With a significant injury boost before Arsenal, Christopher Nkunku sends a new message to Chelsea.

Chelsea injury news as Christopher Nkunku provides another significant update on his recovery following the Blues’ victory over Burnley.

Christopher Nkunku, who has been sidelined for Chelsea’s entire season due to a serious knee injury, has posted yet more encouraging developments in his recovery.
Despite not having yet played for the team since joining in the summer, the 25-year-old has advanced another step.

Nkunku contributed significantly to Mauricio Pochettino’s team during preseason and showed great promise as a cornerstone of the team fighting to return to the top four of the Premier League, but his tour of America came to an abrupt end after colliding with Borussia Dortmund. He has had to remain on the sidelines ever since.

In his absence, Chelsea has struggled to convert chances into goals and matchday dominance into regular victories, but after three straight victories, they have slowly begun to turn a corner.

Potency has been a problem for Pochettino due to the absence of Nkunku and fellow attacking midfielder Carney Chukwuemeka, who was also sidelined until this past week due to a knee injury.

For Chelsea, however, Chukwuemeka’s return and the additions of Cole Palmer and Armando Broja to the squad have come at a good time, making Nkunku’s most recent boost even more of a plus.

Returning to social media, the forward posted several videos of the workouts.

On his way to recovery, Nkunku is seen pushing his legs to their absolute limits while performing kick ups with a ball in addition to progressing with his upper body and arm workouts. It’s the first time since the injury that he’s been spotted with a ball at his feet.

Nkunku continues to support his team despite being sidelined from the action and frequently uses Instagram to send encouragement and messages to his teammates.

He wrote: “Big win!! [heart eyes emoji and green tick emoji]” following the 4-1 victory over Burnley on Saturday.

After an initial prognosis indicated a timeframe of about four months from pre-season, Nkunku is still not anticipated to return until late November at the earliest.

Given that this is his second long-term injury in the last 12 months, his recovery will be carefully managed.
That will put him somewhere around the crossover into December.

Reece James, Benoit Badiashile, and Romeo Lavia are currently being reintegrated into the team by Chelsea, but Wesley Fofana, who has another knee injury, is likely to miss the entire season.

After being away from the first team for nine months, Armando Broja has recently returned but has so far been treated like a baby.

Risking a knock-on injury is simply not something Chelsea can afford, especially during the winter period of fixtures when games come thick and fast.

Nkunku promises to be an even more crucial player than them all when he is healthy.
Nkunku feels that the meeting with Arsenal following the break in international play is coming much too soon for now.
