielder Nicolò Barella

Jurgen Klopp is a big fan of Nicolò Barella. That is clear, with the German sharing a record of admiration for the Inter Milan midfielder.

“Barella not being able to play is not a bad thing for us,” Klopp said ahead of Liverpool’s 2022 Champions League match against Inter. “He is a very good player, a very good player and I like him a lot.

“He has everything you expect from a midfielder: he’s aggressive, he’s technical, he can run for a long time and everything in between. That’s a top player.”

After signing Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton earlier this month, the Reds are believed to be targeting a younger player profile for their second midfield recruit. Khephren Thuram, Manu Kone, Ryan Gravenberch, Gabri Veiga and Romeo Lavio are therefore among the interesting players of Liverpool.

However, they continue to be linked to Barella, with reports suggesting Newcastle United were in talks with Inter Milan over a potential £50million, prompting Kopites to urge his club to make a move of its own.

While such a commission is understandably appealing, the suggestion was also premature. Reports have since claimed that Inter are actually holding out for a figure closer to £80million.

As a result, having already withdrawn from the race to sign Jude Bellingham earlier this year, Liverpool are likely to have a price on a move for Barella even if he leaves the San Siro this summer. The Independent reports that while the Reds believe the 26-year-old Mac would complement Allister perfectly, they believe the asking price is too steep.

The fact that Newcastle were in talks to transfer the Italian had nonetheless offered the Reds outside hope of bringing in Barella, as fans speculated that history could repeat itself. After all, Tottenham Hotspur were in talks with FC Porto to sign Luis Diaz in January 2021, effectively negotiating a lower fee before Liverpool stepped in to sign the Colombian.

However, the latest speculation would suggest that no compromise will be reached with Inter on the asking price for Barella, at least not sufficiently, with Newcastle reportedly turning their attention elsewhere. Athletic are reporting that the Magpies are now close to agreeing to sign Sandro Tonali from AC Milan for around £60m.

Whether negotiations for Barella will go ahead remains to be seen, although the Daily Mail reported that Newcastle sources had always stressed that such a deal would always be a “difficult” deal to pull off. They also suggested there was no inclination that the midfielder was interested in a move to St James’ Park or the Premier League.

With their interest quickly shifting to Tonali, it would perhaps suggest that his compatriot is about to stick around at the San Siro, with this latest turn appearing to give the Reds their answer as to whether their would-be target is indeed up for a run this summer The affordable price can leave. or do you want to stand still.

Of course, this could be both good and bad news for Liverpool and their own interest in the midfielder. With Newcastle indeed looking elsewhere, Kopites won’t complain at the sight of the Italian fleeing one of their Premier League rivals this season, although it could suggest the 26-year-old won’t be on the move much. Finally.

However, if the Reds make a move for Barella, they would have one less team to compete with. Meanwhile, there may still be hope that the transfer fee could potentially be reduced later in the summer, similar to Liverpool’s successful signing of Alisson Becker in the summer of 2018 after AS Roma cut the asking price following the signing of Thibaut by Real Madrid. Courteous.

But as it stands, Red’s interest in Barella from afar is little more than that, with the Independent deeming Thuram a “cheaper option”, while Klopp wants his summer business completed as soon as possible before the start of the pre-season at the AXA Training Center on July 8.

Italian turns out to be too expensive. Indeed, had Newcastle not held talks for him, the possibility of a summer move to Anfield would not have entered the minds of Liverpool fans in the first place.

While Barella has his admirers in Merseyside, Liverpool’s focus for now appears to be elsewhere.
