Dominik Szoboszlai, Trent Alexander-Arnold, and Thiago Alcantara have all been sidelined, but Mohamed Salah made a comeback in the victory against Brentford last weekend.

Diogo Jota, along with three other Liverpool players, will miss crucial games against Luton and Chelsea in this week’s Carabao Cup final, according to Jurgen Klopp, who has stated Jota will be out for months.

Although Mohamed Salah played brilliantly in the 4-1 victory over Brentford to complete his recovery from a hamstring injury incurred while playing for Egypt in the Africa Cup of Nations, the Reds have been dealing with a number of injuries in recent weeks.

But in what seems to be a pivotal week for the Premier League leaders, Jota and Curtis Jones will miss both games along with Alisson.

Even though Klopp had previously stated that he will start Caoimhin Kelleher in goal, Liverpool will be missing at least seven players when they play Wembley on Sunday.

Jota, the second-highest scorer for Liverpool this year, was injured after Christian Norgaard, the captain of Brentford, fell on him during a challenge.

The Portugal international has five goals in his previous seven games, but Klopp has stated the attacker will be out for a considerable amount of time. “Obviously, it will take rather months [than weeks] with Diogo,” he remarked.

Longer stints on the sidelines are also in store for Alisson, who sustained an injury the day before Brentford’s match, and Jones, who sustained an injury before to the interval on Saturday.

He declared, “It’s not great, definitely not.” “Ali is not available because of a muscular injury; I’m not sure how long it will take, but it is not something that can be predicted. Then, Diogo, who has a knee problem, is out, as is Curtis, who has a bone ligament problem. For the remaining players, we believe we will handle things day by day. With Curtis, we have critical days—days five and ten are crucial days—and we reevaluate the condition based on the intensity of the pain, so I’m not sure how long it will take.

After starting nine of Liverpool’s past ten games, Jones established himself as a vital member of the midfield. Klopp also hinted that Dominik Szoboszlai will not make it in time to play in the Carabao Cup final, which will also see vice captain Trent Alexander-Arnold absent.

He remarked, “All of the slightly longer-term [injuries], like Trent and Dom, are coming back, but they’re not quite ready for team training.”

Darwin Nunez, the striker, was substituted off the pitch at halftime against Brentford, per Klopp’s explanation as a precaution. He may be available to play against Luton, although Joel Matip and Thiago Alcantara are still out.

Liverpool plans to raid a 17-year-old midfield prodigy this summer.

Liverpool plans to raid a 17-year-old midfield prodigy this summer.

Archie Grey, a midfielder for Leeds United, is apparently a target for Liverpool.

According to Football Insider, the Premier League’s biggest teams were interested in the player during the January transfer window and are still ready to move for him at the end of the current campaign.

It’s unclear if Leeds, a team in the Championship, are willing to allow the 17-year-old to leave after he established himself as a valuable first-team member.

Leeds United has the midfield player under contract until the summer of 2028, so the Whites are not under any immediate rush to sell him. But Grey might be tempted to sign with a major team if they don’t make it to the top tier at the end of the season.

He’ll want to compete at the top level and get lots of first-team experience to further his growth. Liverpool will be a desirable destination for him if they can guarantee him a game. Being one of the biggest teams in the nation, they have a track record of developing young players into regular starters.

Archie Grey is probably not going to be the only club interested in Leeds, and the Reds may not be the only team making approaches in the summer. In order to keep their best players, the Whites will be driven to win promotion back to the Premier League.

Grey can play both full-back and central midfield because of his versatility. With the correct coaching, he has the skills to become a valuable midfield player in the Premier League.
