Trent discloses what the Liverpool team stated in response to Jurgen Klopp’s “shocking” announcement.

Giving Jurgen Klopp the farewell he deserves has become the focus of Liverpool’s season, and the team understood this as soon as the shock of his declaration subsided.

As a professional player, Trent Alexander-Arnold has only ever known Klopp as his manager; the German gave him his professional debut and helped shape him into the elite player he is today.

The right-back said that, like the rest of us, they were all “completely surprised” by Klopp’s announcement in January and that none of them had “seen it coming.”

After saying that it “shook up the dressing room for a couple of hours,” Alexander-Arnold disclosed the message that the team sent out in response to the news.

Before the victory over Brighton, Alexander-Arnold told Sky Sports, “One of the messages that us players spoke about straight away, as soon as it happened, was he’s done so much for us.”

We have all ended up together, and it is all thanks to him, no matter how he brought us in, developed us, or guided us through the school.

“It is due to his adept management of us, and his desire for us to be part of the team and its environs,” he went on. “No matter what, we all have a duty to the manager, and we all want to offer him the greatest farewell we can.

“We discussed that and concluded that, because it’s what he deserves, it will act as additional motivation. We go out there and give it our all in an attempt to impress the manager; it’s similar to the last dance.

More than anyone else, Klopp deserves to retire on the highest possible note; his influence and legacy at Liverpool will be felt for many years to come.

Despite everyone’s desire to offer the manager a spectacular farewell, the vice captain was as eager to convey the players’ goals.

“We know our motivations, before or after the manager announced his news, we knew what our goals and targets were,” the No. 66 player clarified.

It serves as an additional motivator, but we take use of it rather than letting it get to us. We undoubtedly wish to assist him in having a grand send-off, complete with a procession.

“But as players, we want it too. This is our final season with him, and as a player who has played under the boss my entire career, I have never known anything different.

“I also want it to end on a positive note.”

There are still nine league cup finals to go, and maybe five more in Europe!
