In his unsuccessful first season at Liverpool, Fabio Carvalho has claimed he was played out of position.

The 20-year-old attacker, who switched from Fulham to Liverpool in 2022, was considered one of the brightest prospects in European football.

Carvalho saw his playing time decrease in the second half of the season despite a promising start that included goals in the 9-0 victory over Bournemouth and a match-winning goal in the 98th minute against Newcastle.

The 20-year-old Harvey Elliott started 18 Premier League games for the Reds while the Portugal Under-21 international made just four. He is now on loan to RB Leipzig for the upcoming season.

Carvalho discussed his first year at Anfield with international Bundesliga reporters, suggesting that he was denied the chance to demonstrate his talent in his preferred “number 10” position.

“I feel like the position I have been playing on the left, which is not really my position, is the reason it hasn’t worked at Liverpool,” he said. Although I was told to arrive and play as a 10, we don’t actually use a 10 in our games. In Leipzig, however, we play with two 10s. I’m able to move forward and turn more easily now that I can get inside. Therefore, I would probably say that is the cause of why it didn’t work out. “.

RB Leipzig initially showed the most interest, and Dominik Szoboszlai, who moved the other way to Liverpool for £60 million, took Dominik’s place in the move to Germany. It was essentially a no-brainer because I’m familiar with how they play and their playing style, and because it fits in well with who I am.

    “My playing style is creative.
    I have excellent judgment.

I put in a lot of effort, not only for the team but also for myself. Dom is a very good player, but I don’t like talking about other players. We’ll see what the future holds, but I’m confident in my abilities and myself, so I know I’ll succeed for RB Leipzig. “.

After 2023–2024, Carvalho was asked if he planned to return to Anfield. He responded, “We don’t really know what happens next year, I may be here or may be at Liverpool. We’ll see; for now, I’ll just concentrate on this year and doing my very best. ”.

Speaking more favorably about his time at Liverpool, the young forward mentioned a number of Reds players who were supportive of him while he was at Anfield, with special praise for James Milner.

I learned the most from Firmino, Thiago, Milner, and Salah, he claimed. Milly adores the game. He enjoys mentoring and helping the younger boys. I’ve participated in a few sessions where, following the training, he would ask me, “Fabio, do you want to work on something?” We would then work on my positioning or finishing. Always willing to assist, he was. “.

With James Milner, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, and Naby Keita all departing, newcomers were even more needed. Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai were both acquired by Liverpool at the beginning of the transfer window.

Even though a third signing was always likely, with both Jordan Henderson and Fabinho looking to leave, it now seems even more essential. Lavia of Southampton has been mentioned as one of the Reds’ top options, but recent weeks have seen a slowdown in those discussions.

Liverpool has been searching the market for alternatives after being deterred by the south coast side’s reported £50 million asking price. The Crystal Palace star Cheick Doucoure has surfaced as a possible replacement, but he too would demand a hefty fee.

Looking to strengthen Jurgen Klopp's team, Liverpool is still engaged in the summer transfer window.
The transfer expert Fabrizio Romano claims that “contacts are being made with the player’s agents,” suggesting that Liverpool haven’t completely given up on trying to sign Lavia. Additionally, the report claims Liverpool is hoping to talk Southampton down from their initial £50 million demand.

According to reports, Liverpool is ‘trying to understand the final price tag’ in an effort to acquire the midfielder for less money. Before the transfer window closes, Klopp has already assured supporters that he will make at least one more signing.

He said, “There are so many things to do.”. “The transfer period has begun. I could easily fill them if my day had 28 hours at the moment.

“With all the things you have to do, my main focus and energy must go into the training sessions, so that’s what I do. After the sessions, I can try to assist with other things.

The first game of the season is still three and a half weeks away. There are undoubtedly a few transfer market-related events that need to take place before then. That is now obvious. And it will take place.
There must be a change of players.
    We’ll have a strong team. “.

Jürgen Klopp’s transfer window is planned out perfectly as the $55 million man “wants” to move to Liverpool.

Roméo Lavia and Levi Colwill are wanted by Liverpool.
A player valued at $55 million has expressed a desire to move to Anfield, so Liverpool should aim to complete two deals to give Jürgen Klopp the perfect transfer window.

The transfer window seems to have been divided in half, as if this is the calm before the storm. After Brighton’s Alexis Mac Allister, Liverpool announced the signing of Dominik Szoboszlai from RB Leipzig three weeks ago. Since then, the incoming front has been relatively quiet.

But now Liverpool has been propelled into action, accepting a Fabinho offer that was too good to pass up and granting Jordan Henderson’s wish to join him in the Saudi Pro League.

To fill the void left by Henderson, the Reds will only need to sign a new number six, and there is undoubtedly a case to be made that they will also need a new number eight.

In addition, it’s important to keep in mind that another center-back is also necessary, one who can serve as dependable backup for the time being and eventually transition into a starting position.

It may be unrealistic to anticipate that Liverpool will complete all of its outstanding tasks in the three weeks prior to the season opener against Chelsea, but it certainly seems as though things are about to pick up speed.

Roméo Lavia and Levi Colwill are wanted by Liverpool.

By bringing in Chelsea’s Levi Colwill and Southampton’s Roméo Lavia, Liverpool can complete the “perfect” transfer window, according to James Martin.

The Premier League’s homegrown quota could result in squad size restrictions for the Reds, but neither player would need to be registered because of their age.

They would eventually both meet the requirements for homegrown status, relieving the headache in the long run and providing a much-needed boost of quality in the short run. The whole story is available to read here.

Roméo Lavia and Levi Colwill are wanted by Liverpool.
Federico Chiesa desires a move to Liverpool.
According to journalist Marco Guidi of Gazzetta dello Sport, Juventus forward Federico Chiesa prefers Liverpool to other Premier League suitors Manchester United and Newcastle.

Chiesa, whose market value is $55 million ($43 million/€50 million), is’more inclined’ to sign with Liverpool or Bundesliga champion Bayern Munich, according to Corriere dello Sport.

Prior to signing Moussa Diaby from Bayer Leverkusen, Aston Villa was also mentioned, but Chiesa had no interest in joining Unai Emery’s team and was holding out for a more illustrious organization.

Given its current priorities and the Italian’s history of injuries, James Findlater has urged Liverpool to forgo any move. As we compile the most recent speculative material, you can read more here.

Jurgen Klopp experiences a double transfer setback as Anfield move rejected

    Leon Goretzka
Jordan Henderson and Fabinho’s impending departures have hurt Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, who had hoped to make a statement during this summer’s transfer window.

Liverpool needed to make a statement in the summer transfer window after a disastrous season last year.

They could have accomplished that, for example, by acquiring Kylian Mbappe from PSG. The captain of France, who has declared his intention to leave on a free transfer next summer, is being desperately sought after by the Ligue 1 champions.

With Jurgen Klopp being a huge fan, the Reds have been linked with a move for the attacker for a while. However, their attempt to steal him from Real Madrid has now run into a significant roadblock. Mirror Football compiles the most recent Mbappe and Liverpool transfer news here.

    Target rejects the Anfield maneuver.

    Leon Goretzka
Leon Goretzka, a target for Liverpool, has decided against leaving Bayern Munich. The Reds have been linked to the midfielder as they look to replace Jordan Henderson and Fabinho, who are both expected to leave for the Saudi Pro League.

Goretzka had moved up the Reds’ shopping list as Jurgen Klopp needed midfield reinforcements. But as of late, the 28-year-old has insisted he is content with his life at the Allianz Arena and is not looking to leave.

I simply want to stay here and I can only say that I love the club, the city, and the supporters. When asked about the rumors of his potential departure, the Bayern star responded to BILD by saying, “There are no thoughts of leaving the club.

Trent Alexander-Arnold should take the place of Fabinho and Jordan Henderson in midfield, according to Reds manager Klopp. The German had not anticipated losing both his captain and the Brazilian international this summer, though Jason McAteer thinks Alexander-Arnold is the ideal replacement.

“Fabinho and Henderson will have a significant impact on Trent’s outcome. He will undoubtedly need to enter the transfer market if we lose both of them, the former Liverpool player told LFCTV.

If the coach gets the players he wants, Trent might start on the right and move to the midfield area, as we saw last season. The option is open for him to start in midfield and someone else to fill the right-back spot if that doesn’t happen. ”.

    Massive Mbappe loss.

    Leon Goretzka
Liverpool’s hopes of acquiring Kylian Mbappe may be dashed after Al-Hilal made a massive £259 million bid to PSG for the Frenchman. With the intention of selling him, PSG has decided to leave Mbappe at home while their first team travels to Asia.

The star attacker, who won the World Cup with France in 2018, had been on the Reds’ radar. But with The Athletic reporting that Al-Hilal have made a world-record bid for the Frenchman, all hopes of bringing him to Anfield appear to be lost.

Al-Hilal is reportedly offering Mbappe a £700 million contract, making the price too high for Liverpool to compete with. Despite the fact that Mbappe has long desired to join Real Madrid, this generous offer might now tempt him to move to Saudi Arabia.

Liverpool are reportedly extremely worried that they won’t be able to sign a £60 million Premier League player this summer.

According to journalist Officials at Liverpool can’t stop thinking about their 23-year-old transfer target because “they love him.”
Liverpool is reportedly worried that they won’t be able to sign Joao Palhinha this summer after the Fulham midfielder hurt himself this week during preseason.

The Daily Mail claims that after Palhinha left the game against Brentford in Philadelphia injured with a dislocated shoulder, the Reds are waiting to see if they can make a move for the Portuguese international.

Liverpool is interested in Palhinha, who Fulham value at £60 million, to replace the player who is headed to Saudi Arabia, Fabinho. However, the Anfield team may be unable to complete the transfer of Palhinha due to his injury.

Liverpool already has one obstacle to overcome in their pursuit of luring the 28-year-old dynamo to Anfield this summer because West Ham are also interested in signing Palhinha.

Furthermore, this most recent injury development will benefit Liverpool because the window of opportunity to sign a midfielder to replace Fabinho and Jordan Henderson is rapidly closing.

Palhinha’s injury’s extent is, in fact, still unknown.
However, given that Liverpool is now fretting over the midfielder, it’s safe to assume that a deal for this summer may be off.

Palhinha to Liverpool may now be postponed until January.

According to journalist Officials at Liverpool can’t stop thinking about their 23-year-old transfer target because “they love him.”
Liverpool’s chances of signing the midfielder this summer may be all but destroyed if Palhinha is out for the next few weeks. A deal may now need to be delayed until the January window as a result.

Palhinha’s shoulder injury could realistically keep him out until September, just after the summer transfer window has closed, so Liverpool should start looking at new midfield targets at this time.

Palhinha could have been a dream signing for the Reds, and this injury has come at the worst possible time for Klopp and his team, even though other options are probably already on their minds.

Cheick Doucoure is reportedly on Liverpool’s analysts’ minds constantly, as the Reds are interested in signing the midfielder from Crystal Palace.

In light of growing rumors that Liverpool wants to sign Doucoure, journalist Graeme Bailey claims that Anfield officials are thinking about the Eagles star player.

Regarding Liverpool’s stance on the midfielder, Bailey responded, “Palace don’t need to sell and he’s an important player for them. According to what I’ve been told, he’s a real standout in the [Liverpool] analytics department. They adore him. ”.

The international player from Mali only recently switched to the south London club. The 23-year-old has, however, unmistakably caught the attention of Liverpool’s transfer officials, and a move may now be in the works.

Palace’s demands might be too much for the Reds to handle, but given Doucoure’s talent and potential—and the fact that club analysts are currently swooning over the former RC Lens superstar—it may be worthwhile for Liverpool to take the chance.

In fact, with Jordan Henderson and Fabinho scheduled to depart for the Middle East next week, Liverpool may start considering Doucoure as a potential replacement very soon.

Liverpool might be willing to take a chance on Doucoure.

Even though Doucoure had a strong season in the Premier League for Palace the previous year, he may be somewhat of an unknown quantity for Liverpool. The danger, though, might be worthwhile.

Although Doucoure may seem like an odd choice to some fans, Liverpool needs to sign a new defensive midfielder before the new season begins, and he could be the perfect choice.

Doucoure checks many of the boxes for what supporters should be looking for in a midfield addition—young, talented, and experienced in the Premier League—and a positive evaluation from Liverpool officials should help sweeten any deal for the Anfield faithful.

Given the $45 million release clause, Liverpool should sign’magic’ talent before Pep Guardiola does.

Given the $45 million release clause, Liverpool should sign'magic' talent before Pep Guardiola does.
By acquiring a Premier League player with an appealing release clause before Chelsea and Manchester City, Liverpool can make up for a transfer blunder it made in 2021.

Harvey Elliott, a Liverpool prospect from the 2020–21 season, shone while on loan at Blackburn Rovers, a team in the Championship. Elliott scored seven goals and, even more impressively, assisted 11 more in his first season of regular men’s football for Tony Mowbray’s team.

In fact, he did so well that, by the time he returned to Liverpool for preseason the following summer, Jürgen Klopp had included him in his first-team plans.

Elliott, however, wasn’t at that time the most outstanding teen athlete in that second tier. Instead, Reading’s Michael Olise won the award for the Championship’s Young Player of the Season after matching his counterpart’s goal total but adding one more assist.

Olise, who was named to the PFA Team of the Year, attracted interest from a number of elite European clubs, including Monaco, Borussia Dortmund, RB Leipzig, Napoli, and Liverpool (via TeamTalk).

The Frenchman would ultimately sign with Crystal Palace, and ever since, he has appeared to be a major coup for the Eagles.

In 63 Premier League appearances, he has only scored four goals, but more importantly, during that time he has set up a respectable 16 goals. Only Kevin de Bruyne (16 assists) and Mohamed Salah (12 assists) had more assists than he did in the previous campaign. He also finished seventh overall among the big five leagues in Europe.

It is clear from Olise’s inclusion in the top 10 for expected assisted goals (8.7) that he was developing quality opportunities in addition to his exceptional finishing.

He has seven caps for France Under-21, was selected for the squad that competed in the European Championships last month, and appears to be a lock to play for the senior team in the not-too-distant future after establishing himself as one of the top young players in the league.

Indeed, Olise won Selhurst Park’s Player of the Season award, which comes as no surprise given comments like this from teammate Joel Ward.

He referenced Michael’s special talent through football.
    london.
“The world is his oyster, and he just keeps getting better from game to game, so I think he’s going to go onto new heights and set the bar. He will achieve extraordinary things if he keeps acting in that manner.

“They [Olise and teammate Eberechi Eze] definitely make my life a little bit easier when I can just pass the ball to them, and they go and do their magic!”.

Given the $45 million release clause, Liverpool should sign'magic' talent before Pep Guardiola does.

Olise has been so impressive that Chelsea and Manchester City have both shortlisted him as a transfer target for this summer, sensing the chance for a huge bargain given the player’s $45 million (£35 million/€40 million) release clause (via Fabrizio Romano).

A $50 million (£39 million/€45 million) offer has already been made by Chelsea, according to the French publication RMC Sport, and it may be an effort to outbid Manchester City.

Well, it’s worth pointing out that Olise would represent a very different kind of winger to Salah, so there isn’t really a case for Liverpool to come back into the race and match that offer.

He is a one-on-one threat, similar to the Egyptian, finishing 10th in the league for successful take-ons last season (54), but he is more appropriately referred to as a wide creator than a wide scorer.

This can be seen in his total of 242 crosses attempted in 2022–2023, which was only surpassed by Trent Alexander–Arnold (252) and Newcastle United’s Kieran Trippier (195).

If Olise were to sign, he would be seen as Salah’s long-term replacement, and Liverpool would advance as the goal-scoring load was transferred from the winger to a number nine with plenty of options, such as Darwin Nez.

The manager Roy Hodgson has ruled him out for the foreseeable future after he underwent surgery for a “serious” hamstring injury, which is an important point to emphasize here (per the Evening Standard). He would also not be able to have an immediate impact.

While it is a factor, the initial estimates indicated he could be sidelined for up to three months (per The Athletic). However, if he performs to his full potential, this setback might not even be noticed.

Of course, Liverpool has already expressed interest in Cheick Doucouré, a teammate of Olise’s who is reportedly valued at $90 million (£70 million/€81 million), as it seeks to fill a void in the number six position (per The Mail).

It might be worthwhile for the Reds to consider a daring double raid in order to make up for its earlier error of failing to sign Olise.

Liverpool is searching the market for the best player at the best price to join Jurgen Klopp's transformed midfield.
Liverpool is searching the market for the best player at the best price to join Jurgen Klopp’s transformed midfield.

Although Dominik Szoboszlai and Alexis Mac Allister joined Liverpool in quick succession, the Reds’ search for a third midfielder has slowed down, and they may have recently suffered a setback. Romeo Lavia, Cheick Doucoure, and Ryan Gravenberch are just a few of the names that have been mentioned in connection with Liverpool moves.

However, the Reds are still considering other options, with Fulham star Joao Palhinha being mentioned as one of them. Before Fulham swooped in to sign him last summer, Liverpool was interested in the Portuguese midfielder.

Palhinha, 28, suffered a serious shoulder injury this week during a preseason friendly, and Liverpool may have to let him go this summer. Palhinha “probably dislocated” his shoulder, according to Fulham manager Marco Silva, who also confirmed it was a “serious” injury.

It doesn’t seem promising, regrettably. Silva told Fulham’s official website, “It’s serious, but let’s hope it’s not too serious. He probably has a dislocated shoulder. He’s going to conduct a scan the following day, after which I’ll be better able to update you on the circumstance.

Liverpool is searching the market for the best player at the best price to join Jurgen Klopp's transformed midfield.
“Let’s hope it’s not another serious injury for us. Palhinha might not have been Liverpool’s top choice, especially considering Fulham’s asking price of about £80 million, but his injury undoubtedly reduces Klopp’s market options.

Players suffering new injuries as preseason begins is the transfer reality that every manager dreads during the summer transfer window. Twelve months ago, Liverpool also struggled with injuries as numerous midfielders picked up injuries during preseason practice.

Manu Kone was spotted using crutches at the U21 European Championships, indicating how injuries have already hampered Liverpool’s transfer plans this summer. Additionally, Szoboszlai sustained a wound during practice, keeping him from playing in yesterday’s friendly match against Greuther Furth.

He is not believed to have suffered a serious injury, and it is anticipated that he will rejoin the fight soon. However, with Fabinho and Jordan Henderson now reportedly on the verge of leaving the organization, Klopp will be wary of running out of options in the midfield once more.

Liverpool should be prepared for the unexpected when it comes to their summer targets, though Palhinha’s unexpected injury setback during preseason also serves as a warning.

A transfer issue that Liverpool is well aware of is set to be forced by Kylian Mbappé.

A transfer issue that Liverpool is well aware of is set to be forced by Kylian Mbappé.
With the start of the new season just around the corner, Kylian Mbappé and PSG are not in a great position. In reverse, Liverpool has previously been in a situation like this.

Even if Kylian Mbappé plays out his PSG contract and departs when it expires next summer, the money he would demand would make it highly unlikely that Liverpool could afford to sign him.

Despite the fact that the 24-year-old has only recently been offered a 10-year contract to remain at PSG and earn $2.14m (£1.66m/€1.92m) each week for the rest of the next decade, someone somewhere is still likely to draw a comparison to Liverpool.

The world’s best player, Mbappé, is in turmoil as a result of his recent exclusion from PSG’s preseason trip to Japan due to his refusal to thus far reach an agreement on a new contract (the French giants suspect he has already informed Real Madrid he will join them in 2024).

According to Spanish outlet Marca, Real Madrid would have to pay more than $445 million (2£346 million/€400 million) to sign Mbappé this summer when you take into account his transfer fee, which could reach $173 million (£223 million/€200 million), as well as other expenses like his salary.

Real Madrid, at least for the time being, is not willing to commit that sum of money when it can work out a free transfer deal for the forward beginning in January. This stance seems reasonable, especially in light of the significant sum of money already spent this summer on Jude Bellingham.

All of that is creating a situation that is almost a mirror image of the one Liverpool found itself in with star player Philippe Coutinho six years ago, with Barcelona pushing to sign the Brazilian in mid-August.

In response to Barcelona’s second offer, which was worth $116 million (£90 million/€104 million), Coutinho submitted a transfer request, as The Guardian reported at the time. FSG was adamant that the then-25-year-old would not be permitted to leave on the eve of the start of a new Premier League season, even though he had only recently signed a new five-year contract.

A transfer issue that Liverpool is well aware of is set to be forced by Kylian Mbappé.
It’s not ideal for any club to enter a new season with uncertainty surrounding the future of their star player, and Liverpool has been there before. Coutinho was not allowed to leave that summer, but he played very well for six months before leaving for Barcelona the following January for a lot more money than was rumored to be paid.

However, for PSG, a situation in which the player wants to stay but the club wants him to leave is playing out.

When Mbappé’s three-year contract was announced last summer, it was actually only for two years with an option for a third.

With Mbappé having made clear that he does not intend to sign up for that final year, PSG is powerless at this moment in time to keep him until 2025 — in fact, it actively wants to move him on now in order to avoid losing out on a transfer fee for the most valuable player in the world.

In the case of Coutinho, which is the more typical scenario, Liverpool did not want to lose a crucial player and did not do so until a few months later on exorbitant terms. Mbappé is one of those players where the club wants him gone while the attacker would prefer to stay.

In either case, these transfer snafus usually only lead to parting ways. It appears unlikely that Mbappé will extend his contract with PSG, and it also appears unlikely that he will move anywhere else besides Real Madrid.

By giving in to Mbappé’s demands last summer, PSG was forced into a corner, whereas Liverpool had some control over the situation with Coutinho. The Ligue 1 team is now dealing with the repercussions.

Despite widespread rumors, it is untrue that Fabinho’s dogs are preventing his £40 million transfer to Al-Ittihad.

With the 29-year-old Brazilian left out of Liverpool’s preseason trip to Germany, Fabinho’s transfer to the Saudi Pro League has been steadily approaching completion for a few days.

He is anticipated to reunite with former coach Nuno Espirito Santo in the Middle East after PIF-backed Al-Ittihad made a £40 million offer for the midfielder.

Progress on the actual deal has been slow since word of the bid broke almost two weeks ago, which has given rise to some irrational theories about the reason why.

Widespread rumors over the weekend claimed that Fabinho’s transfer could still fall through because his pets—two French Bulldogs—wouldn’t be allowed into Saudi Arabia. These rumors appear to have originated from a Twitter user’s screenshot of the country’s strict dog ownership laws.

Florian Plettenberg of Sky Germany claimed separately that Bayern Munich was keeping an eye on Fabinho’s situation and could hijack a deal if something went wrong with the Saudi deal.

Globo Esporte, however, now claims that the dog’s story is just bark and no bite.

The Brazilian outlet claims to have gotten in touch with Fabinho’s entourage, who claim that the issue of whether dogs are allowed in Saudi Arabia “is not a concern and was never an obstacle in the transfer”.

The transfer is actually only being delayed by unidentified (non-canine related) “bureaucratic details.”.

According to information from last week, Fabinho has already passed a medical examination with his new team, and the only thing that appears to be holding up the transfer is the Saudi government’s sanctioning and release of funds.

Romeo Lavia and Cheick Doucoure are two candidates Liverpool are expected to focus on once Fabinho leaves.

Dominik Szoboszlai is now reportedly unlikely to play in Liverpool’s friendly game against Greuther Furth behind closed doors.

According to Ian Doyle of the Liverpool Echo, the Hungarian midfielder is believed to have rolled his ankle and will sit out the remainder of the team’s training camp as a preventative measure.

Although it’s unclear exactly how long the 22-year-old will be sidelined, it seems unlikely that his preseason will be significantly shortened beyond the aforementioned tie.

Without a doubt, Jurgen Klopp will be sighing with relief if his new star signing avoided suffering a serious injury setback.

Still, one must hope that Liverpool’s injury luck will improve in the upcoming season and that the midfielder, who makes £120,000 per week (according to Capology) can avoid any significant absences from the action.

If the 2022–23 season taught us anything, it’s that we cannot afford to skimp on young, dynamic midfielders if we are to have any chance of regaining our most devastating on-field form.

To return to their roots as a counter-pressing and high-pressing force to be feared, Klopp’s team has already made it clear that he wants to see that happen.

If we’re going to make that dream a terrifying reality for our opponents to deal with, they’re going to need dynamos like Szoboszlai running the show in the middle of the park.

Liverpool signed Jordan Henderson in a $120 million deal, according to sources.

Liverpool won't believe their bad luck with injuries as the £120,000 per year star will be out for a while.
According to sources cited by Football Insider, Jordan Henderson has finished a medical with Saudi club Al Ettifaq as he completes a Liverpool move that will cost an astounding £120 million overall.

The 33-year-old captain of Anfield has signed a three-year deal with the Saudi club, increasing his pay to £700,000 per week, or more than £36 million annually.

Henderson’s illustrious 12-year Anfield career will soon come to an end after Liverpool accepted a £12 million bid for him.

Henderson had his medical on Friday in Manchester and is now awaiting the paperwork to finalize the deal.

He is expected to join Gerrard’s team at their preseason training camp in Croatia the following week.

On July 14, Football Insider revealed in an exclusive that there had been progress in the negotiations and that Henderson had informed Liverpool that he wanted to leave.

On July 13, Football Insider also reported that Jurgen Klopp would not obstruct Henderson’s departure if the player told the club he wanted to leave.

The Reds are currently undergoing a major rebuild and have already lost two midfielders this summer, but they are now about to lose their captain of almost eight years.

When Steven Gerrard left Anfield in 2015 to become the team’s new manager, Henderson assumed control of the situation. Since then, Henderson has guided the team to victories in the Premier League, FA Cup, League Cup, Champions League, Uefa Super Cup, and Club World Cup.

football.london takes a look at Chelsea’s to-do list ahead of the start of the new 2023/24 season when Liverpool travel to Stamford Bridge in less than three weeks

There are now less than three weeks until Chelsea host Liverpool for their first Premier League game of the 2023/24 season at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues, now managed by Mauricio Pochettino, will be looking to start the season in perfect fashion as they look for a dramatic improvement from the dismal 2022/23 campaign. A 12th place finish for Chelsea means there will be no more European football next season. Although this is a blow for the club, it means they have more time to focus solely on the Premier League.

However, before Chelsea and Liverpool meet, the Blues still have three pre-season games to play and plenty of transfer deals to do.

Chelsea will complete their tour of the United States over the next few weeks while trying to attract several new players to the club as the club continues its rebuilding. The club are still in talks with Brighton over a deal to sign Moises Caicedo. Chelsea’s latest offer of around £70million has been turned down by the Seagulls, who are still waiting for more to sign the Ecuadorian.

Caicedo himself, who has made it clear he wants to join Stamford Bridge this summer, has been told by Brighton he can leave if he receives the right offer. football.london understands that Chelsea are preparing a third offer to try to land the 21-year-old, with the next few days proving crucial in a transfer saga.

Pochettino is keen on signing Caicedo as he looks to bolster his midfield options following the departures of N’Golo Kante, Mateo Kovacic and Ruben Loftus-Cheek. Players such as Andrey Santos and Cesare Casadei have both impressed in their two pre-season fixtures so far, but whether they will be loaned out for next season remains to be seen.

Meanwhile, the Blues remain interested in Lyon’s Rayan Cherki. As football.london reported earlier this month, initial contact had been made between Chelsea and representatives of the 19-year-old about a possible transfer and it was made clear to the Blues that Cherki would be open to a move to Stamford Bridge.

However, the French club are determined to keep Cherki beyond the summer transfer window. That said, they still aren’t ruling out the sale of the France Under-21 international if the right amount of money comes his way. However, there is no progress in Cherki at the moment and despite initial interest Chelsea have not made any concrete offers for the player or Lyon.

Michael Olise is a name that has been mentioned a lot on social media in the last 24 hours. Football.london know the Crystal Palace winger is someone Chelsea have valued for a long time, so a move wouldn’t be unusual for him.

These are just some of the names that will see plenty of movement over the next three weeks before Chelsea meet Pochettino in their competitive opener against Liverpool. However, the Argentine is yet to name a permanent captain following Cesar Azpilicueta’s departure earlier this month.

At the moment, Thiago Silva appears to be the favorite to receive the full-time armband, but there have also been some call-ups for Reece James. By the time Liverpool come to West London, there must surely be one.

We’re not even halfway through Chelsea’s pre-season plan, but the Premier League kick-off is just around the corner. There isn’t too much time to complete this “to do list”, but they will be working tirelessly behind the scenes to make sure it actually happens.

Liverpool have just glimpsed a duo capable of rivaling Erling Haaland and Kevin De Bruyne next season

A Liverpool duo who have already surpassed Manchester City superstars Kevin de Bruyne and Erling Haaland could be poised to explode in next season’s Premier League.

Five minutes into the second half of Liverpool’s pre-season friendly against Greuther Fürth on Monday, Harvey Elliott received the ball in the middle of his own half.

With plenty of room in front of him, Elliott was able to sweep a superb pass down the line to Mohamed Salah, who cut and slid back a perfectly weighted ball for Darwin Núñez’s diagonal run, allowing the number nine to get around the keeper and send him home.

Less than 10 minutes later, the same combination struck again when Salah made a pass to Núñez, who stopped him on the chest, struck the defender and finished calmly with the side of his foot.

That goal gave Liverpool a 3–1 lead, but after Fürth rallied to score three and turn the game around, the Uruguayan returned the favor in the dying minutes to salvage an equalizer by bowling a ball for Salah to convert after running away into the back again. After a frantic 45 minutes that were probably too open for Jurgen Klopp’s liking, the coach was left with one notable advantage: a taste of the duo’s explosive potential.

Liverpool have just glimpsed a duo capable of rivaling Erling Haaland and Kevin De Bruyne next season
Already in Núñez’s first season at Anfield, the two reached a unique understanding. As of 15 February, they were creating a chance for each other every 52 minutes on average – the best rate in the entire Premier League, according to Opta Joe.

Fulham’s Aleksandr Mitrović and Andreas Pereira returned to second place (63 minutes), with Spurs pair Dejan Kulusevski and Harry Kane in third (66 minutes) and feared Manchester City pairing Erling Haaland and Kevin de Bruyne in fourth (67 minutes).

To underscore how impressive that was, only two Liverpool pairings in the last 17 years have surpassed each other – Daniel Sturridge and Luis Suárez, and Luis Suárez and Philippe Coutinho – and even then they were both just a minute ahead, thanks to Michael Reid. The ceiling for that Salah and Núñez combo is arguably even higher as the Reds improve – remember the numbers come from a stage in the season when Liverpool were ninth in the table – and Núñez is really settling in.

While the former Benfica player scored four goals for the right-winger, Salah only assisted once and that was largely due to Núñez’s poor conversion of chances.

But if he can start to display the kind of sovereign composure he showed on Monday on a more consistent basis, and concede there will be more of a challenge in important games, then he could potentially be recognized as the best partnership in the division.

Six things were observed in the Liverpool match as Jürgen Klopp’s experiment may provide fresh transfer information.

Jürgen Klopp carried out an experiment from the Reds’ first game against Greuther Fürth as Liverpool continued its preseason preparations. We noticed this.

MS TECHNOLOGIE-ARENA, FÜRTH // Liverpool played Greuther Fürth in its second preseason friendly of the summer to wrap up its training camp in Germany. As they drew 4-4, Jürgen Klopp once more took advantage of the chance to put many of his players to the test.

After being denied just moments earlier, Luis Daz scored the game’s first goal with a well-placed finish midway through the first half. Shortly after the break, the hosts tied the score thanks to an error by James McConnell and Adrián, but a brilliant double from Darwin Nez appeared to have given the Reds another victory while on the road.

But Fürth came back, scoring twice through Armindo Sieb and Lukas Petkov to take an unexpected lead. But late in the game, Mohamed Salah was there to make sure the Reds didn’t lose.

While Jordan Henderson and Fabinho were still missing from the squad despite being close to moving to Saudi Arabia, there was another notable omission.

Alisson Becker returned to goal for Liverpool after missing the first game of the summer against Karlsruher. Dominik Szoboszlai missed the game after suffering an injury in practice, but there was a return for Alisson Becker.

The starting lineup adopted a much more recognizable composition, though Conor Bradley continued at right-back and Trent Alexander-Arnold started in midfield once more. Ben Doak replaced Mohamed Salah in the starting lineup, and Diogo Jota was chosen ahead of Nunez because of his two goals last week.

Jürgen Klopp carried out an experiment from the Reds' first game against Greuther Fürth as Liverpool continued its preseason preparations.
Here are the six key developments that Liverpool . com noticed throughout the match.

    Tip for transfer?

Trent Alexander-Arnold, a graduate of the academy, started in the six-position midfield role against Karlsruher as part of Klopp’s ongoing Trent Alexander-Arnold experiment. Conor Bradley played the hybrid right-back position.

Alexander-Arnold’s suitability for a permanent midfield position has been much discussed over the years, and it does appear that Klopp has been warming up to the idea more recently. We now have the ideal opportunity to examine Liverpool’s number 66 in a more advanced starting role with Fabinho and Henderson now seemingly out of the picture.

And his new position, however temporary it may end up being, comes at an especially good time given recent rumors that the Reds are preparing a bid for Joshua Kimmich of Bayern Munich (per Fichajes).

The German international would be perfect for the hybrid role moving forward and would provide an alternative option as Liverpool searches for Fabinho’s replacement. However, whether or not anything in the report is true remains to be seen. Maybe Klopp just demonstrated what his current transfer priorities are.

    yet another midfield choice.

Of course, the preseason is the ideal time for experimentation, and Klopp is making the most of his chance.

Cody Gakpo started as the number eight in the second preseason game, with Dominik Szoboszlai being rested.

The Netherlands international has experience playing this role; he did so against Brentford in the closing weeks of last season, and he undoubtedly fit the part.

And he once more displayed his adaptability by guarding the ball in his own half to make room further forward and launch Liverpool’s attack.

It’s understandable why many people view Gakpo as the ideal successor to Roberto Firmino, and he demonstrated this season why, regardless of position, he should be included in the starting lineup.

    Long-term replacement for Salah.

Mohamed Salah may not have to leave Liverpool anytime soon, but Liverpool fans would undoubtedly feel more secure if the Egyptian king had some backup.

It’s becoming less likely that Liverpool will pursue another forward in the transfer market given the need for improvement in midfield and defense this summer. As a result, Klopp may need to look closer to home to support Salah, and he may already have his long-term replacement in place.

At Anfield, there is a lot of anticipation surrounding Ben Doak, and you can see why in Germany. Despite the fact that his final product may not have been quite on point, the former Celtic youngster looked like a real livewire on the right, and at 17, he has plenty of time to improve.

With Liverpool participating in the Europa League in the upcoming campaign, chances may arise for some of the team’s younger players to stake their claims, and in Doak, Reds fans will have something very exciting to look forward to.

    Fully functional pressing machine.

Klopp lamented his team’s pressing efforts in particular as he summed up last season’s myriad issues and problems in that regard.

He stated over the ECHO, “It’s a general issue, not a midfield issue. “Defending starts up front; if you don’t defend there, the midfield won’t be able to succeed. ”.

Diogo Jota, whom Pep Lijnders refers to as a “pressing machine,” was absent for a significant portion of the season, which undoubtedly contributed to some of the issue.

And we witnessed firsthand the kind of impact the duo can have when they play together, forcing the German defense to make errors and generating chances from typically unimportant circumstances.

They will undoubtedly face tougher competition, especially once the season really gets going, but the early signs are promising.

    Kelleher’s reiteration.

Given that Caoimhn Kelleher’s future has been the subject of some rumors, there were a few raised eyebrows among Liverpool supporters when he wasn’t named in the squad.

After Alisson and Adrián missed the match against Karlsruher, Ian Doyle of The ECHO calmed some nerves by claiming Kelleher’s absence was “simply a matter of playing time being shared around” on social media.

However, those nerves would have been jangling once more when Fürth equalized the score shortly after the start of the second half as a result of Adrián’s poor pass to James McConnell.

There is no doubt that Liverpool will need to find a new number two for Alisson if Kelleher leaves, but the Spaniard did make amends later by initiating the move that led to Darwin Nez giving Liverpool the lead again.

    A second half madness

When Darwin Nez’s double gave Liverpool a 3-1 lead just before the hour, it seemed like the outcome was already set.

Fürth, however, had other plans as it shocked Liverpool with three goals in as many minutes to put the Reds behind and give Klopp some additional time to consider his transfer priorities.

Even though Joe Gomez was lining up at right-back in this situation, the chaos of the second half demonstrated that Liverpool cannot afford to neglect improving its defensive options for too long.

The Reds once again showed why a new center-back is required to provide backup to Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konaté, even though the priority may be back in midfield.

Liverpool’s training camp in Germany will come to a close as they encounter a specific 2 behind closed doors.

for the first time, a Bundesliga team.

The Reds defeated Karlsruher 4-2 to begin their preseason, coming from behind twice in stoppage time to secure the victory. Diogo Jota scored both of those goals.

As the start of the Premier League season approaches, Jurgen Klopp will be hoping to learn more about his players, both new and old, during their upcoming friendly against Greuther Furth on Monday.

Without spectators present, Liverpool will try to finish the Germany portion of their preseason with a victory and a strong showing.

Now that we know who the opponents are and how to watch, let’s look at the game.

    Greuther Furth, who are they?

A first encounter between Greuther and Liverpool takes place behind closed doors.
Currently playing in the second tier of German football, Greuther Furth are led by former RB Leipzig and Stuttgart manager Alexander Zorniger.

They came in at number twelve in both. With 41 points from 34 games, they finished in the middle of the table in the Bundesliga last year.

After a brief stint in the top division, Greuther Furth was demoted in 2021/22 after comfortably finishing last in the standings and only recording three league victories for the entire campaign.

But not for Klopp, it’s a first encounter

A first encounter between Greuther and Liverpool takes place behind closed doors.
The first competitive or non-competitive encounter between the two sides will take place on Monday.

Klopp has faced the German team before, though; in the 2011–12 DFB-Pokal semifinal, Borussia Dortmund prevailed thanks to a dramatic Ilkay Gundogan goal in extra time.

While playing for Mainz in 1998, the manager faced the team on Monday and scored a goal in a 3-0 victory.

    How to view.

At 12 p.m. (BST), or 1 p.m. local time in Germany, the game begins.

What needs to be resolved in the ideal Liverpool summer? Jürgen Klopp’s signing of Roméo Lavia and transfer strategy

What needs to be resolved in the ideal Liverpool summer? Jürgen Klopp's signing of Roméo Lavia and transfer strategy
Roméo Lavia is one of those coveted at Anfield, and Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp has confirmed that there will be more transfers before the season starts.

The match that will mark Liverpool’s Premier League season opener against Chelsea is now exactly three weeks away. While Jürgen Klopp’s team does not have much time left to prepare and complete new signings, the Reds are by no means the only team with a lot of work to do.

Liverpool would obviously want to have everything sorted out before the transfer deadline, which isn’t until the end of August, in a perfect world. That appeared to be on track up until the shocking news that Jordan Henderson and Fabinho were leaving the team.

Liverpool, however, will now need to act quickly. Since 18-year-old Stefan Bajeti is still working his way back to full fitness after the injury that ended his breakout season last March, it lacks a natural holding midfielder who is currently available and fit without Fabinho.

On the recently released We Are Liverpool podcast, Klopp said, “There are so many things to do. “The window for transfers is open. Having 28 hours in a day would not be a problem for me at the moment because I could easily fill them!

“With everything you have to do left and right, my primary focus and energy must be directed toward the training sessions, so that’s what I do. After the sessions, I can try to assist with other things.

“The first game of the season is still three and a half weeks away. There are undoubtedly a few transfer market-related events that must take place before then. Now it’s obvious what I mean. And it will take place. There needs to be an influx of new players. Our team will be strong. “.

Liverpool has been considering a variety of midfielders because the strategy is very clear. Which one or ones will be chosen to ensure that there are enough people in the pitch’s center is the question at hand.

What needs to be resolved in the ideal Liverpool summer? Jürgen Klopp's signing of Roméo Lavia and transfer strategy
Roméo Lavia is one player who is admired, and this was the case even before Fabinho and Henderson attracted attention. The 19-year-old, who Southampton values at $64 million (£50 million/€58 million), is offered for the right price.

However, given his youth and inexperience, signing Lavia alone would be risky. Adding a more seasoned candidate in addition to the Belgian would undoubtedly make sense.

After the midfield is settled, Liverpool still needs to find a left-sided center-back because a deal for Levi Colwill is currently uncertain to be feasible. The highly regarded defender won’t be leaving Chelsea, Chelsea maintains.

Given the uncertainty surrounding both Jol Matip and Joe Gomez, who both prefer playing on the right, Liverpool would be taking a risk if they started the new campaign without adding another center-back.

The goal is to bring three new players to Anfield before the deadline, but two signings are required. It would be ideal to add at least one of those midfielders this week so they have time to adjust before the trip to Stamford Bridge.

Although there is still time to complete deals, the sooner the right hires can be made, the better, as time is running out before the match against Chelsea.
