Liverpool have yet to make any signings during the January transfer window, and it appears increasingly likely that departures, rather than arrivals, will dominate as Arne Slot eyes potential moves at Anfield.

With just two weeks remaining in the transfer window, Liverpool has yet to act. Marcelo Pitaluga has left for Fluminense, while Calvin Ramsay has been loaned to Kilmarnock. Despite targeting a Premier League title, Arne Slot has not yet added any new players to his squad.

There has been ongoing speculation about Darwin Nunez’s future, but the Uruguay international eased concerns by scoring a crucial brace against Brentford, helping secure three points for the Reds. Nunez’s performance was especially notable as Slot’s side struggled to break down Brentford’s defense.

So, what might the next few days bring? Mirror Football takes a look at some of the latest news and transfer rumors surrounding Anfield.

Elliott’s Commitment

Harvey Elliott has reaffirmed that Liverpool is where he wants to be, amidst rumors of a possible departure. The former Fulham player revealed that he has had “friendly talks” with manager Arne Slot, but he remains focused on his goals at Anfield.

Elliott stated: “Absolutely [I want to stay]. Liverpool is my club, Liverpool is my team. I want to fight for my place, fight for my position in the team. I am going to do what it takes. Do it as much as I can.

“Help the team out when it’s possible. It’s down to me to put in the effort, the hard work, the desire, to make that achievement. I am not going to give up, I am going to keep fighting and who knows what might happen.”

Expected Exit

Midfielder Tom Hill is set to leave Liverpool for Harrogate, according to the Liverpool ECHO. Hill, who has been at Liverpool’s academy since he was five, is poised to sign an 18-month contract as he looks to kick-start his professional career.

Hill made his senior debut in December 2019 against Aston Villa in the Carabao Cup and signed his first professional contract in February 2020. However, he was sidelined for nearly two years following knee surgery in September 2020.

The Athletic reports that young players Tyler Morton and James McConnell are also likely to depart Liverpool this month.

Kerkez’s massage

Bournemouth defender Milos Kerkez has fueled speculation about his future, acknowledging the transfer talk with a recent social media post. After his team’s 4-1 victory at Newcastle, which included a goal, Kerkez shared a message on Instagram: “I talk on the pitch,” alongside a picture of his goal celebration.

Liverpool midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai, a Hungary international teammate of Kerkez, responded to the post with: “Yes my son,” followed by a red heart emoji.

Reports suggest that Kerkez’s preference for a move is to Anfield.
