Current Liverpool transfer rumours and news as the team is still connected to multiple new players throughout the summer transfer window
Liverpool still has a lot of space to work with when assembling their ideal team for the next Premier League campaign. Although the Reds have not yet finalised any new signings, they are still being linked to potential roster expansions.
Premier League teams can announce their 25-man roster for the upcoming season when the transfer market ends. Liverpool announced their list in September of the previous year, and it is expected that they will do the same this time.
Several players from Liverpool’s team from last year have already left this summer. Paul Glatzel, Thiago Alcantara, Joel Matip, and Adrian have all left the team, leaving four positions empty on a roster that had only 22 players in the previous campaign.
There are just 17 players on Liverpool’s roster that are not considered homegrown. Additionally, the Under-21 team does not have to provide the names of its players; an Under-21 player is defined as one who was born on or after January 1, 2003.
Because of this, players like Stefan Bajcetic, Jarell Quansah, Conor Bradley, and Harvey Elliott do not need to be a part of the team this season. Additionally, if needed, Liverpool has the option to add additional foreign players.
In recent weeks, two players have been connected to Liverpool: Gleison Bremer and Joshua Kimmich. These players could be added to the Reds roster for the upcoming season, giving Arne Slot much-needed depth in his first year as head coach.
According to recent reports, Juventus believes Bremer is worth £50 million. Given Kimmich’s significance to the team, it is unclear if Bayern Munich would be willing to move the midfield player.
Anthony Gordon is another player who has been connected to Liverpool. The Newcastle United player is said to have been a target for the Reds all summer, and if he is signed, Liverpool would have a homegrown player for the upcoming campaign.
