UEFA has given Liverpool a significant advantage that Jürgen Klopp can use to his advantage in the Premier League.
The Europa League draw has given Liverpool a slight advantage, which Jürgen Klopp must take advantage of for the Reds in the upcoming Premier League matches.

Liverpool is all too aware of how much more traveling is required for Europa League participants than it is for Champions League players.

The Reds’ participation in the Group Stage of Europe’s second-tier competition this season will be just their fourth overall, but the club already has fond memories of trips to play teams like Steaua Bucharest, Anzhi Makhachkala, and Rubin Kazan in previous campaigns.

Liverpool might have been assigned matches in Azerbaijan, Israel, and Cyprus, facing Qarabag, Maccabi Haifa, and Limassol, respectively, had the Europa League draw for this season’s competition turned out differently.

Jürgen Klopp will be happy that his team does not have to endure that level of travel even though the draw was more difficult than that scenario in terms of the quality of the teams, at least if measured by the UEFA coefficients of the clubs involved.

The Reds will be adding Austria, Belgium, and France to the club’s collective passport this season as a result of their draws against LASK, Union Saint-Gilloise (two teams they have never faced), and Toulouse.

In terms of distance traveled or opponents faced, almost every other team in the competition will be envious of Liverpool’s travel plans.

Although Liverpool is the fourth-most western club in the draw, it only needs to travel a total of 3,046.93 kilometers to finish its three away games.
Note that the distance between Qarabag and Molde, two clubs that will compete in Group H, is 3,742.22 kilometers to put that into perspective.

The punishment does not apply equally to all sides, though.

However, Reddit research has revealed that only Slavia Prague and Liverpool’s upcoming opponent Union Saint-Gilloise will have less travel time in the 2023/24 Group Stage.

Simply put, Klopp and the Reds need to take advantage of this fortunate circumstance.

The Liverpool manager and his coaching staff will undoubtedly use this international window to schedule which players will appear in which Europa League games over the ensuing three months.

Typically, Klopp has saved his best lineups for home matches when traveling is not a concern and has saved his weaker teams for away contests.
However, it’s possible that the draw’s characteristics will muddle this squad management system.

The difficulty of the league game occurring three days after the negotiation of the European engagement must also be taken into account.
The Reds have also been fortunate in this regard, which is yet another blessing.

Only one of their six Premier League games that immediately follow a match in the Europa League is played away from home.

There may be simpler tests to face given that it will be played at Brighton’s AMEX Stadium, where Liverpool was defeated twice last season and by an overall score of 5-1.

However, even this particular week could have been worse because the Reds get to host Union Saint-Gilloise in the middle of the week rather than traveling abroad.

The bigger worry for Klopp will probably be what awaits his team after their Thursday night away game in Europe.
Although it could be much worse given that all three must travel to Anfield, there are easier trios to take on than West Ham, Brentford, and Manchester United.

The biggest of those games is the last one, which is fortunate because it follows the last game of the Group Stage.

Although Liverpool will have traveled to Belgium three days earlier, it should have qualified before that match and most likely won’t have to take any chances with their key players ahead of a significant derby in the northwest of England.

The idea of an exhausting trip to Eastern Europe right before a match against Manchester United is not something to dwell on.

The fact that his team’s travel requirements have been reduced to almost nothing will please Klopp.

Fabrizio Romano describes Liverpool star as "something incredible" and the "bargain of the summer."
The Premier League spent a record amount during this summer’s transfer window.

All the big clubs continued to give heavily and fans saw the British record broken not once, but twice.

Declan Rice has become the country’s most expensive player after moving £105million from West Ham to Arsenal. However, the England international soon lost his title after Moises Caicedo joined Chelsea from Brighton for the whopping sum of £115m.

However, Arsenal and Chelsea aren’t the only teams to achieve huge success this summer. Liverpool have also been tasked with several signings.

After losing almost all of their veteran midfielders at the end of last season, including Fabinho and captain Jordan Henderson; As both left the Premier League in favor of lucrative deals with the Saudi Pro League, Jurgen Klopp knew he had to spend the summer rebuilding his midfield.

Determined to restore the club to its former glory, the German opted to sign four midfield signings.

Dominik Szoboszlai joined RB Leipzig for £60m, Ryan Gravenberch joined Bayern Munich for £34m, Wataru Endo joined Stuttgart for £16m and Alexis Mac Allister joined for £16m from Brighton, a reported £35m fee.

And it’s the latter that Fabrizio Romano, top transfer expert and CaughtOffside columnist, has dubbed his “bargain of the summer”.

“I would like to mention Alexis Mac Allister [as the bargain of the summer],” Romano said on Monday’s DeBrief podcast.

“For me, he’s a great signing from Liverpool. I think they’ve done a really good job. […] For a sum of almost 40 million euros, I think it’s something incredible.”

Since Mac Allister, who signed a five-year contract, made his competitive debut for a club earlier in the season, he has started all four of Liverpool’s Premier League games.
