Wataru Endo opens up on summer transfer and makes a brutally honest admission about Liverpool.

Waturo Endo, who moved to Anfield last summer, has spoken about his move to Liverpool and how the deal fell through after three years at Stuttgart.
Endo Waturu admits he was “surprised” by his £16m move to Liverpool in the summer after giving up hope of a move to Stuttgart.
The 30-year-old became Liverpool’s third summer signing in mid-August after Fabinho and Jordan Henderson left for Saudi Arabia.
Endo strengthened Liverpool’s midfield following the departures of James Milner, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Naby Keita earlier this summer, following Alexis McAllister and Dominic Szoboslay through the Anfield gates.
Endo signed a four-year contract on Merseyside and made his debut as a substitute in a 3-1 win over Bournemouth.
A week later, he started his first game in Liverpool’s 2–1 win against Newcastle.
Endo appeared in a total of 11 matches for Liverpool and scored a goal against Toulouse in the Europa League.
In an interview with Sky Sports, Endo spoke about his move, saying he never expected to join the Reds.
“I thought there was still a chance to talk to the team,” he said. “I’m not young but all the top teams can afford top youth players but if they can’t sign young players they might need experienced players.”
“I thought the same thing this summer and it happened. I was a little surprised, I really wanted to move, but it was the end of August and I thought, “I can’t go.” I was a little surprised.”
After an impressive debut, Endo’s second game against Newcastle was much more difficult. Liverpool were forced to play over an hour with more than 10 men after Virgil van Dijk’s red card, but prevailed 2-1 thanks to Darwin Nunes’ second-half brace.
Endo, who has played in the Bundesliga for Stuttgart for the past three years, highlighted the key differences between Germany’s top flight and the Premier League.
“Everything is different.
Physical, technical, speed, etc.” Endo added.
“This is the Premier League. Of course you don’t play many games in the Premier League, but when I played against Newcastle it was a very difficult game for me. The speed is very different.”
Liverpool visit Luton on Sunday looking for a fifth straight win in all competitions.
Ahead of the game, Klopp said in his pre-match press conference: “I’ve heard about [Kenilworth Road] but I haven’t seen it yet.
“It’s an area I’ve never been to before.
I can not wait. I heard the locker room isn’t that big. All I need is a throw and an opponent.
Then here we are. That’s interesting. I like the story.”

Manager want to keep Liverpool loanee despite injury crisis
Dundee FC manager Tony Docherty has revealed he will keep Liverpool loanee Owen Beck despite his injury crisis.
Speaking to The Courier, the Scottish Premier League boss said he would prefer the Wales international to stay at Dens Park, although Beck could be recalled.
Liverpool are facing a defensive injury crisis with Andy Robertson out for three months, while Kostas Tsimikas is set to be replaced in this weekend’s derby with Everton.
With Beck performing well on loan, the 21-year-old is rumored to return to Anfield as Robertson’s replacement.
But Docherty wants the defender to stay at Dundee.
The SPL manager said: “Owen is doing extremely well and it’s no wonder internationally recognized people are talking about him.
But he is a very ordinary person and he is very popular here.
“I think he likes playing here, the football team and the camaraderie in the locker room.
We want to keep his feet on the ground and hope he continues to perform.
“That level of sustainability is getting people’s attention.”
Liverpool need to keep Beck out on loan
Beck, a regular in the Scottish Premier League and Wales international, is doing very well in his young football career.
Liverpool will be keen to bring him back to save the game, but we all know the defender will only be exposed to appearances from the bench.
As a result, Liverpool should secure Beck’s loan deal from Dundee, with the defender gaining valuable experience that will go a long way in helping him become one of the best players in the game.
