Why Darwin Núñez was seen in Barcelona amid rumours of Liverpool transfer

Ahead of the summer transfer window, Darwin Núñez, a forward for Liverpool, was sighted in Barcelona this week with Ronald Araújo, his international teammate.
Darwin Núñez, a star player for Liverpool, was recently spotted in Barcelona, raising concerns about his future at Anfield. In recent weeks, there have been rumours that the Uruguayan could join the dominant La Liga team.
The 24-year-old Núñez fueled these rumours after the Reds’ most recent game last weekend. The forward, who came on in the 75th minute to replace Colombian winger Luis Díaz, did not score in the afternoon’s 4-2 loss to Liverpool, ending his run of eight games without a goal.
Núñez headed straight down the tunnel as referee Paul Tierney blew the full-time whistle. Later, he deleted all but one image from his personal Instagram account that had anything to do with Liverpool. This added fuel to the flames that Barcelona, who is looking to replace Robert Lewandowski ahead of the upcoming season, might make a play for him this summer.
In midweek, Núñez was spotted with his international teammate Ronald Araújo, presumably in Barcelona, which further fueled rumours about his possible transfer to the team. The Liverpool forward did, however, have a valid purpose for travelling to the Spanish capital, and it has nothing to do with a transfer.
Eight days had passed since Liverpool’s victory over Spurs on Sunday when they faced Unai Emery’s Champions League-chasing club. This indicates that a number of first-team players, including Núñez, have seized the chance to depart on vacation.
While Kostas Tsimikas, Diogo Jota, Ibrahima Konaté, Alexis Mac Allister, and Kostas Gakpo have all been spotted in various locales, Cody Gakpo has taken advantage of the chance to spend some time with his newborn baby, Samuel. Due to the birth of his child, the Netherlands international was unable to play in the 2-0 loss to Everton.
The team is anticipated to return to practice later this week in preparation for the Villa match. On Thursday night, Emery’s team will take on Olympiacos of Greece in an attempt to overcome a 4-2 deficit. Núñez used the holiday to catch up with a close friend and teammate, evidently looking to decompress from the pressures he’s now facing at Anfield.
According to Liverpool.com, before the penultimate match of Jürgen Klopp’s tenure at the club, the players deserve a rest after a demanding season, I hope they come back from their trip rejuvenated and can finish the season well against Wolverhampton Wanderers and Villa.
