DEAL WITH £63K-A-WEEK STAR AT ANFIELD IS ‘COMPLETED’ BY LIVERPOOL

According to transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, who spoke exclusively to GIVEMESPORT, Liverpool goalkeeper Adrian is expected to remain at Anfield
According to transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, who spoke exclusively to GIVEMESPORT, Liverpool goalkeeper Adrian is expected to remain at Anfield for one additional year.

Although he has only appeared twice in the past two seasons, the uncapped Spanish international appears to have committed his near future to the Reds.

Caoimhin Kelleher is reportedly prepared to leave Liverpool in pursuit of consistent playing time, despite the fact that Liverpool do not want to lose him.

Adrian might be able to take advantage of this by playing more frequently in the future, especially in cup games.

Since transferring for free from West Ham United in 2019, Adrian has acted as Alisson Becker’s backup. Despite not playing as frequently as he would have liked, Adrian has won numerous awards, including the Premier League, FA Cup, and Carabao Cup.

Adrian asserted on Twitter after Liverpool’s final game of the 2022–23 season against Southampton that “great lessons” had been learned and that they will soon be back to their best.

Adrian may have an opportunity to prove his value despite being the oldest player at the club after Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp praised his third-choice goalie as “incredible.”

Adrian, according to Romano, will play for Liverpool for one more season, and a club announcement is just around the corner.

According to transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, who spoke exclusively to GIVEMESPORT, Liverpool goalkeeper Adrian is expected to remain at Anfield
What part will Adrian play for Liverpool in the upcoming season?

Alisson, one of the few Liverpool players who can walk tall after a turbulent 2022–23 season, will undoubtedly continue to be Jurgen Klopp’s first-choice goalkeeper.

In contrast to Kelleher, who has appeared a total of seven times in both the Premier League and the Carabao Cup, Liverpool’s 36-year-old goalkeeper has played zero games in the Premier League this year.

The former West Ham player’s final match for the team was in Liverpool’s 3-1 victory against Manchester City in the Community Shield in July of last year, although he has since been left out of the lineup.

The Spaniard was the German tactician’s third choice during the previous campaign, but he will look to move up the list once Kelleher leaves.

If Kelleher does decide to leave for greener pastures, Liverpool will be compelled to sign a new backup goalkeeper to step in when necessary, therefore the upcoming season will likely be more of the same for the £63,000 per week earning.

Bayern Munich want $118m Liverpool transfer 'target' as Chelsea warning ignored
Liverpool rivals roundup: Bayern Munich could be close to making a big offer for a Liverpool-linked player, while a Chelsea warning has emerged from a former manager.

With Liverpool’s season now over, all attention is focused on what is expected to be a very busy transfer window.
With new sporting director Jörg Schmadtke at the helm, the Reds will sign a string of signings this summer after a disappointing season on all fronts.

The midfielder will undoubtedly be Jurgen Klopp’s priority and transfer plans already seem to be taking shape. Alexis Mac Allister could be the first new face at Anfield (via 90 Minutes).

It won’t be the only position we aspire to, however, as defensive reinforcements are also needed, while other players could be eliminated following the departures of Roberto Firmino, James Milner, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Naby Keïta.

But Liverpool won’t be the only club wanting to be busy during the transfer window. Many of the Reds’ rivals will be aiming to make an impression in the transfer market and could even challenge Klopp for some of his goals.

Here, Liverpool.com scans other top teams in the Premier League and across Europe to see news from other clubs.

Bayern Munich is preparing a 118 million dollar offer for Rice

Bayern Munich are set to make a huge offer for Declan Rice this summer, according to the Mirror. There is much speculation surrounding Rice’s future as the transfer window approaches and several reports have linked him with a move to Arsenal.

However, new Bundesliga champions Bayern could put a big wrench in the Gunners’ works. According to the report, Thomas Tuchel’s side are ready to make a $118m (£95m/€110m) bid to land the West Ham star and beat the England international’s rival from the start.

In April, Sky Sports reported that Rice was an option Liverpool were considering, but such a price was certainly out of reach.

Liverpool.com says: It would be a surprise if Rice moved to Munich. All the latest reports on his future seem to indicate that he is ready to join Arsenal.

Rice could have been a welcome addition to Liverpool this summer, although with offers in excess of $100m on the cards, he is unlikely to fit into the plans of several midfield signings. Potter warned Chelsea about star being ‘too expensive’.

Former Chelsea manager Graham Potter warned the club’s board they were “making too many signings” and insisted Enzo Fernández was “too expensive”, according to The Guardian.

Potter was sacked as Chelsea manager after just 31 games, despite the club spending more than $746m (£600m/€695m) on signings under owner Todd Boehly.

The Blues had a disastrous season, finishing 12th in the Premier League, and The Guardian suggests their former manager sought to raise concerns with the club’s board after being left with a bloated squad, including $133m (£107m / €124m) January signing of Fernandez.

Liverpool.com says: If Potter had indeed warned the Chelsea board about the signings they were making, perhaps they should have listened to him.

If Liverpool fans think their season was bad, it was nothing compared to the Blues’ season.

Mauricio Pochettino is now tasked with picking up the pieces of Chelsea’s disastrous season, and Boehly and company may have to listen to what the Argentinian has to say to them this summer.

The ideal motivation has just been given to Fabinho to reignite his Liverpool career.

The ideal motivation has just been given to Fabinho to reignite his Liverpool career.
Fabinho’s international career is at a crossroads, and getting back into the Brazil team will be a difficult feat given Casemiro’s ongoing excellence and Bruno Guimaraes’s ascent.

Over the course of the 2022–23 season, it started to seem a bit like a pattern for Liverpool and its players: fleeting glimpses of promise were quickly followed by sobering reality checks.

Fabinho, by his own perfect standards, has had a difficult season on Merseyside as Liverpool faced a grueling follow-up campaign to their 63-game quadruple quest last season. That remark is arguably not more accurate for him.

Nevertheless, despite his late-season improvement, which came at the same time Trent Alexander-Arnold switched to a hybrid full-back-midfield position and the Reds started an 11-game Premier League unbeaten streak, the 29-year-old has once again been passed over by Brazil for their upcoming friendlies against Guinea and Senegal.

Ramon Menezes, the interim head coach, was given the task of choosing the team for the upcoming double-header with the assistance of the national team’s physiologist and performance analysts due to the failure to name a replacement for the long-serving Tite, who resigned from his position as manager after Brazi’s shocking World Cup last-16 exit at the hands of Croatia back in December.

Out of the 23 players chosen, Menezes chose five midfielders, including Joelinton from Newcastle United and the Premier League’s Casemiro, Lucas Paqueta, and Bruno Guimaraes. This was Joelinton’s first call-up for the Selecao. Andre Trindade da Costa Neto, 21, who plays for Fluminense in his country’s top division, took the last spot.

Everyone at Anfield won’t be overly surprised by Fabinho’s absence, even the player himself, who despite helping Liverpool win every major championship on the continent between 2019 and 2022 had just 21 international appearances to his credit.

He was given a starting spot in just 10 out of a potential 34 games over that three-year span when Brazil competed in two Copa America campaigns, a World Cup, and a number of routine qualification games.

Joelinton, on the other hand, was one of four players to be called up to the Selecao for the first time. Joelinton appears to have surpassed the Reds midfielder in the national team hierarchy after a stellar 18 months at St. James’ Park following his redeployment as a central midfielder under Toon manager Eddie Howe.

“In a press conference over the weekend, Menezes discussed his selections and said, “The debuts are explained by what these players are doing in their clubs, showing conditions to wear the shirt of the Selection.” With the exception of goalkeepers, we now call two players for each position.”

The ideal motivation has just been given to Fabinho to reignite his Liverpool career.
For Fabinho, his current difficulties may be traced back to the concluding weeks of the Reds’ pursuit of the quadruple in May 2022, when he was substituted in the opening minutes of the Premier League trip to Aston Villa after experiencing what was later determined to be a hamstring problem. The FA Cup final against Chelsea and league matches against Southampton and Wolves would both be played without the Brazilian as Naby Keita started alongside Thiago Alcantara and Jordan Henderson.

But only a few days after sitting out the 120-minute match in the capital as the Reds defeated Chelsea in the second domestic cup final of the year and won the eighth FA Cup thanks to the heroics of Alisson Becker and Kostas Tsimikas in an intense penalty shootout, Fabinhio would declare himself healthy for the upcoming Champions League final by telling reporters huddled at the club’s AXA Training Center: “All [is] good. I’ll be all set.

However, after announcing his return with a sluggish performance at the Stade de France as Liverpool succumbed to an exhausting loss to Real Madrid in Europe’s showpiece finale a year ago, it has been difficult for him to prove his value at Anfield.

It is perhaps both predictable and self-inflicted that the Brazilian has cost Liverpool so much this season and ultimately resulted in failure to qualify for the Champions League for the first time in Klopp’s seven full seasons at the club. The Brazilian began the season as Klopp’s only recognizable natural defensive midfielder. The Reds will suffer a significant financial setback as a result of missing out on the lucrative rewards that come with brushing elbows with Europe’s top, which has been all too routine since their return to the group stages in August 2017.

But when Liverpool limped to defeats at Nottingham Forest, Brentford, Brighton, and Bournemouth more recently, the Brazilian’s slow road displays almost became a weekly occurrence. With a huge summer shake-up on the horizon, such form at the beginning of the year had raised more concerns than it had supplied answers regarding the midfielder’s long-term future at Anfield.

Such was the nature of the competition that 18-year-old rookie Stefan Bajcetic, who had been trained under Klopp’s watchful eye for the first half of the season, was able to unseat the Brazilian in the early weeks of 2023.

The ideal motivation has just been given to Fabinho to reignite his Liverpool career.
Three months from now, however, and the Brazilian will have recovered thanks to Arsenal’s Easter match at Anfield, where he partnered with Alexander-Arnold in a brand-new two-man midfield pivot. The West Derby great was re-energized by a shift just days before the Gunners’ title dreams crashed on Merseyside after a season of difficulty there as well.

Before Sunday’s end-of-season thrashing at St Mary’s, Fabinho and Alexander-Arnold had established one of the division’s most balanced partnerships and allowed just eight goals in as many games after a problematic first half-hour at Anfield in which Gabriel Martinelli and Gabriel Jesus put the then-Premier League leaders ahead.

The agility Alexander-Arnold has added to the center of the park has been hailed as a tactical masterstroke by Klopp, enhancing the effectiveness of Fabinho’s spatial knowledge. Of course, it is still early, and despite the late-season comeback, which has helped to some extent restore the positive energy at Anfield ahead of the new season, it does not conceal the midfield dilemma that the club’s recently appointed sporting director Jorg Schmadtke will need to address head-on in the coming months.

On the international stage, Casemiro, a five-time Champions League champion, is almost always on display at Old Trafford, and Bruno Guimaraes has made a name for himself further north. As a result, Fabinho will have a tough time regaining his spot in the Brazil team before the Copa America tournament next summer.

However, if Liverpool has any hope of getting the best performance out of its defensive patroller once more, his most recent omission from the international stage may not be all bad news after making 148 appearances for the Reds since the start of play following the lockdown in July 2020.

With the Premier League season coming to an end and Jorg Schmadtke’s appointment as their new sporting director officially confirmed, Liverpool can now fully focus on the summer.

Following their worst season in recent years, Liverpool’s summer business is expected to involve a revamp of the playing staff, and plans are already starting to take shape.

Jurgen Klopp can start putting the finishing touches on his summer transfer plans now that Jorg Schmadtke has been confirmed as sporting director. After Julian Ward left the club after just one season, it will be possible for the team to operate in a competitive market with the German’s predicted short-term role.

Since James Milner, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, and Naby Keita are all departing the team after their contracts expire, midfielders are expected to be added. A new right-back may also be on the hunt, as Trent Alexander-Arnold’s recent midfield appearances point to a role change for the 24-year-old.

    Jorg Schmadtke’s Liverpool  in-tray
On June 1st, Jorg Schmadtke will join at Anfield. The former sporting director for Wolfsburg was hired to help with Jurgen Klopp’s transfer requests.

He has stated that he is likely to carry out Klopp’s intentions rather than advise his compatriot in the transfer market, and that his appointment is a significant milestone in the club’s essential summer of business.

On the day his appointment was officially announced on Tuesday, Schmadtke discussed the breadth of his responsibilities and how he will integrate with the current organizational structure.

Benjamin pavard is “asked to leave” by Bayern

Benjamin Pavard allegedly want to leave Bayern in the summer, and his departure would put Liverpool on high alert as they continue their search for summer reinforcements.

According to reports in Germany, Liverpool is reportedly interested. Trent Alexander-Arnold’s desire to leave the club has previously been made known, and this might be an indication that Liverpool plans to move Trent Alexander-Arnold into the midfield.

Given his versatility at right or center back, Pavard, 27, who has won the Champions League and the World Cup in his career, would be a solid addition to the team.

An summary of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain’s transfer strategy
In a confident response to being released by Liverpool, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has expressed his aspirations for a successful future and insisted he is open to offers.

The England international described his goals in an interview with Mirror Football, saying that his time at Liverpool had given him a taste for future success.

The 29-year-old, who won the Premier League and the Champions League while at Anfield, has stated that he wants to play consistent football and compete for awards with a new club.

As Anfield legacy unfolds, Julian Ward is unable to respond to the £196 million Liverpool issue.

As Anfield legacy unfolds, Julian Ward is unable to respond to the £196 million Liverpool issue. After a year in his role as Liverpool’s sporting director, Julian Ward leaves the organization. But how productive was his time at Anfield?

Julian Ward’s time as the Reds’ sporting director is almost up now that Jorg Schmadtke has been hired by Liverpool.

The German will formally begin working on June 1 when Ward moves down after catching club executives off guard by giving his notice in November. After all, he had just recently taken over as sporting director from Michael Edwards the summer before.

As a result, Ward has only directly managed two transfer windows at Anfield. Nevertheless, he would spearhead Liverpool’s attempts in January 2022 before succeeding Edwards the following summer.

However, despite the fact that club executives wanted to appoint Schmadtke before the Premier League’s transfer window opened on June 14 to help with the transition from their departing sporting director, the already finished groundwork on the Reds’ upcoming business ensures that anyone signed in the summer will still be credited as being a “Ward signing.”

Ward is leaving Liverpool after 11 years and parting ways with the club in order to spend more time with his young family. The club’s announcement announcing Schmadtke’s appointment would include mention to this, according to FSG president Mike Gordon.

“At the same time that we welcome Jorg, we must also bid a fond farewell to Julian Ward, who has served us with unstinting diligence, fortitude, and energy in a number of roles, the most recent one being sporting director,” he said.

“We thank Julian for everything he has done for Liverpool FC over the past 11 years and wish him the very best for the future with his young family.”

Ward is leaving Liverpool after 11 years and parting ways with the club in order to spend more time with his young family. The club's announcement announcing Schmadtke's appointment would include mention to this, according to FSG president Mike Gordon.
When Edwards made his own exit announcement in November 2021, he stated of Ward, “As was the case with myself, I doubt you will hear much from him.”

He wasn’t off base. But unlike Edwards, Ward’s work can’t speak for itself because of his short tenure as Liverpool’s sporting director.

What is Ward’s Anfield legacy, and how will it be remembered in the future, despite his brief time serving as sporting director? In actuality, the response is ambiguous.

One may argue that the summer transfer window last year wasn’t all that productive.

After leaving Benfica for £64 million, which might increase to a club record £85 million with add-ons, the verdict is still out on Darwin Nunez. The Uruguayan would finish his debut season on Merseyside with 15 goals and four assists, which is more than respectable considering the criticism and jeering of rival fans.

The 23-year-old’s difficulties learning English, and therefore his difficulties comprehending and adjusting to the German’s demands, have been lamented by Jurgen Klopp as a factor in his sidelining near the end of the season. Throughout the course of the season, the striker would also experience a series of minor injuries.

Ward is leaving Liverpool after 11 years and parting ways with the club in order to spend more time with his young family. The club's announcement announcing Schmadtke's appointment would include mention to this, according to FSG president Mike Gordon.
Nunez is already a popular fan favorite, despite the fact that his debut season at Anfield was everything but easy. Because of this, his supporters are more than happy to give him a second chance.

But his ups and downs, as well as the records of Liverpool’s other summer additions, invite additional examination.

Only nine minutes of first team action were played by Fabio Carvalho for the Reds in the second half of the season, which covered the final four months of the campaign. The Portuguese, who is available for a summer loan, seems destined to spend the 2019–20 campaign away from Anfield, and Liverpool has previously turned down a permanent offer for his services. The long-term status of the 20-year-old is thus still unclear.

Calvin Ramsay, a Scotland international, similarly struggled to get playing time in his own debut season on Merseyside, making only two appearances during a season that was derailed by injury. When compared to Trent Alexander-Arnold, who was in the worst shape of his career, his unavailability and inexperience were much worse.

Then there is Arthur Melo, a last-minute loan acquisition from Juventus on the summer transfer deadline day in August of last year after a number of Liverpool’s midfielders had been sidelined by injury. He was injured himself in October and would never play in the Premier League, making only a brief appearance in the Champions League during Liverpool’s 4-1 loss to Napoli in September.

His arrival was made much more difficult to accept by the fact that Liverpool had spent the whole summer adamantly stating that they didn’t need a new midfielder, with such a renovation being put on hold until 2023. And that’s not even taking into account the Reds’ decision to give up on the pursuit of Jude Bellingham after forgoing bolstering their engine room in order to wait for the Borussia Dortmund player last year.

Last year, observers scrutinized these choices with understandable trepidation, but club executives swore there was a method to their madness. According to Reds sources, Edwards’ legacy is the clear blueprint he left for Ward and the staff in charge of the club’s football operations to follow.

Ward is leaving Liverpool after 11 years and parting ways with the club in order to spend more time with his young family. The club's announcement announcing Schmadtke's appointment would include mention to this, according to FSG president Mike Gordon. As a result, it was said that Liverpool’s management team had a clear vision and, for better or worse, a strategy for executing it. Club insiders would acknowledge that the outcome would ultimately determine whether or not such a course of action was appropriate.

The fact that the Reds were eliminated early from the Champions League, both domestic cup competitions, and missed out on qualification for Europe’s premier competition the following season by placing fifth, although never even holding a top four slot all season, speaks for itself. Results this year imply that such a plan was not successful, which is a bit of a letdown after almost winning an unheard-of quadruple a year before.

It was theoretically impossible for Liverpool to make it into the Champions League for the upcoming season, as Mohamed Salah previously acknowledged on social media.

Even so, Ward’s tenure has not been a failure. Although Arthur might have been a last-minute bust who was unintentionally brought to Liverpool, it’s simply too early to make any conclusions about the Reds’ other three recruits.

Nunez, Carvalho, and Ramsay have faced numerous difficulties during their inaugural season at Anfield. However, none of the three can’t still be long-term winners even if the later two spend the upcoming season on loan. After all, Klopp has frequently referred to a project as a “long-term project.”

And while the Liverpool summer transfer window of 2022 can be brutally criticized, Ward’s grueling task of updating the Reds’ aging attack cannot be contested.

Ward is leaving Liverpool after 11 years and parting ways with the club in order to spend more time with his young family. The club's announcement announcing Schmadtke's appointment would include mention to this, according to FSG president Mike Gordon.
Salah, Sadio Mane, and Roberto Firmino were Liverpool’s go-to attack for a considerable amount of time. But the Reds will have just the Egyptian at Anfield when the 2023–24 season begins.

The two replacements for the Senegalese and the Brazilian, Luis Diaz and Cody Gakpo, appear to be the best options. Nunez may be viewed more negatively when compared to his fellow summer arrivals, but when viewed against the significant attacking additions made in back-to-back Januarys, a different picture emerges.

The future of Liverpool’s attack is promising when you add take into account that Ward helped Salah sign a new contract and secure Diogo Jota’s services with an extended term. According to the early indications, Ward accomplished what his supporters had previously deemed nearly impossible.

The hope is that his fingerprints on this upcoming summer’s work updating the midfield will be equally fruitful.

He leaves with a record of spending a total of £196.1 million on Diaz, Nunez, Ramsay, Carvalho, Arthur, and Gakpo after spending an initial total of £150.9 million on those players. He also assisted the club in raising up to £62 million for Sadio Mane, Takumi Minamino, Neco Williams, and Ben Davies. You would anticipate the club to gain money even if Carvalho or Ramsay don’t succeed at Anfield in the long run.

While the verdict is still out on Liverpool’s transfer activity from last summer, the Reds did not win any further significant trophies during Ward’s official tenure as sporting director. On-pitch outcomes, however, aren’t yet able to determine his success due to the long-term nature of such exercise.

He will have long gone left his Anfield position when it is appropriate to truly evaluate his job. Because of this, his Liverpool legacy has yet to be determined, despite this year’s shortcomings.

When Klopp’s revamped Reds team fully gels, Ward won’t be on the club’s books anymore. But make no mistake, Ward contributed significantly to the development of this Liverpool of the future before quickly handing off the reins before any accolades could be bestowed upon him.

Liverpool move quickly as their first summer transfer is negotiated by their new sporting director.
As Jurgen Klopp looks to strengthen his squad ahead of the start of the 2023–24 season, Liverpool is anticipated to be among the busiest Premier League clubs this summer.

This summer, Liverpool is considering a deal to acquire Khephren Thuram, a French midfielder.

James Milner, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, and Naby Keita are all expected to leave the team at the end of June, therefore Jurgen Klopp plans to bolster his midfield when the transfer window reopens. After a terrible season-long loan, Arthur will also return to Juventus.

But Klopp and the newly appointed sporting director Jorg Schmadtke are making moves to try and land their main targets quickly. German Schmadtke was officially hired by Liverpool on Tuesday morning after Julian Ward left the club. His responsibility is to make sure the Reds make the best possible short-term signings.

Liverpool is reportedly working hard to hire Nice star Thuram, according to L’Equipe. The 22-year-old has made 48 appearances and scored twice for Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s Nice this season while playing in the middle of the field. Thuram, the brother of fellow Liverpool target Marcus and the son of French soccer icon Lillian, is a potent midfielder who can play anywhere in the field.

The midfielder, who is of Italian descent, began his professional career with Monaco before transferring to Nice in 2019. Thuram has now emerged as a fan favorite at the team in southern France, appearing more than 100 times over the last four seasons. However, his most prosperous season to date was 2022–2023.

Thuram was selected to play with Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe in the Ligue 1 Team of the Year as a result of his performances. Thuram has been a bright spot in Nice’s second-best defensive unit in the division despite the team’s terrible overall season, but he is drawing interest from other teams.

Liverpool move quickly as their first summer transfer is negotiated by their new sporting director.
Liverpool’s representatives and those of Thuram have already met. The player apparently wants to work and play for the Reds next season under Klopp. Given the situation at hand, he would provide Liverpool some much-needed presence and vigor in the middle of the field.

The current first-team midfielders for Liverpool are Fabinho, Jordan Henderson, Harvey Elliott, and Curtis Jones, but Klopp needs to add more this summer. Manu Kone, Youri Tielemans, and Bruno Guimaraes are a few additional players who have been mentioned in connection with a move to Anfield.

Schmadtke acknowledges that, in terms of his mandate, it is very much a Klopp-down approach when he first lands on Merseyside on a temporary contract. Speaking about his new position, he said to Sport1: “The coach has more influence over transfers in England than it does in Germany, where the sports board or the sports director controls everything. Klopp decides on the priorities.

He will then select from a list of players that he’d like to work with after consulting with data analysts and scouts. I’ll then approach the clubs and targets after that. Finally, the owners must be content with their investments.

“On June 1st, I’ll begin. The partnership may continue after the transfer window closes if we get along. Look at it. Then we shall decide whether to continue or not.”

Newcastle had also spoken to players last summer; their interest has not diminished and preliminary negotiations are underway.

PSG like Thuram but the problem they face is that Thuram would be slightly more expensive than their offer for Manuel Ugarte.

The club prefers to pay Nice in installments, but the club is looking for the full contribution. Thuram is also not necessarily a priority for the French champions.

We’ve been told that Thuram will be leaving this summer and the asking price will depend on interest. The clubs have started a dialogue with Thuram’s camp, but then proposals will have to be made.

Exc: He said Atalanta will refuse to sell Liverpool goal Teun Koopmeiners this window. He is aiming for Europe and has already sold Ruslan Malinovskyi to Marseille. Hear conversations between the Reds and Nice’s Khephren Thuram and Borussia Mönchengladbach’s Kouadio Kone.

It was reported in French media that an asking price of €60 million is expected to be achieved. We understand that the price will vary based on a number of factors, but ultimately it will depend on which club can best sell their project.

Talks with Liverpool show the club likes the midfielder, but the club have a number of options in mind to fill that role. The Thuram brothers are associated with emigration

Thuram is the brother of striker Marcus – also linked with a move to the Premier League next summer – and the son of French side Lilian.

Both sons have been called up to France’s youngest squad for the upcoming Euro 2024 qualifiers against the Netherlands and Ireland and Khephren in particular has been praised for his recent form.

“Khephren is fantastic,” said his head coach at Nice, former PSG and Middlesbrough midfielder Didier Digard. “He is very hardworking, very attentive. On rest days, he is at the training center. Recover quickly for back-to-back matches and complete intense workouts.

“Listen and adapt. It has room for improvement and is in high demand. It just eats video analytics and extra sessions. He also advises others, as he assumes a leadership role. It also reveals itself as a person.

After Liverpool’s final game of the season, Jurgen Klopp confesses, “I hated these moments.”

A "massive" blow will be dealt to Liverpool next season, according to Jurgen Klopp, who is targeting a significant improvement.
After a 4-4 draw away to Southampton, Jurgen Klopp comments on Liverpool’s season.

A “massive” blow will be dealt to Liverpool next season, according to Jurgen Klopp, who is targeting a significant improvement.

As their Premier League campaign came to a close with a tumultuous 4-4 draw at St Mary’s, the Reds’ destiny in the Europa League was formally decided on Thursday when Manchester United defeated Chelsea 4-1.

The Reds manager did little to hide how much of a blow that absence is after the game at Southampton, and given the finances that come with being engaged in Europe’s best league, a lack of Champions League play will unavoidably have an influence on the club’s budget.

However, the Liverpool manager was really pleased with how his team recovered from a challenging first two thirds of the season with an 11-game winning streak that began in early April.

There isn’t much to be learned from this season, but I believe what there is to be learned is that at a club like ours where expectations are so high – and rightfully so – that when things don’t go well, it pretty quickly starts with blaming each other and that didn’t happen yet, especially last week when you could see that our people are more than just with us, Klopp said.

They are still entirely to our rear. That is really cool. The better you act in a crisis, the better you come out of it, and I genuinely believed that was the case for us, so there’s really nothing [new to learn].

“Once more, we are quite unhappy about it. I must also stress that missing out on the Champions League is a huge disappointment for a club like ours. But throughout the course of the following few years, we’ll see how many teams are currently competing for that and putting up a fight to be included when they won’t be.

A "massive" blow will be dealt to Liverpool next season, according to Jurgen Klopp, who is targeting a significant improvement.
“That would be simpler, but we still need to complete this task, so we’ll do our best. We must revert to being the team that no one wants to play against us against if we are to develop.

“I believe that some teams were excited to play us in several games this season, and I believe that is the worst thing that can happen to you. I detested these times. However, that is now over, so let’s begin over.

At St. Mary’s, Liverpool took a 2-0 lead thanks to goals from Diogo Jota and Roberto Firmino before getting goals from James Ward-Prowse and Kamaldeen Sulemana just before halftime.

The Saints subsequently took the lead thanks to Sulemana, and after an hour, Adam Armstrong made it 4-2 for them. However, Cody Gakpo and Jota scored two goals in as many minutes to tie the score once more in a fun end-of-season match.

“It was a top start, an outstanding finish,” continued Klopp. in the middle? Pfft. Yeah. Let me begin by saying the most crucial thing: I truly believe Southampton is an exceptional club now.

“I have to admit that it is quite unique when you see the people, after relegation, which is obviously the worst thing that could happen, and the atmosphere is as it is. I really enjoyed that.

“However, once we were up 2-0, you knew that the Southampton players wanted to make amends, and we allowed them to do so. We’ve recently made room for a very skilled offensive unit.

“With the speed they possess and their ability to counterattack, I could name a number of things that we weren’t doing that resulted in their counterattacks and goals.

When the score reached 2-2 and 4-2, we suddenly began acting in the way we had intended to from the beginning. After that, it was more or less fantastic, and we were within striking distance of a fifth or sixth.

Bayern Munich want $118m Liverpool transfer ‘target’ as Chelsea warning ignored https://footballtopstar.com/bayern-munich-want-118m-liverpool-transfer-target-as-chelsea-warning-ignored/
Liverpool sporting director Joerg Schmadtke has revealed he will initially only hold the position for the duration of the summer transfer window, but could stay longer.

The Reds confirmed on Wednesday morning that Schmadtke will replace Julian Ward as sporting director at Anfield from the start of June – Ward himself had only been in the job for a year following an internal promotion to replace Michael Edwards last summer.

Schmadtke, once a Bundesliga goalkeeper during his own playing career, has more than 20 years’ experience as a sporting director in Germany and most recently served in that role at Wolfsburg until January 2023.

Liverpool is the 59-year-old’s first overseas job and will initially be temporary.
“Our cooperation is initially planned for three months,” Schmadtke told Sport1 in Germany. “I will start on June 1st. After three months we will evaluate the collaboration. If we like each other, we can work together even after the transfer period. Let’s see. Then we continue or not”.

Liverpool withdrew from the race to sign Jude Bellingham in April due to the prohibitive cost and Schmadtke joked that he hasn’t been budgeted yet for the summer. However, he also stressed that the focus will be on the small details, which often determine the success of a transfer.

“I don’t have a budget yet [laughs…” he said. “Seriously, transfers are always complicated. When a player goes from A to B, it’s usually small things that are hard to influence and have nothing to do with making money. For example, how the player fits into his family in the city, what place he should take in the team, how to show his best performance. You have to take this into account. The fees associated with these transfers are almost negligible.

Schmadtke will also have to adapt quickly to a new way of working, admitting that German football managers tend to have less ‘influence’ over transfer decisions than they do in England. In that regard, Jurgen Klopp, whose agent was the one who recommended Schmadtke to Liverpool, will continue to play an important role in choosing the players the club wants to sign.
“Jurgen Klopp sets priorities,” explains Schmadtke.

“We’ve paired him with a team of data analysts, scouts and so on, so he can pick from a list of players he wants to work with. Then I organize the transfers with the responsible departments of the club. And in the end the owners have to be satisfied with the investments».

Luis Diaz injuries are revealed as two Liverpool players leave the team

How Jurgen Klopp’s players rated this season using the numbers we gave them for each of Liverpool’s 52 games

However you choose to dress them, the truth is inevitable: Liverpool have had a very, very disappointing season.
Of course, there is the small consolation of fifth place and Europa League qualification that appeared after the Reds earlier this year.

But the fact that Jurgen Klopp’s side failed to finish in the top four for the first time in seven years, meekly giving up the FA Cup and League before embarrassingly slipping out of the Champions League in the round of 16, underscores just how much they have been a disappointing campaign. was
    The reasons are well documented.

And the history of the term can be seen in the performances of the players, with ECHO rating Liverpool in their 52 games played in all competitions this season, placing them at 10 for every appearance they have played at least 15 minutes.

Here we then rate the campaign of each player who has made 20 appearances, using their average ratings as a guideline. They are not a particularly good read.

There is one player who shone quite a distance for Liverpool amidst all the darkness. Alisson Becker (6.91) was a consistent star throughout the season, only registering below six times during his 47 scoring appearances.

Mohamed Salah (6.82) is the only other Reds man to reach the goalkeeper from close range, reflecting a season in which, while not his best, he still scored 30 goals and contributed 16 assists, setting a large number of records of the club.

    The best of the rest

Ibrahima Konate (6.58) and Virgil van Dijk (6.54) are firmly ensconced as first-choice centre-backs, with the former quite solid and the latter finding rich form in recent weeks.

Diogo Jota’s high placing (6.52) underscores what Liverpool have lacked in attack as the Portuguese was out twice through injury, while Andy Robertson (6.48) remained stable on the left side of defence.

Harvey Elliott (6.45) deserves credit for his consistent performance during darker days, and Cody Gakpo (6.44) overcame a slow start to his Anfield career to finish the season as the most likely to lead striker in the new season.

James Milner (6.42) may have been limited to couch cameo appearances since the new year, but he’s largely got the job done.

    Below their best

Darwin Nunez (6.38), another big stalwart, made a decent contribution before Christmas but then recorded just one more cap than 7, scoring twice in a 7-0 win over Manchester United. Trent Alexander-Arnold (6.37) has had periods of real trouble but the switch to the reverse right-back role in recent months has improved his average rating considerably.

Roberto Firmino (6.35) and Thiago Alcantara (6.33) were in good form at times but were hampered by minor injuries.

Meanwhile, Fabinho (6.13) was on course for a particularly dismal season – his substitutes doing little to help – until an in-form rebound saw Liverpool end on a streak of 11 matches unbeaten.
    Gotta do better

Joe Gomez (6.08) signed a new contract last summer and established himself as a regular before a surprise Champions League appearance at Napoli tarnished confidence. There was something of a revival in the new year, until another poor result was Wolves’ grueling defeat. Joel Matip (6.05) was another central defender who struggled that afternoon, with his post-Christmas form deeply disappointing.

Jordan Henderson (6.00) has rarely been 100% this season and apart from some notable performances hasn’t been able to influence games as much as he has in recent years, being passed in midfield

    At the edges

There were a number of players who didn’t have enough to be included in the overall standings. Luis Diaz (6.84) narrowly missed the cut with 19 appearances and, like Jota, showed what Liverpool had been without for so long.

Teenage midfielder Stefan Bajcetic (6.77) was the breakout star before injury ended his season, while Curtis Jones (6.33) has been impressive in recent weeks after a frustrating campaign on the sidelines.

Fabio Carvalho (6.15) has barely caught a glimpse after Christmas, while Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (6.00) has had a brief burst of activity into the new year. However, Naby Keita’s performance (5.45) perhaps illustrates why he left the team after not playing since February.

Bayern Munich want $118m Liverpool transfer 'target' as Chelsea warning ignored

Liverpool’s new sporting director Joerg Schmadtke has spoken about his role ahead of the busy transfer window

New sporting director Joerg Schmadtke says Jurgen Klopp will continue to decide the club’s priorities in the transfer market – and revealed the manager’s adviser recommended him for the job.

Schmadtke was confirmed as the successor to outgoing Julian Ward on Tuesday. The 59-year-old takes office on Thursday for an initially short-term spell which will oversee the upcoming summer transfer window.

His first tasks will be to build on the field work already done by the Reds, with two new midfielders who should be a priority. Brighton’s Alexis Mac Allister remains the main target.

And Schmadtke explained how he will work with Klopp and the recruitment team to identify which players can strengthen the squad in the coming months. “The influence of the coach on transfers is greater in England than in Germany, where a sporting director holds everything in one hand,” he told Sport1 in Germany.

“Jürgen Klopp sets the priorities. We set him up with a team of data analysts, scouts, etc., so that he can then choose from a list of players to work with. Then I deals with transfers.” The responsible services at the club.

And in the end, the owners must be satisfied with the investments. “If we like each other, we can work together even after the transfer market. Let’s see. Then we continue or not.”

Schmadtke built a reputation in Germany for extracting value from book signings within a limited budget. And while Fenway Sports Group will release significantly more transfer money than its previous clubs, the German believes there is more to the moves than just the fee.

“I don’t have a budget yet!” he laughed when told of the numbers he would expect if he worked in the Premier League. “Seriously, transfers are always complicated. When a player goes from A to B, it’s usually little things that are hard to influence and have nothing to do with making money.”

“For example, how the player integrates with his family in the city, what should be his place in the team, how can he show his maximum performance. You have to take this into account. The amounts involved in these transfers are almost non- relevant existent ”. “

Klopp had previously distanced himself from suggestions that Schmadtke would only be appointed because he knew him from working in Germany as a player and manager. However, Liverpool’s new sporting director has admitted Klopp’s agent Marc Kosicke suggested him as a candidate for the role.

“We’re not that close to each other,” Schmadtke said of Klopp. “We were in the Bundesliga at the same time. Him as a coach, me as a sports director, you know each other.

“I know his adviser Marc Kosicke better. He has good relations with the owners of Liverpool FC. When the current sporting director announced that he wanted to leave for personal reasons, Marc said: “If you are looking for an older, experienced manager for the transfer window, you might want to look at German Jörg Schmadtke. “

Trent Alexander-Arnold’s new role should make it clearer who Liverpool’s ideal backup is. Liverpool acquired a player last year who will undoubtedly become a star shortly.

Liverpool’s comeback over the last several months of the season has primarily been attributed to Jürgen Klopp’s smart move to move Trent Alexander-Arnold into a more central midfield role in order to establish dominance in the middle.

With his keen sense of the game and inventive passing, Alexander-Arnold has excelled in that position, highlighting his strengths both on and off the ball and allowing him to cut through defenders like a hot knife through butter.

In addition, he has consistently recorded the most passes completed per game for Liverpool, forcing the opposition to chase after red shirts and their shadows.

But Liverpool has other candidates that are equally qualified for this position as Alexander-Arnold. Should Alexander-Arnold require a break or sustain an injury, Klopp already has the perfect backup ready to go in Calvin Ramsay.

The Scotsman’s debut season with the Reds hasn’t quite allowed him to show off his skills. Even before there were speculations tying him to a move to Anfield, Liverpool.com noted his suitability for the club due to his uncanny resemblance to Alexander-Arnold’s playing style when at Aberdeen.

Trent Alexander-Arnold's new role should make it clearer who Liverpool's ideal backup is. Liverpool acquired a player last year who will undoubtedly
Ramsay has displayed glimmers of his ability while wearing a red shirt for Liverpool. In his first game for the club’s U21 team, he scored, and on his third start, he added another. At the academy level, he scored two goals overall in just five games.

However, his lone League Cup debut for Liverpool’s first team against Derby County may have been the best example of his skill.

Ramsay played the full-back position that evening with a level of excellence that would have made Alexander-Arnold proud. Additionally, he did so in a more prominent way and in the same manner as Alexander-Arnold at the moment.

In that game against Derby, Ramsay completed two of his three dribbles, won two of his three defensive duels, and completed 107 passes out of 114 attempts, including 19 passes towards the final third and six into the penalty area.

Only once this season, when he was playing in a more central midfield position against Leeds United, has Alexander-Arnold been able to complete more passes than Ramsay. The Reds’ 6-1 victory also applies to passes into the final third, as Alexander-Arnold completed 20 of them.

Alexander-Arnold has averaged between 10 and 20 passes into the final third of the field per game since assuming his new position. Ramsay’s ability to put up these figures while playing a more ‘traditional’ full-back is impressive.

Despite the fact that it is only a tiny sample against Championship-caliber competition, Ramsay’s future at Liverpool appears bright if Klopp decides to keep Alexander-Arnold in his new position.

If Ramsay can avoid his injury issues, there is no reason why he wouldn’t be able to pick up the Alexander-Arnold role and make it his own. Ramsay hasn’t had a great season with injuries, which has made him nearly forgotten around Anfield circles.

He is equipped to play there with equal effectiveness, and over time, he will integrate in well with Klopp’s team.

Liverpool are looking for a Barcelona man to take care of Xavi

However you look at it, the 2022-23 season has been poor by Liverpool’s current standards and something should always change after it’s over.

Were it not for the manager, and let’s face it, neither he nor the club itself ever even suggested that his time at Anfield was over, it would have been the players who carried the ball.

Some have left because their contracts have expired and are looking for more experience in their playing career, others have simply not been good enough.
It’s perfectly fine to get rid of the ones that have become obsolete, but need to be replaced.

Improving departing players will likely require some serious spending money, but as the Liverpool board has shown with the Jude Bellingham situation, they won’t be held hostage to any player.

Although Barcelona’s Jules Kounde recently tweeted that he hasn’t asked to leave the club, it’s understood he would rather play in central defense than at right-back, where Xavi posted him during the major part of the 2022/23 campaign.

According to Mirror Sport, Liverpool are looking to take advantage of the situation if the player remains unstable despite his own protests.

Depending on how Barcelona’s Financial Fair Play issues develop over the next few weeks, this deal may still need to be done to keep La Liga happy.

Three additional signings should be made to join Alexis MacAllister for the ideal Liverpool transfer window.
Prior to the season-ending Premier League match at Southampton, Liverpool supporter Nick Sapia of LFC Boston offers his opinion on all the most recent Reds talking points.

Liverpool, which is aware that it cannot finish higher than fifth this year, can nevertheless cap off a challenging season by defeating a Southampton team that has already been relegated.

Before the game, we spoke with Liverpool supporter Nick Sapia from LFC Boston about the Reds, including the next season and what the summer transfer market would bring.

No matter what happens in the games over the weekend, Liverpool will finish fifth. How do we evaluate the entire season?

There is no avoiding it; it has been disappointing. The club was highly erratic generally, although it occasionally displayed flashes of its potential. The season was summed up in the first leg against Real Madrid: they were capable of defeating anyone, but they simply had too many mistakes, mental lapses, and defensive problems to be able to finish off games and produce results.

They undoubtedly found something in the final stretch, which is encouraging for the following season, but coming in fifth and missing out on the Champions League is a tremendous setback.

James Milner and Roberto Firmino’s final game will be this one. Added day of feeling!

Undoubtedly the end of an era. Although last week’s goal was emotional, it was a fitting way for Roberto Firmino to complete his Anfield career. In these recent years, he has been at the epicenter of everything positive that has occurred, smiling the entire while. We will sadly miss the delight with which he plays. Hopefully today’s away end will witness one final “Si Seor” serenade.

Likewise James Milner. He simply performed the team’s needs as they arose. He is simply a true professional who was quite beneficial to have. The thought of playing against him in the upcoming season makes me dreadful!

The Liverpool team will undergo a great deal of upheaval this summer. What do you want the summer to bring?

Three additional signings should be made to join Alexis MacAllister for the ideal Liverpool transfer window.
I’m most eager to put a stop to all the transfer rumors and determine who will be on the team for the upcoming season. First and foremost, I hope they move fast to complete the acquisition of Alexis MacAllister, who will be the pivotal player in the midfield for the upcoming campaign. We’re learning additional details about two other suspected prospects who are probably moving on to other opportunities: Mason Mount and Manuel Ugarte. Whether it’s Ryan Gravenberch or someone else, I believe Liverpool can still entice other desirable targets. Khéphren Thuram is still someone I really want to see in Liverpool.

As they need to ensure they sign midfielders who can play in each of the roles — the attacking midfielder (replacing Henderson), the left-sided midfielder (to rotate with Curtis Jones and Thiago Alcântara), and the defensive midfielder (Fabinho will need rest, and there are questions surrounding Stefan Bajeti given his age), three midfield players in that mold give Liverpool options and flexibility.

The next major need is at center defense, and I’m not sure if they should give the left or right side more priority given how well Andy Robertson has done in the new tactical system. Nevertheless, a left-sided center back would be a welcome addition. Ibou Konaté is essential to the system that enables Trent to go into midfield, but he can’t play in every game, therefore Liverpool needs to have depth there.

What do you envision for the upcoming season? Do you think Liverpool has the best chance of reclaiming the league’s top spot from Manchester City?

Liverpool and Manchester City should resume their regular title-duel rivalry, in my opinion. Liverpool is the only team capable of outlasting City in the limited capacity that it is viable to oppose them. Arsenal had a fantastic season, but it ran out of gas; they won’t reach 90 points. So long as no other side can score 90 points, City and Liverpool are my picks.

Being eliminated from the Champions League is devastating because they always have a chance to win it. However, the Europa League will be competitive and, at the very least, important in providing extra playing time to help a team with several new players gel. Finally, I believe they’ll challenge for the league championship, and I am eager for the new season to begin.
