Anthony Gordon position clarified on Liverpool transfer as Newcastle consider a swap deal

After making an impression for Newcastle, Anthony Gordon has been linked to a move to Liverpool.

If the right opportunity presents itself, the winger would be willing to join the Reds. Anthony Gordon, the outstanding winger for Newcastle, is reportedly keen to join Liverpool this summer if the opportunity presents itself.

The former Everton player, who joined the Magpies in January of last year, has grown to be an important member of Eddie Howe’s team and has been linked to a possible transfer to Anfield. He had a fantastic season last year, tallying 11 assists and scoring 10 goals in the league.

The Telegraph claims that Gordon, a devoted Liverpool supporter, would jump at the chance to sign with the Merseyside giants should they show interest. While Gordon was playing for England at Euro 2024, it was claimed last month that he had been interested in Liverpool.

With Liverpool’s finances now stable, there’s no guarantee Newcastle will be willing to do business with them. The club has already made £67 million with the departures of Elliot Anderson and Yankuba Minteh, and there are rumours that it will sell additional players throughout the summer.

Gordon scored an amazing 23 goals and provided 23 assists for Newcastle last season. The manager of the team, Eddie Howe, has previously expressed his desire to keep Gordon. Early this month, Howe declared, “I’d welcome Anthony back with three arms if I had them,” according to the Express.

He plays a crucial role in our work. Over the summer, we haven’t had any tense or unpleasant conversations.

“He has always been the Anthony Gordon who has given Newcastle everything, and I want everyone who supports us to know that.” Anthony needs a little vacation, but he’ll be refreshed and ready to go when he returns. He plays such a significant role for us.

“We wished to keep everyone safe. Is it really our goal to lose our greatest players? It was extremely tough in those final few weeks, even though we battled really hard to make the right choices.”

Liverpool, however, has not made any summer additions as they prepare for a new chapter in their history without Jurgen Klopp in charge. Arne Slot, the club’s new manager, has assumed charge of a formidable squad and is unconcerned about the quiet transfer window.

In a recent press conference, he said, “The first aim is to work with these players.” Naturally, the fact that a large number of them haven’t arrived yet is a drawback. One advantage of it is that it’s a great method to observe the younger players and give them opportunities to play.”
