Check out the most recent Chelsea news, including updates on Robert Sanchez, Moises Caicedo, and the Blues’ search for a less expensive Kylian Mbappe replacement.

Chelsea has one week to complete any last-minute transfers before the start of the new Premier League season against Liverpool.

While Mauricio Pochettino has welcomed players like Christopher Nkunku, Nicolas Jackson, and Axel Disasi to Stamford Bridge, the Blues still desperately need a top-tier defensive midfielder. However, Brighton are adamant that they must obtain a £100 million windfall in order to sign Moises Caicedo, who is still frequently linked with a move to west London.

Lesley Ugochukwu was acquired by Chelsea from Rennes, though it is uncertain if he will be loaned out before the end of August. In other news, the Blues appear to be close to signing Robert Sanchez from Brighton, but a potential transfer for Dusan Vlahovic, who might take Romelu Lukaku’s place at Cobham, is being viewed with skepticism.

As their transfer preference is made known, Chelsea tables their offer for Olise.

In the competition with Manchester City to sign Michael Olise, Chelsea has put forth an offer of €30 million (£25 point 9 million).

When they have more information about the injury that has kept him out of Crystal Palace’s preseason, the Blues will formally make the offer, according to RMC journalist Fabrice Hawkins.

Moisés Caicedo's transfer, Mohammed Kudus' stance, and Michael Olise's offer are all current Chelsea news and transfers.

In the midst of a captaincy hint, everything was seen at Chelsea training.

As Mauricio Pochettino gets ready to face Liverpool in the Premier League opener, Chelsea faces a crucial week at Cobham. The Blues have had a productive preseason, winning three of their first five games and playing an attacking brand of football.

Their preseason campaign came to an end in a 1-1 draw with Borussia Dortmund in Chicago, but the biggest worry was an injury to Christopher Nkunku. Although a prolonged absence appears unlikely, the Frenchman must work quickly to be ready for the match against Liverpool.

While Benoit Badiashile, Armando Broja, and Nkunku are each attending to medical concerns, Pochettino has been working his team hard on the Cobham fields.
As Chelsea begins the final week of preparations, football.London has compiled all of the training-related observations.

Moisés Caicedo's transfer, Mohammed Kudus' stance, and Michael Olise's offer are all current Chelsea news and transfers.

Chelsea has plans for Sanchez after a £25 million transfer is official.
In a £25 million deal, Robert Sanchez was acquired by Chelsea on Saturday.

Although Nathan Gissing of Di Marzio appears to have revealed the long-term strategy, the 25-year-old was hired to compete with Kepa Arrizabalaga.

Robert Sanchez, a recent addition to Chelsea, on Colwill, Cucurella, and Kepa.

In his first interview since joining Chelsea this summer, Robert Sanchez discussed Levi Colwill, Marc Cucurella, and Kepa Arrizabalaga.

During the interview that was part of the four-minute clip of his first day, Sanchez talked about the Chelsea players he is already familiar with, including Kepa with the Spanish national team and Colwill and Cucurella from his time living on the south coast.

Sanchez, like many others before her, gave Colwill the highest possible recommendation and made a significant prediction about the 20-year-old.

Moisés Caicedo's transfer, Mohammed Kudus' stance, and Michael Olise's offer are all current Chelsea news and transfers.

Vlahovic’s position regarding the Chelsea transfer.
According to reports, Dusan Vlahovic would prefer to remain at Juventus over moving to Chelsea as part of a Romelu Lukaku swap deal.

Vlahovic allegedly did not request the move, but he is aware it could happen and would not object to it, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

According to the rumor, Vlahovic wants to make it clear that Juve, not him, would decide whether to pursue a transfer to Chelsea after scoring in Thursday’s preseason win over Real Madrid.

After moving to Chelsea, Sanchez’s first words.
Robert Sanchez has spoken for the first time since Chelsea officially announced his permanent transfer from Brighton.

The 25-year-old has committed to a seven-year deal after joining Chelsea for a reported £25 million, and he appears to be in a battle with Kepa Arrizabalaga for the No. 1 spot. a single goalkeeper.

In his first interview since joining the Blues, Sanchez stated, “I really started my career here in England. Brighton gave and gave me everything I needed as a goalkeeper inside and outside the field of play to get the most out of me, which I’m really happy I did and grateful for. It’s a much bigger challenge now, but I’m up for it.

“Selecting Chelsea was the best decision I could have made because of the amazing opportunities they have provided in front of me to develop more as a goalkeeper, learn, and compete for the position and demonstrate to everyone how good I can be. “.

Eleventh summer signing for Chelsea is “imminent.”.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea’s efforts to sign the next generation of stars have continued with a move to sign Deivid Washington being “imminent.”.

    Incredible Caicedo-Chelsea transfer twist.
If Chelsea wants to sign Moises Caicedo this summer, they might have to pay Brighton’s asking price. However, before agreeing to Brighton’s terms, a crucial choice must be made.

The Athletic reported that an “unidentified” club submitted an offer for Caicedo earlier this week, seemingly giving the transfer saga a major turn. Various rumors have identified Premier League teams as the unidentified bidder, and a Saudi Arabian team has also been mentioned; however, it appears unlikely that Chelsea will be impacted.

Fabrizio Romano, a transfer expert, claims that Chelsea are unconcerned about any alleged mystery club signing Caicedo this summer. However, a recent claim made by the Italian journalist may have Chelsea worried.

    The Vlahovic update.

In light of rumors that Dusan Vlahovic might be moving to Chelsea, Massimiliano Allegri has commented on him. The Juventus manager turned to the Serbian on Thursday night in Orlando during a preseason friendly against Real Madrid, despite being strongly linked with a move to west London.

In his post-game interview, Allegri was questioned about Vlahovic, who entered the game with just under 15 minutes remaining. Allegri said in a statement to La Gazzetta dello Sport, as reported by the Evening Standard, “I’m very happy for him. He was going to come off the bench and play for 15 minutes, and we agreed on that before the game.

“Dusan wasn’t entirely convinced, but it was helpful. Aside from scoring a goal, Vlahovic performed admirably on the field and benefited the team. “.

Official: Lewis Hall future, Nkunku injury status as Robert Sánchez joins Chelsea from Brighton & Hove Albion

Official: Robert Sánchez joins Chelsea from Brighton & Hove Albion
Chelsea has added another player from Brighton & Hove Albion, but it’s not the one we had been waiting for all summer. Unless, of course, Robert Sanchez has Moisés Caicedo hidden away in one of his suitcases.

With the exception of that unlikely ploy, only Sánchez is arriving today, serving as Kepa Arrizabalaga’s primary competition and primary backup. In light of that mission statement, the most recent £25 million (well, £20 + 5 million) care package we sent to Brighton seems quite kind. Again.

Sánchez, who joined the Seagulls’ youth program at age 15 and later made his way up to the team, has now committed to the Blues for seven years.

Sánchez, who is only 25 years old, has plenty of room to mature and advance, and reuniting him with Ben Roberts, his former goalkeeper coach at Brighton, should help in that regard as well. Under the new head coach Roberto De Zerbi, Sánchez had lost his spot on the team the previous year, despite the fact that he had previously been highly regarded and had a rising reputation. He has two appearances under his belt for Spain.

Kepa, Sánchez, and Bettinelli are the three goalkeepers for this campaign.

    Thank you, Robert!

According to a recent report, Chelsea’s key creative star will be out for “weeks” due to injury.

Official: Robert Sánchez joins Chelsea from Brighton & Hove Albion
Today, Nizaar Kinsella provided the update on Christopher Nkunku’s injury that Chelsea supporters had been waiting for.

It’s not bad news, but it’s also not good news.
According to Kinsella, the France international will only be out for “weeks rather than months” after being injured in our final summer friendly due to a challenge from Mats Hummels.

It’s been almost a year since it was announced by every transfer insider in the game that he would join us this summer, and since then it’s been a torturous wait to see him in action, which makes it even more frustrating for fans.

It’s just incredibly frustrating to learn that he won’t be available to start the season.

Nkunku has had a strong preseason, and the team has come together well around him. Mauricio Pochettino will now have to go back to the drawing board and figure out which players to use in which ways in order to get his attack firing. All the work he put into getting ready for Liverpool will now be for nothing.

London club is very close to signing the “magnificent” Fabrizio Romano from Chelsea.

Official: Robert Sánchez joins Chelsea from Brighton & Hove Albion
The temporary signing of Lewis Hall from Chelsea by Crystal Palace is currently very close to being completed.

That is what reputable journalist Fabrizio Romano claims.

Lewis Hall, 18, is about to leave Chelsea on loan for the upcoming season, according to a late Friday night report from Romano.

In order to sign the versatile youngster, Premier League and London club Palace are reportedly at “advanced stages.”.

Crystal Palace and Chelsea are nearing a loan agreement for Lewis Hall, according to Romano.
Final details are being discussed as negotiations are in their advanced stages and are almost complete.
    ”.

Hall played a total of nine Premier League games for Chelsea’s first team last season and didn’t appear out of place in the least.

We like the sound of him improving his game this season while on loan at Palace and getting regular playing time.

It will be interesting to see where the English teenager is used at Selhurst Park because he is an excellent option for left-back or central midfield. Of course, the agreement still needs to be signed.

The left-footed rising star, in our opinion, stands a strong chance of eventually joining Mauricio Pochettino’s Blues team.

Hall, who Micah Richards previously praised as “magnificent” on Sky Sports, will be adored by the Palace supporters.

Even at the highest level, he is unfazed and plays with such intelligence despite only being 18 years old. Technically sound and an excellent crosser, too.

Leandro Paredes: Chelsea considers a bid for preferred Maricio Pochettino’s choice as a potential replacement for Moises Caicedo
After becoming impatient with the slow pace of their pursuit of Moises Caicedo, Chelsea has expressed interest in Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Leandro Paredes.

Last week, Brighton rejected a revised £80 million offer for Caicedo, valuing the Ecuadorian international at over £100 million.

Caicedo wants to move to Stamford Bridge, but Brighton won’t lower their asking price, and Chelsea is looking at other possibilities.

With Paredes having previously worked with him at PSG, Mauricio Pochettino lacks depth in the central midfield.

The 29-year-old is in the final year of his contract with Paris and is readily available for a fair price. He won the World Cup with Argentina last year.

Although Paredes does not fit the Todd Boehly-Clearlake ownership’s typical target player profile, Pochettino is eager to bolster his team’s experience ahead of the upcoming campaign.

Chelsea could still lose Conor Gallagher, and if that happens, the Blues will likely want to sign two new midfielders.

Possible targets include Amadou Onana of Everton, Tyler Adams of Leeds United, Edson Alvarez of Ajax, and Gabri Veiga of Celta Vigo, who is a more attacking option.

Chelsea is nearing a double deal to sign Monaco defender Axel Disasi for £38.6 million and Brighton goalkeeper Robert Sanchez for £25 million.

When deciding whether to expand their options up front, they are also thinking about a move for Michael Olise, a winger for Crystal Palace.

Although a transfer for the PSG star has reportedly been rejected, Chelsea has been linked with a move for Kylian Mbappe.

There is a suspicion that PSG is attempting to involve a significant Premier League team in their political conflict with Real Madrid over Mbappe.

Axel Disasi: Chelsea acquires the France international defender from Monaco for £38.8 million.

Axel Disasi has agreed to a six-year contract with Chelsea. According to co-sporting directors Laurence Stewart and Paul Winstanley of the BluesAxel Disasi has agreed to a six-year contract with Chelsea. According to co-sporting directors Laurence Stewart and Paul Winstanley of the Blues, Axel has demonstrated his talent over a number of seasons in France, and this has rightfully earned him recognition on the international stage.

Axel Disasi left Monaco and was acquired by Chelsea for £38.8 million.

The center back from France has committed to Stamford Bridge for six years.

Chelsea’s co-sporting directors, Laurence Stewart and Paul Winstanley, stated: “Axel has deservedly gained recognition on the international stage after showcasing his quality over several seasons in France.

“We are thrilled that Chelsea will be the next step in his career for him, as he is prepared to do so.

“We extend our warmest welcome to him and look forward to him joining Mauricio Pochettino and the rest of his new teammates soon. “.

Disasi, whose name had been associated with Manchester United and Newcastle during this transfer window, still had two years left on his deal with Monaco.

Before approving a move for Disasi, Monaco desired a replacement; Mohammed Salisu of Southampton became that signing this month.

As a result of Wesley Fofana’s ACL injury, Pochettino had previously stated Chelsea was planning to reenter the center-back market.

The player, Fofana, underwent knee surgery, and Pochettino expressed optimism that the player would make a comeback from injury this season.

At center-back, Pochettino now has a choice between Thiago Silva, Trevoh Chalobah, Levi Colwill, who just renewed a six-year contract with Chelsea, and Disasi.

A hamstring injury sustained at the end of the previous season is still bothering Disasi’s former Monaco teammate, Benoit Badiashile, who is currently on the mend.

Disasi spent four years in Reims before moving to Monaco in 2020. He made three appearances for France at the 2022 World Cup.

The 25-year-old is Chelsea’s sixth summer acquisition, following Nicolas Jackson, Christopher Nkunku, Lesley Ugochukwu, Diego Moreira, and Angelo.

Who will be moving this summer when the transfer window begins on June 14 and closes at midnight in Scotland and 11pm in England on September 1?

Liverpool 'expect' to beat Chelsea to £50m 'beast' to replace Galatasaray-linked star
Liverpool ‘expect’ to strike a deal for midfielder Romeo Lavia and the ‘beast’ from Southampton are reportedly interested in a move to Anfield.

Lavia has been linked with Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool this summer following his impressive performances in his first season for Southampton.

Last week, a report said Liverpool had cooled their interest in Lavia as there was “no void to fill” in their squad, but that could change soon with Thiago Alcantara being linked with a move to Galatasaray.

Turkish publication Fanatik (via Sport Witness) report that Galatasaray chairman Erden Timur has held talks with the Spaniard over a move and made a “very good offer” which Thiago hailed.

The report adds that “Timur has also been in talks with Liverpool to find out the terms necessary to sign the former Barcelona star in this window.” Fabrizio Romano said on Friday that Liverpool believe they can “find a way” to bring in Lavia using “a creative formula”.

Southampton rejected a £50m offer for Lavia from Chelsea last summer, having previously signed the teenager from Manchester City for £11m.

Saints allegedly wanted the same fee for Lavia who had been relegated to the Championship, but The Sun recently said they had reduced his price to £40m in a bid to encourage potential suitors.

Liverpool would be willing to pay that price for the midfielder who he sees as “a beast who can break up the game, seal the space in which the opposition operate and lay the foundations for the team’s attacking play”.

Chelsea are still eyeing the Belgian international as a possible alternative to Moises Caicedo, for whom Brighton want Declan Rice’s money. Caicedo admitted this week that he is enjoying the transfer speculation, although he insists he “knows how to handle it.”

“It’s a very big emotion,” Caicedo told Maria Jose Flores. “What man wouldn’t want to be talked about about him?”

“I know how to deal with it. I don’t get carried away by emotions. I am enjoying the time with my family for now. There is pressure, but I am calm. I await God’s decision. He will know what is best for me.

According to report:Liverpool ready to close quick signing of £26m-£34m play breaker

Defenceless! Six things came to light as Bayern Munich ruthlessly exposed Liverpool's flimsy backline.
To begin their new Premier League season under Jurgen Klopp, Liverpool will play Chelsea away from home in just over ten days.

With only two additions and five departures in the midfield, it will be fair to say that the Reds haven’t been able to adequately strengthen the team thus far.

The Merseysiders must expeditiously finalize a deal for a playmaker to replace Fabinho, and reports suggest that Fluminense’s Andre might be the one to replace his compatriot at Anfield.

According to UOL, the Brazilian team would prefer to keep their prized asset until December before selling it for a sum of roughly 25 to 30 million euros.

However, as claims that Liverpool are willing to swiftly complete the signing of the Selecao player during the current transfer window.

The renowned Spanish news outlet reported that the South American club would demand a fee of £26m-£34m (30-40 million euros) if they had to offload the defensive midfielder this summer.

After Andre, there are other Premier League teams besides the six-time European champions.

The media outlet based in Madrid reports that Fulham is also trying to sign him and that they even had a bid of 20 million euros rejected during the winter transfer window.

Romeo Lavia, a former DM for Manchester City, is still rumored to be interested in joining Liverpool, despite Southampton making no concessions.

Liverpool have had a stormy start to the summer transfer window with the arrivals of Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai, but now Jugren Klopp and company are not having it so easily

Liverpool’s first Premier League match of the new 2023-24 season is just over a week away, but the Reds may not have completed their biggest move of the summer.

It’s been a busy few months for Jurgen Klopp and company, who have welcomed Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai in deals worth £45m and £60m respectively, but Liverpool are not done yet as they gear up for Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in next Sunday’s opening match. Following the departures of longtime midfielders Jordan Henderson and Fabinho, Klopp is looking to add a third new addition to his engine room.

As well as keeping tabs on Brazilian prodigy Andre, the likes of Moises Caicedo, Joshua Kimmich, Franck Kessie and Sofyan Amrabat have been linked, but Southampton starlet Romeo Lavia has emerged as Klopp’s main target. However, the Reds aren’t finding it easy to get hold of him, as a new development has just demonstrated. Here’s a roundup of the latest transfer news from Anfield.

Liverpool suffer another blow from Lavia
After their second £41million transfer offer was rejected, Liverpool have been told Romeo Lavia will be ‘involved’ in Southampton’s first game of the season on Friday night and will travel to Sheffield on Wednesday after returning to the Championship. After being relegated from the Premier League, Saints have appointed Russell Martin as manager, who has confirmed 19-year-old Belgium midfielder Lavia will join Hillsborough.

“It looks like the two will be involved tomorrow night. I don’t know if anything will change by then,” Martin said on Thursday. “Do I think they will be Southampton players by the end of the deadline? I have no idea. What I hope and what I think are probably very different.”

Liverpool transfer roundup: Reality Romeo Lavia bites Reds as alternative offer 'made'
Liverpool have offered Celta Vigo 25m euros (£21.5m) to sign Gabri Veiga and send him back on loan, according to Spanish outlet COPE via Estadio Deportivo. The 21-year-old Veiga is valued at €40m by former Reds manager Rafa Benitez’s squad, but Anfield officials are hoping to win them over with a loan deal.

Spain’s youth national team were recently heartbroken at the Under-21 European Championship, losing to England in the final after a goal from Liverpool’s Curtis Jones. Veiga, who can play in multiple central positions, has also been linked with a move to Arsenal. The Premier League kicks off on August 12. You can now subscribe for 18 months at a discounted deal, meaning you can follow all the Premier League action throughout the 2023/2024 season.

    Oxlade-Chamberlain evaluates offers

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain remains a free agent after being sacked by Liverpool but has an offer from Turkish giants Besiktas which he is currently considering. BBC Sport report that the former Reds dynamo, whose time at Anfield was marred by injury, has a two-year contract on the table, while Saudi clubs are also interested in his services.

Countrymen Nathan Redmond and Dele Alli played for Besiktas last season but both have since returned to the Premier League. The Istanbul-based club are also interested in signing Demarai Gray, although the Everton winger has been revealed to prefer a move to Fulham.

In-progress transfer talks could result in the departure of a Liverpool youngster who was regarded highly enough to make his Champions League debut under Jürgen Klopp.

As negotiations with League One team Oxford United advance, Max Woltman, a forward in the Liverpool academy, is on the verge of leaving the organization.

The 2-1 Champions League victory over AC Milan at the San Siro in December 2021 marked the 19-year-old’s first-team debut under Jürgen Klopp.
He has been a member of Liverpool since he was seven years old.

Woltman, however, returned to Liverpool’s under-23s squad for the remainder of the season after a loan stint at Doncaster Rovers last term where he struggled for playing time.

Manager Liam Manning has taken notice of Woltman as he has been playing for Oxford in various friendlies over the summer. Woltman is not an immediate impact player for the team, according to Manning, who views him as a development project.

Manning said (via the ECHO) “We’re talking to Liverpool and exploring what that looks like. “It’s more of a development project than something that will immediately have an effect on the team,” the author said. I believe he is the kind of player who fits how we want to play, considering his personality, character, and some of the qualities he displayed in brief moments.

“We don’t have the next one coming up under that when you look at the competition in his position with Ruben Rodrigues and Billy Bodin. The main factor is how the deal is structured. Everything depends on how the deal ultimately turns out. ”.

Woltman has scored twice in 13 appearances for Barry Lewtas’ under-23 team since his return to Liverpool in January. He was, nonetheless, ineligible to take part in the UEFA Youth League games.

Oxford, which placed 19th in League One last season, is looking to add players to its roster in preparation for the 2023–24 season. It would gain a promising young talent for the future from the potential acquisition of Woltman.

Martin Skrtel looks unrecognisable and now plays ‘like Messi’ seven years after leaving Liverpool

    Martin Skrtel
Liverpool ECHO’s LFC head writer Ian Doyle spoke to ex-Reds defender Martin Skrtel in Singapore to chat about life at Anfield and after

For anyone who hasn’t seen Martin Skrtel in a while, the look of him might come as a shock.

Notorious for his aggressively shaved head during his playing days at Liverpool, the former defender walks into Singapore’s Ritz-Carlton hotel sporting a coiffure.

“It’s not fake!” He smiles. “A lot of people have now said that I don’t look as scary or ugly anymore, so I think I’ll keep it!”

However, this is nothing compared to how Skrtel now enjoys playing football. The former centre-back, who retired last year, is making good on his promise playing for local club FK Hajskala Raztocno. “You wouldn’t believe it, but now I’m the striker for them!” he tells ECHO. “Actually, I’m more of a Messi-like player in the sense that I go where I want. When I left my village at 15 to play professionally, I told my friends that one day, when I retire, I would go back to play with them again.

“And they remembered, so the last few years of my career they called me and said, ‘Stop it, we want to play you again!’ When I retired my fitness was clearly not the best, but I wanted to keep my promise, so I went back.

“It’s the lowest division in Slovakia, the level isn’t the best. In the first game I was central defender and I like to pass the ball from behind but there was nobody to pass to. So I said to the coach: ‘Maybe I should move to midfield and have a little more ball’. So I stayed there all season and scored a few goals. I like it because it’s different. You just played the game and had a few beers afterwards. That’s great!”

Skrtel, now 38, was among a group of former players invited to join Liverpool’s tour in Singapore. And he enjoyed seeing familiar faces again after leaving Jurgen Klopp in the summer of 2016 at the end of his first season as manager.

    Martin Skrtel
“Being part of the club again and seeing how happy the fans are to see me again is something special and an honor for me,” he said. “I am grateful for. Unfortunately I have only returned to Anfield three times since I left as I was always busy playing.

I’ve been back for two Legends games and also to perform there as we’re making a movie about my career. I was there to film some things. It’s always nice to come back. Now that I’m retired I have more free time and I hope to be able to come back more often”.

The Liverpool chapter of Skrtel’s film debut began when he joined Zenit St Petersburg for a £6.5m fee in January 2008. But while he knew there was an opportunity to move to Merseyside, it came as a surprise to the former Slovakian international that he was at Anfield.

“It’s a pretty funny story,” he says. “I’ve always dreamed of going to England and talked a lot about it with my agent. Just before signing for Liverpool, I played for Zenit in the UEFA Cup against Everton at the Goodison, and after the match there were rumors that Everton would have gone to me asked.

“At the time I wasn’t thinking about any particular club, I just wanted to go to England and tell my agent that if he could find something it would be great. “Then he called me and said we were going to England for talks with a club and in my mind I thought it was Everton. But when he then said it was Liverpool, I “I was shocked. I never dreamed of joining such a big club with so many great players. It was a great moment for me and my family and I’m very happy that it happened.”

Skrtel made over 300 appearances for the Reds, scoring in the 2012 League Cup final win over Cardiff City and being named Player of the Season in 2011/12. However, his first start for the club in the FA Cup against Havant & Waterlooville didn’t quite go to plan. “To be honest, the start of my career at Liverpool wasn’t the best,” he said, after conceding an own goal that afternoon. “I arrived as an unknown player without much experience and people may have had high expectations of me when I signed.

But I just tried to do my best and learn from my teammates and improve every day. At that time, Rafa Benitez helped me a lot, supporting me all the time and trying to make me more confident. After that my time at Liverpool got better and better.”

Skrtel is one of the few players to have played under five different managers at Liverpool. He started out at Benitez, worked with Roy Hodgson, Kenny Dalglish and Brendan Rodgers, and finally Jurgen Klopp. “Everyone was different,” she says. “Rafa brought me to the club, he was the first great manager I met, even though I was at Zenit with Dick Advocaat. When you work at Liverpool with Rafa Benitez, it’s a different thing. He taught me a lot, he spoke to me every day and tactically he gave me more than any other coach.

    Martin Skrtel in
“When he left Roy Hodgson came in and had a different style but it was only a short time with him. Then it was Kenny, then Brendan and of course Jürgen, with whom I spent little time.

“I try to take something away from every manager I work with. They are all experienced managers and good people. I was very lucky to have them at Liverpool, they were always nice to me and tried to make me a better player.”

Skrtel, like Liverpool, were elusive for the Premier League title until they ended a 30-year championship wait in 2020. However, there were exciting title fights under Benitez in 2008/ 09 and Rodgers in 2013/14. “Every team is different, with different players and different styles of play,” says Skrtel. “I wouldn’t try to pick a better team out of the two. It’s just a shame we didn’t manage to win.

“In 2009 it was Torres, Alonso, Gerrard and Hyypia, but in 2014 it was Coutinho, Sturridge, Suarez, Sterling. If you put them together it could be the best team in the world!

The 2013/14 season saw Skrtel arguably his best game for Liverpool and one of Anfield’s most famous games of the Premier League era, the 5-1 win over Arsenal which saw the Reds lead 4 -0 in They also hit the post and missed two more big chances. “People always come up to me and talk about this game,” Skrtel says. “I actually had a conversation with an Arsenal fan about it this week.

“I had never scored two goals in a game before. We had a free kick down the left early on and Stevie (Gerrard) was about to shoot it and signaled he was going to shoot it in the space I ran into and shot. After 10 minutes we had a corner and I was like, ‘Well, it’s not against me because I’ve already shot’, but it happened and I fired again. It was crazy!

“You don’t score many goals as a defender so I was happy with every one of them. So this game was special in a special season. At this point Arsenal were ahead. We beat Tottenham 4- 0 at home and Everton 4-0 at home this year. It was a great season but unfortunately we couldn’t finish at the top.”

After leaving Liverpool, Skrtel spent most of the rest of his career in Turkey, first with Fenerbahce and then Basaksehir before spending a final season in Slovakia with Spartak Trnava. However, there was also a very brief stint in Italy where he soon realized that playing in a three-man defense was not his forte.

“Atalanta are a big club but I felt it was not the right choice and after three weeks I decided to cancel the contract,” explains Skrtel. “I just felt like moving there was the wrong decision. There were rumors of a falling out with the manager, but it wasn’t true. I went back to Turkey and won the league when from my first season with Basaksehir, so it worked well for me.

To this day, and Skrtel believes that while the Liverpool team has a new look, one aspect hasn’t changed. “We’re talking about Liverpool, one of the biggest teams in the world,” he says. “The goals should always be the highest for this season. But of course we know how competitive the Premier League is and it will never be easy with clubs like Manchester City, Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea.

“But with the quality we have in the squad – new players have come in and some have left – I saw them here in Singapore against Leicester and they look strong. If the players can keep fit and the squad stays strong, it’s going Well”. It will be a long and hard season, I believe Liverpool can get back to where they belong.”

The £38 million player, who is now very close to joining Chelsea, has a huge fan in Laurence Stewart.

Axel Disasi: Chelsea acquires the France international defender from Monaco for £38.8 million.
Axel Disasi, a French defender who is currently close to joining Chelsea, is reportedly a huge fan of Laurence Stewart.

That is what Nathan Gissing, writing on Gianluca Di Marzio’s website, claims.

Let’s take a look at the most recent information regarding Axel Disasi and Chelsea.

    Why is this happening?

The France international is reportedly a favorite of Stamford Bridge’s Technical Director Stewart, who started negotiations to bring him in from Monaco back in April.

Disasi has reportedly undergone a medical at Chelsea ahead of a £38 million move to west London, and an official announcement is anticipated soon, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Prior to Todd Boehly hiring him to direct a rebuild at Chelsea, Stewart actually worked for Monaco from 2020 to 2023.

In August 2020, shortly after beginning his employment with the Ligue 1 team, the 37-year-old acquired Disasi from Reims.

Therefore, Stewart undoubtedly has a wealth of knowledge about the 25-year-old, and it is telling that he believes the central defender is now proficient enough to represent Chelsea.

Regardless of whether they support the move or not, fans will always be able to voice their opinions on transfers. However, when a person like Stewart has clearly done extensive research on a player, it can be difficult to be opposed to the transaction.

At Chelsea, Axel Disasi must engage in combat right away.

Given the other central defenders in the Argentine squad, it will be interesting to see if Mauricio Pochettino chooses to start Disasi right away.

Since the South American typically lines up with a standard back four, Chelsea can choose from Levi Colwill, Thiago Silva, Benoit Badiashile, and Trevoh Chalobah to fill two positions in the center of defense.

Wesley Fofana, who is also at Stamford Bridge, might not play in the 2023–24 season due to a torn knee ligament.

In order to earn a spot in Pochettino’s starting XI, Disasi will therefore need to make a very good first impression on the coach.

Chelsea injury news: Christopher Nkunku raises injury concerns for the Blues ahead of next week’s game against Liverpool

Chelsea have completed their preparations for the season and are just eight days away from their Premier League season opener against Liverpool.

The Blues are hoping for full squad availability for the match at Stamford Bridge but will be sweating the fitness of new signing Christopher Nkunku. With three wins and two draws in friendlies as part of a pre-season tour of the United States, head coach Mauricio Pochettino has given fans plenty of hope to reverse the sad conclusion of last season .

One of the new faces on board is Nkunku, who joined the Blues from RB Leipzig in the summer after agreeing to move months ago. The striker kicked off the Bundesliga and was the league’s top scorer despite missing the majority of games. This was due to injury concerns, something he has occasionally struggled with in his career so far and something the West London side will want to avoid. There were signs the Frenchman was improving his fitness this summer, but that took a turn against Borussia Dortmund.

With Nkunku at risk of being sidelined for the new season, here’s a look at the latest developments regarding the new Chelsea player’s injury concerns.

Christopher Nkunku's latest Chelsea injury: Liverpool concern, big boost, Pochettino claim
According to a report by The Guardian, Chelsea are optimistic that Nkunku has not suffered a serious injury, but there are doubts that he will be ready for the opening game of the season. The Blues await more information on the extent of the problem, but the striker could miss the match against Liverpool. Complaint by Mauricio Pochettino

Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino has claimed Nkunku is under investigation due to injury concerns following his substitution against Borussia Dortmund. He told reporters: “The doctors are examining him. He had a chance to score but he feels something in his knee.

“Hopefully it’s not a big deal and he can settle into the team quickly. We need a few days to assess him and until we get back to London it’s is hard to say.” We always take risks because the ground is not perfect because it is used for different sports and sometimes it is the risk of the Tour.

“I think the situation was a bit unfortunate, but we can’t complain about the pitch and blame the pitch for why he got injured. It was bad luck for me.

Christopher Nkunku raises injury concerns for Chelsea after the striker was substituted 22 minutes into a pre-season friendly against Borussia Dortmund. The Frenchman suffered a knock to his knee which forced the change in the first half as the new season approached.

This summer, Manchester City and the Blues have both shown interest in the winger.

And Palace manager Roy Hodgson has acknowledged that there are teams “circling” his star player.

As Liverpool’s transfer ruse ends, André’s move was expedited and Roméo Lavia was signed in the perfect summer.

André move quickly and Roméo Lavia signed in ideal summer as Liverpool transfer trick fades
Liverpool still have work to do in the transfer market, with moves for Andre and Roméo Lavia possible while an FSG transfer trick could fail.

Liverpool know what to do with the end of the summer just 29 days away. In exactly 29 days – from the minute this article is published – the transfer window will close.

The search for a new number six is the order of the day, with Curtis Jones and others having stepped into that role over the past few weeks. However, a permanent solution could not be found. Thiago Alcântara and Stefan Bajčetić are expected to return to full training soon, but the former is not perfect for that role, which has many defensive needs, while the latter is only 18 years old.

But there will be no economic solution for Liverpool, not least because the Reds have poured $66m (£52m / €60m) from Saudi Arabia for Jordan Henderson and Fabinho.

André’s move accelerated and Roméo Lavia signed in Liverpool’s ideal summer

What more needs to be done in the transfer window to make Liverpool feel they have done everything possible to have a good season in which to collect trophies?

At least one midfielder is an absolute must. Ideally there would be two players, with Roméo Lavia and André Trindade currently the two prominent midfield options. Then there is an urgent need for another defender, with left-back priority. A central defender is a must for Klopp’s team balance.

A \’Moneyball\’ transfer trick vanishes for FSG

FSG have long been associated with a ‘moneyball’ approach to transfers, where a shortage in the transfer market can leave excellent players freely available for picking while other clubs look elsewhere.

But one of those moves – buying from relegated sides – changed this summer. Where Liverpool could once pick up players like Andy Robertson, Gini Wijnaldum and Xherdan Shaqiri for next to nothing, this is no longer the case.

Given interest from West Ham United, Southampton are sticking to their valuation of James Ward-Prowse, while the same can be said of Lavia, with Liverpool keen but so far unwilling to pay the price. asked for $64m (£50m/€58m) to be paid.

The replacement for Fabinho may already be found, according to Jurgen Klopp, the manager of Liverpool.

Before the start of the new Premier League season, Jurgen Klopp will need to fill the void left by Fabinho's departure.
Before the start of the new Premier League season, Jurgen Klopp will need to fill the void left by Fabinho’s departure.

Fabinho’s replacement at Liverpool, Curtis Jones, has been mentioned by Jurgen Klopp, who was impressed with the 22-year-old at the end of the previous campaign. Fabinho, a Brazilian midfielder who spent five years with the Reds on Merseyside, announced on Monday that he would be leaving the team after a reported £40 million move to Al-Ittihad.

Jordan Henderson was sold to Al-Ettifaq a few days prior to Fabinho’s departure, leaving Liverpool worryingly short of options in the middle of the park less than a fortnight before the start of the new season. The six-time European champions will undoubtedly try to add some new players before the summer transfer window closes, but Klopp has suggested that Jones might be a surprise choice to fill the void.

The Liverpool manager stated during a press conference in Singapore that Jones is undoubtedly one of the options in the current setup and the composition of the squad. “I think it’s no secret that we are still looking for players to join us; however, using what you already have is equally important, and I think Curtis can play that position with no problem.

“Can he play it when no one else in the team is defending? No, there’s no chance, but then again, I don’t know any player who can do that. But if you truly comprehend the current state of affairs, a proven 6 is not currently available. Do we offer an explanation for this?

“A lot of things can happen during the season; this has always been true. We approach it as a challenge and work to find a solution that is nonetheless compact. With the ball in his hands, Curtis can without a doubt make a significant impact. His growth over the past few months since he’s been here, in my opinion, has been truly amazing.

“Held back by some injuries sustained at the wrong time and for too long. It’s not anyone’s fault; it just happens to young players. The steps he took prior to that were excellent. It makes sense for him to be on the field. If no one else is there, he can definitely play that position. “.

Before the start of the new Premier League season, Jurgen Klopp will need to fill the void left by Fabinho's departure.
Jones played in the Premier League only 18 times last season, but the latter part of the year was arguably when he was at his best while playing for Liverpool. When Jones was given responsibility by Klopp for running the show in the backroom, he frequently excelled in the middle of the park and the Reds went on to win all 11 of their final games.

It’s unclear whether he will be able to continue where he left off when the new season starts, but Klopp’s high praise suggests that he will at least be given the chance to prove himself in Fabinho’s absence. Romeo Lavia of Southampton is rumored to be one of the players Liverpool is considering signing, so it wouldn’t be surprising to see them search the market for another midfielder.

It has always been the case that a lot can happen during the season. We consider it a challenge and work to be as compact as possible despite that. Without a doubt, Curtis can make a significant impact from that position when in possession. His growth over the past few months since he’s been with us, in my opinion, has been truly amazing.

“Held back by some accidents that happened at the wrong time and for too long. Nobody is at fault; it simply occurs with young players. He had taken some really good steps prior to that. It makes sense to have him on the field. If no one else is available, he can definitely play that position. “.

Jones only made 18 appearances in the Premier League last season, but the latter part of the year was arguably when he played his best football while playing for Liverpool. When Klopp gave Jones the responsibility of running the show in the backroom, where he frequently excelled, the Reds went on to win all 11 of their final games.

It is unclear whether he will be able to continue where he left off when the new campaign gets underway, but Klopp’s high praise suggests that he will at least be given the chance to prove himself in Fabinho’s absence. Romeo Lavia of Southampton is rumored to be one of the players Liverpool is considering when searching the transfer market for a new midfielder. However, this would not be unexpected.

  • According to Alex Zinchenko, Liverpool have an attacker who is truly better than Riyad Mahrez

    Oleksandr Zinchenko
Arsenal defender Oleksandr Zinchenko has named Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah as his toughest opponent ever.

Zinchenko has struggled quite a bit with Salah over the years, both at Manchester City and now at Arsenal. The Ukrainian mainly plays at left-back and has often been used directly against Mo.

When asked by Rio Ferdinand on his YouTube channel FIVE what is the toughest player he has ever played against, Zinchenko’s response was perhaps unsurprising.

“I think it’s salah, I think it’s salah,” the 26-year-old replied. “With all due respect to others, including Riyad [Mahrez] because I played against him at Leicester. He is [Salah] an absolutely explosive and unstoppable fuller.

“What Liverpool did so well, especially when [Gini] Wijnaldum was there, because Wijnaldum is more box-to-box. Community Shield game against Liverpool [in 2019], penalties, we won that game. Mikel [ Arteta] was still there and I went into the dressing room at half time and said, ‘Mikel, what am I supposed to do with this?

“‘[Virgil] Van Dijk on the ball, plays left with right foot, no pressure, strikes first, Wijnaldum runs behind me and [Nicolas] Otamendi, I have to protect inside, Salah sinks, the ball at his feet and distance between me and Salah, 50 meters. Imagine his pace against me, I’m done. What should I do, there were about five balls like that in a row.

“He said: ‘The only way is to ask Raz (Sterling), who was playing on the left, to go a little further to leave Trent. “Staying with Salah is a big gap for Wijnaldum. And if Mo puts the ball at his feet and picks up the pace…it’s impossible, impossible.”

    Zinchenko pays tribute to Salah

Anyone who has ever seen Zinchenko take on Salah knows exactly what the Arsenal man is talking about here.

    Oleksandr Zinchenko
Whenever Pep Guardiola decided to use the Ukraine international against the Reds, it was always good news. He just didn’t know how to behave around Mo.

It’s no news that the Egyptian King of Liverpool is one of the toughest players of this generation. His records speak for themselves and regardless of his age, he always seems to be one step ahead of his opponents.

Still, Salah often doesn’t get the recognition he deserves in the world of football. So it’s nice to hear that he does his duty from time to time.

It’s also interesting to hear Zinchenko talk about the role Wijnaldum played in making Salah a tougher proposition. Gini was another whose hard work often went unnoticed, but that only underlines that he was absolutely crucial to everything Liverpool did.

Two years after his departure, the Reds may still need to replace him. New signing Alexis Mac Allister appears to be closest to that goal, but it’s still early days for him.

With Liverpool giving off some negativity due to a lack of transfer deals, it’s nice to think back on those happy days. Of course, Zinchenko has yet to face Salah and you can bet Mo will find out. Next time might be the hardest for Alex.

If conditions at the London Stadium weren’t already dire, it appears that West Ham will lose one of their highly regarded defenders to Liverpool.

It’s unclear whether David Moyes personally, Tim Steidten, the new technical director, or owner David Sullivan are to blame for the manager’s inability to make any purchases in the current transfer market.

Realistically, it doesn’t really matter who is at fault because it is imperative that new players enter the game right away.

East Londoners should be doing everything in their power to stop the vultures from circling rather than allowing other players to leave the game, even though it’s probably too late for Amara Nallo.

According to Football Insider, the 16-year-old is in advanced negotiations with the Reds, which raises the question of what the Reds’ recruitment department is up to given that he reportedly only recently signed a scholarship contract with the Hammers.

It’s mentioned by Football Insider that the player will be able to sign professional contracts when he turns 17 in November, but that still doesn’t explain how Liverpool managed to snag one of the up-and-coming talents from under the noses of the east Londoners.

It appears as though West Ham is operating in a total panic, making poor decisions left and right.
