LIVERPOOL'S INTEREST IN NOT NEW

Anfield Watch has learned that Liverpool is keeping an eye on Montpellier forward Mousa Tamari.

Before moving to France this summer, where his goals and dribbling skills have gained a wider audience, the in-form winger was already on the Reds’ radar.

Due to his position, pace, and region of origin, Tamari has obvious similarities to a certain Liverpool number 11, but if a transfer does take place in the future, don’t count on Tamari to replace Mohamed Salah.

Instead, the 26-year-old Jordanian international is thought of as a player who could join Salah in Liverpool’s attack and support him.

Tamari’s recent performances have made headlines in France, but Premier League viewers are still unfamiliar with him.

Here are five things to know about Tamari to help you understand who he is and why Liverpool might be interested.

TOP DRIBBLER IN BELGIUM

Tamari played for OH Leuven in Belgium for three seasons before making the free transfer to Montpellier for the 2023–24 season.

Opta claims that during his time in the Jupiler Pro League, no player attempted or finished more dribbles (174) or attempted more dribbles (384) than he did.

HISTORY MAKER

At the beginning of the summer, Tamari made history when he decided to move to Montpellier after his contract in Belgium expired.

As a result, he made history by becoming the first player from Jordan to compete in one of Europe’s “big five” leagues.

One week after making his debut, he notched two goals in a 4-1 victory over Lyon to make history by becoming the first Jordanian to score in any of the “big five,” and his efforts earned him a spot in Montpellier’s Player of the Month list for August.

“THE JORDANIAN MESSI”.

To his face, though, avoid saying it.

Tamari, a right winger born in Amman, has long been referred to as his nation’s equivalent of the Argentine superstar due to his left foot and quickness.

Tamari, however, does not think highly of the nickname he acquired while competing for APOEL in Cyprus, and does not see it as a compliment.

According to Marca’s report on Tamari, he has stated, “I know some people call me that, but I don’t like that nickname.
“The fans in Cyprus are a little crazy, which is how they came up with that moniker.

“They even made up a song in which they referred to me as the ‘Jordanian Messi.”

To the tune of La Bamba, this chant is said:.

Al Tamari is available.

He is far superior to Harry and Dele Alli.

The Jordanian named Messi!

LIVERPOOL’S INTEREST IN NOT NEW

The Reds are aware that Tamari has been under observation for some time, according to Anfield Watch.

Tamari was allegedly “on the radar” of Manchester City and Liverpool in a Bleacher Report profile from the year 2020.

Before the former Cypriot First Division MVP moved to France this summer, a number of clubs, including Fenerbahce, Blackburn, and Egyptian heavyweights Al Ahly, were said to be interested in signing him. However, the forward was constantly focused on playing in a major league in Europe.

“Ever since I was a kid, I wanted to play in one of the big five leagues, but my mother wanted me to focus on my studies,” he said.
She told me it would be challenging to realize my dream in Jordan, not because she didn’t believe in me.

Although being the first Jordanian to play in France makes my home country proud, that is not the intention.
I’m craving more.

FABULOUS NUMBERS.

Tamari has gained a lot of admirers in France and elsewhere thanks to his promising start to 2023/24.

He had already scored three goals in his first three Ligue 1 games when Montpellier was leading Clermont 4-2 at home.
However, the game was called in stoppage time after a projectile was thrown at the Clermont goalkeeper.

Tamari has five goals from an xG of 1 point 4 when you add those two goals.
She also averages more than three shots per 90, hitting the goal 53 percent of the time.

He tries over six dribbles per 90 as well.

Managing director of Montpellier Michel Der Zakarian praised his new player as “a really good lad, a hard worker, and he’s settled quickly.”.

He dribbles well, passes well, and scores goals.
He is quick with the ball and without it.
