Liverpool Bishop faces calls to resign amid sexual misconduct allegations.

    John Perumbalath

John Perumbalath, the Bishop of Liverpool, is facing pressure to resign after senior clergy in his diocese stated that his position was no longer viable due to sexual misconduct allegations. His senior leadership team recommended that he step aside from all ministry duties while an investigation is conducted into a sexual harassment claim made by a female bishop, alongside a separate accusation of sexual assault.

The statement from the senior clergy, issued after consultations with local clergy, congregations, and staff, increases the pressure on Perumbalath to reconsider his role. These allegations come just months after the Church of England was rocked by a crisis involving Archbishop Justin Welby’s resignation over a different abuse scandal.

A statement from six senior clergy members on Wednesday evening declared: “Having listened to clergy, congregations, and staff at the diocesan offices and the cathedral, it is with deep regret that the senior leadership of the diocese of Liverpool feel that the position of the Rt Revd Dr John Perumbalath is currently untenable. We believe that the allegations made by the female bishop need to be fully and properly investigated. We also believe that while these proper investigations are conducted, the bishop of Liverpool will need to step aside from all ministry in the diocese of Liverpool.”

This statement followed a Channel 4 News report revealing that two women had come forward with accusations against Perumbalath. One woman claimed he kissed her without consent and groped her, while the female bishop accused him of sexual harassment. Both incidents allegedly occurred in Essex in 2023.

Perumbalath, who assumed the role of bishop in Liverpool in 2023, explained that police had investigated the allegations but did not take further action. He maintained that he did not believe he had done anything wrong, though he acknowledged the importance of “the lessons learnt” through the process.

Perumbalath further stated that he had fully cooperated with an investigation by the national safeguarding team, and the police had concluded their investigation with no further action. “Whilst I don’t believe I have done anything wrong, I have taken seriously the lessons learnt through this process addressing how my actions can be perceived by others,” he said.

    John Perumbalath

The Church of England confirmed that a complaint of misconduct was filed against Perumbalath in 2023, after he formally assumed his position. A spokesperson for the Church said that the National Safeguarding Team (NST) found insufficient evidence to bring a case under the Clergy Discipline Measure (CDM). The complaint was also investigated by the police, who took no further action. The Church offered support to the woman involved.

A second complaint was filed shortly after the first, but the second complainant did not submit a CDM complaint within the one-year deadline. The complainant later sought permission to bring the complaint after the deadline, which was supported by the Archbishop of York but ultimately denied by an independent judge.

“The information brought by the second complainant was explored and assessed not to be a safeguarding matter but a matter of alleged misconduct. Pastoral support has been provided throughout for the second complainant and is ongoing,” the Church spokesperson added.

In related developments, Archbishop of York Stephen Cottrell, who temporarily replaced Justin Welby, has also faced calls to step down following allegations that a priest involved in a sexual abuse case was reappointed twice during Cottrell’s time as Bishop of Chelmsford.

Arne Slot Excludes Loan Transfer for Liverpool Midfielder James McConnell in January Window

    James McConnell

Liverpool manager Arne Slot has dismissed the possibility of James McConnell leaving on loan during the January transfer window. McConnell made his first start in the Champions League against PSV Eindhoven on Wednesday night.

The 20-year-old midfielder was one of the standout players for the Reds, despite their 3-2 loss to the Eredivisie champions. He played the full 90 minutes for the Premier League leaders, who had already secured automatic qualification for the last 16.

McConnell had a breakthrough season with Liverpool’s senior squad last year, making nine appearances under Jurgen Klopp and being part of the team that defeated Chelsea 1-0 to win the Carabao Cup.

Although McConnell was expected to go on loan last summer, he missed most of the first half of Slot’s first season due to injury. He returned last month and has since made three appearances.

Slot revealed that he would meet with sporting director Richard Hughes on Thursday to discuss which players might be loaned out before the window closes, including Jayden Danns, Tyler Morton, and Trey Nyoni.

However, the Dutch manager confirmed that McConnell is still part of his plans for the remainder of the season.

Slot stated: “There’s always a chance in life. At the moment we have most of our players fit, so we will have this discussion tomorrow, me and Richard [Hughes], about these players.”

He continued, “There is definitely one of them that will not go on loan – and I think you know which one I mean. James McConnell. I wouldn’t say definitely, but I liked him a lot today, so maybe now the end result today would be it’d be good for him to go somewhere and play.”

“He was also a player that hasn’t played in the last six or seven months 90 minutes because he was injured for a while. He impressed me a lot today.”

Slot further added: “If I would have been surprised it would mean during training sessions he is not able to play at this level and that’s not the truth, because he is competitive to the ones we have that were not even here.”

“He is always a very competitive player, so I am not surprised but you always wonder how are you going to react on this stage and at this level.”

“We saw the same with Amara Nallo, which is not a player that has the same impact in training sessions yet as James McConnell.”

“That James plays and is competitive is not a surprise but he definitely deserves credit for his performance today.”

PSV 3 – 2 Liverpool: UEFA Champions League Man of the Match

    Federico Chiesa

Liverpool’s heavily rotated squad faced a tough challenge against PSV, who lead the Dutch Eredivisie and needed a victory to boost their chances of advancing. It was always going to be difficult for the Reds to remain organized and competitive in such a situation. Federico Chiesa, the talented Italian forward, was given a rare starting spot, and this match was seen as an opportunity for him to prove to his manager that he could play a significant role in the team’s pursuit of glory.

In a relentless first half, the 27-year-old was all over the pitch, constantly pressuring his defenders and never letting them rest. The opening goal came from a penalty taken by Cody Gakpo, though the penalty itself was earned by Chiesa, who was fouled after tirelessly pressing a defender. As the game swung back and forth, Chiesa also provided a brilliant assist for Harvey Elliott’s goal, putting Liverpool 2-0 up.

Considering the lack of major signings in the summer, the £10m spent to acquire Chiesa from Fiorentina now appears to be a smart investment. With a focus on integrating him carefully, the second half of the season could see a fully fit and rejuvenated forward, once touted as a Ballon d’Or candidate, contribute to Liverpool’s success. Even if Chiesa doesn’t reach those elite levels again, he could still become a hero at Anfield and play a key role in winning silverware.

While the match featured a mix of inexperienced and fringe players, Chiesa played with the intensity of a World Cup final. His boundless energy and determination might see him earn more first-team opportunities in the coming weeks. His versatility and passion are making his appearances count. PSV’s Arne Slot would surely have been impressed by Chiesa’s performance, and with ongoing questions about the fitness of Diogo Jota and the form of Darwin Núñez, the time for this Italian talent to shine at Liverpool could be nearing.

Next up: Bournemouth, where Chiesa could now be a popular choice for a weekend bench appearance.

Arne Slot must unleash key player as Liverpool await crucial answer to big question within 24 hours

In a dramatic 1-1 draw at Nottingham Fores

In a dramatic 1-1 draw at Nottingham Forest, Liverpool had to fight back after an early deficit, and the key to their second-half resurgence came from an inspired double substitution. The importance of Kostas Tsimikas and Diogo Jota‘s first touches in this match may not be fully realized until later in the season, but their impact was clear.

For now, Arne Slot will be left reflecting on several missed opportunities, as Forest goalkeeper Mats Sels was in outstanding form, denying Liverpool a crucial victory. Sels was superb, keeping out efforts from Mohamed Salah, Cody Gakpo, and Jota, while Ola Aina also made a crucial clearance off the line. This resilience from Forest is exactly why they currently sit second in the league, showing their ability to withstand intense pressure from Liverpool’s attacking waves.

Though Forest may not challenge Liverpool for the Premier League title come May, their defense is proving formidable, and a top-four finish looks very attainable, especially with rivals like Chelsea and Manchester City faltering after their own 2-2 draws earlier this week. If Arne Slot truly believes those teams are still title contenders, then no ground was lost here for Liverpool.

In terms of defensive solidity, Forest certainly deserve recognition. Nikola Milenkovic and Murillo were exceptional, exemplifying why Forest have conceded only 20 goals in 21 games—matching Liverpool‘s defensive record. Only Arsenal have conceded fewer.

From the outset, Liverpool controlled the game, dominating possession against a Forest side that opted to sit back rather than press. The hosts were content to invite Liverpool forward and defend deep, but, as in their previous meeting in September, a sharp counterattack caught Liverpool off guard. Chris Wood capitalized on the hosts’ first shot on target, finding the net after just eight minutes.

Reflecting on the team that played in Jurgen Klopp’s first match as Liverpool

Reflecting on the team that played in Jurgen Klopp’s first match as Liverpool manager provides a clear sense of how far the club has come in the past decade.

The goalless draw against Tottenham in October 2015 featured several players who would soon depart. Nathaniel Clyne, Alberto Moreno, and Mamadou Sakho were among those who didn’t last long under Klopp as the German manager took the team to greater heights.

The two substitutes that day also didn’t remain at Liverpool for long, though one of them did bring in a decent fee for the club.

Jordon Ibe was one of those substitutes, coming on for Philippe Coutinho. At the time, the winger was viewed as a promising talent, but his career didn’t pan out as he might have hoped.

Less than a year after that match, Ibe moved to Bournemouth for a reported $19m (£15m) fee, where he spent four years and made 92 appearances. In 2020, he transferred to Derby County but made just one appearance before his contract was mutually terminated after he spoke about dealing with depression.

In January 2022, Ibe joined Turkish club Adanaspor on a three-and-a-half-year deal, but he left the second-tier team after just a few months without making any appearances.

After a year away from football, Ibe returned to play in England’s non-league system, with stints at Ebbsfleet United and Hayes & Yeading United. He has now signed with Hungerford Town, a club in the seventh tier.

The Southern League Premier Division South team confirmed Ibe’s arrival on Tuesday, with the former Liverpool player—now 29—looking to get back to regular play.

“It is an honour to Hungerford Town for taking me in and believing in my dream,” Ibe shared on the club’s website. “It is time to buckle down and show the ability that I still have. With hard work, it can take you anywhere.”

Liverpool.com wishes Ibe the best at Hungerford and hopes he can rediscover his love for the game after a challenging few years. His journey highlights how difficult it can be for players, even those who have played for top clubs and made significant moves.

Arne Slot’s Comments to Gary Lineker on Liverpool’s Transfer Plans

    Gary Lineker

Liverpool fans have been curious about the club’s inactivity in the transfer market. With new manager Arne Slot in charge, there were high hopes for new arrivals. However, so far, the Reds have only secured winger Federico Chiesa and goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili, with the latter yet to join the team.

As the winter transfer window closes without any last-minute signings, Slot has reassured fans that progress is being made behind the scenes. In a conversation with Gary Lineker on the BBC, the Dutch manager outlined the club’s long-term vision.

“We should always be competing for a league title and the Champions League,” Slot remarked. “I know people question why we haven’t done much in the transfer market. But there’s a reason — we’re happy with the squad.”

Despite the quiet window, Slot confirmed that Liverpool is already planning for the summer transfer window. “I do know in the background, we are definitely working on strengthening in the summer,” he said.

For now, his focus remains on maintaining the team’s top-level performance. Slot is confident that if the players continue to work hard, Liverpool will be in contention for every trophy.

So far, the team’s performance has proven his point. They currently lead the Premier League by six points, with a game in hand over Arsenal, having won 16 out of 22 league matches and scored 54 goals.

Liverpool are also excelling in the Champions League, having won all seven of their group-stage matches. With the Carabao Cup final on the horizon, Slot’s first season as manager could see multiple trophies.

Liverpool’s Champions League squad revealed with 12 players absent for PSV Eindhoven clash

Liverpool have announced their squad for the final group-stage Champions League match against PSV Eindhoven on Wednesday evening.

The Reds have left several regular first-team players behind, traveling with a much-changed squad to the Netherlands for the final match in the opening stage. Manager Arne Slot will be without 12 senior players, as Liverpool have already secured their spot in the last 16.

Key players such as captain Virgil van Dijk, vice-captain Trent Alexander-Arnold, top scorer Mohamed Salah, goalkeeper Alisson Becker, defender Ibrahima Konate, midfielders Ryan Gravenberch, Alexis Mac Allister, and Dominik Szoboszlai, and forward Luis Diaz have all been omitted from the 21-man matchday squad.

Joe Gomez, despite returning to training earlier on Tuesday, has also not traveled, while Diogo Jota and Curtis Jones are missing due to injuries.

With Liverpool already assured of finishing in the top two in the group, the team will have a different look for the match at the Philips Stadion. A point is enough for Liverpool to secure the top spot, though the difference between first and second place is minimal concerning the draw for the last 16.

The absences of many key players present an opportunity for younger talents to make an impression. Midfielders Tyler Morton, Trey Nyoni, and James McConnell, as well as striker Jayden Danns, will be joined by goalkeeper Harvey Davies, defenders Isaac Mabaya, Amara Nallo, and James Norris, midfielder Kieran Morrison, and forward Trent Kone-Doherty.

However, 16-year-old Rio Ngumoha, who recently became the youngest player to start a match for Liverpool in the FA Cup against Accrington Stanley, is ineligible for the Champions League.

Liverpool Squad v PSV Eindhoven: Kelleher, Jaros, Davies, Bradley, Mabaya, Quansah, Nallo, Robertson, Tsimikas, Norris, Endo, McConnell, Morton, Nyoni, Elliott, Morrison, Nunez, Chiesa, Gakpo, Danns, Kone-Doherty.

Mohamed Salah's contract preference revealed after reaction from Liverpool teammate

Mohamed Salah and Curtis Jones played a key role in Liverpool’s 1-0 win over Lille, a result that helped Arne Slot’s team secure their place in the Champions League knockout stage ahead of schedule.

Earlier in the week, Curtis Jones had sparked some debate by stating that at his peak, Eden Hazard was a better player than Mohamed Salah. However, Jones quickly clarified that he would still prefer Salah as a teammate. This sentiment was exemplified 11 minutes before half-time during a chilly home match against Lille, Hazard’s former club, when Jones set up Salah for the opening goal in a previously uneventful game.

After Kostas Tsimikas dispossessed Jonathan David in Liverpool’s half, the ball was passed from Ryan Gravenberch to Jones. Seeing Salah sprinting forward, Jones delivered a perfect pass, allowing Salah to take the ball forward and finish neatly into the top corner.

Salah celebrated in his usual manner, sitting on an Anfield Road Stand advertising hoarding with arms outstretched, before being joined by Jones, who pointedly gestured to the pitch as a sign of support for his teammate amidst ongoing contract talks.

For Salah, it marked the end of a rare goal drought, having not scored in three games. The goal, his 50th in European competition for Liverpool, also brought his tally for the season to 22. However, Jones’ night ended early after he suffered a knock before half-time and did not return for the second half.

Liverpool’s dominance in the new-look Champions League group stage is evident, with this being their seventh win out of seven. While the victory over Lille is viewed as routine, it’s worth noting that Lille, who had previously beaten Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid, were unbeaten since September and had proven difficult to break down.

Barcelona’s dramatic 5-4 win over Benfica means that Arne Slot’s side must still secure a result next week at PSV Eindhoven to claim top spot. Few, however, could have predicted how well Liverpool have adapted since their return to Europe’s elite competition.

Federico Chiesa has been considered a potential

Federico Chiesa has been considered a potential replacement for Mohamed Salah at Liverpool if the Egyptian forward departs this summer.

Roberto Di Matteo, a former Italy international, believes Chiesa possesses the skill to make a significant impact at Anfield, provided he can maintain his fitness.

Liverpool acquired Chiesa from Juventus in the summer of 2024 for a relatively low £10 million, which many saw as a bargain. However, the 27-year-old’s time at Liverpool has been hindered by injuries.

So far, Chiesa has only made eight appearances and hasn’t yet started a Premier League match. Speculation about a return to Italy emerged in January, but Chiesa remained with Liverpool.

    Roberto Di Matteo Discusses Chiesa

In an interview with GOAL in collaboration with BetMGM, Di Matteo shared his opinion on Chiesa’s future at Liverpool.

“I definitely think he can be a success. He is one of the best Italian players. His only downfall has been injuries,” Di Matteo stated.

He also praised Liverpool for their decision to sign Chiesa, believing the player still has the potential to prove himself.

“I can see why Liverpool would sign him. It’s a fantastic club, always challenging for the Premier League and Champions League. It’s not easy to break into the team with Mo Salah and Luis Diaz ahead of him, but I think he will be an asset in the second half of the season,” Di Matteo added.

With Salah’s contract nearing its end, Liverpool may soon need a new star on the right wing. When asked if Chiesa could step into Salah’s role, Di Matteo acknowledged it would be a tough task.

“Who can fill Mo Salah’s void? That’s a big ask. His numbers are staggering. I’m not sure Chiesa can fill his shoes, but he can contribute a lot to the team,” he said.

Chiesa recently scored his first goal for Liverpool in an FA Cup victory over Accrington Stanley. He has since made three additional appearances as a substitute and is hoping to play a more prominent role in the upcoming months.

Liverpool set to complete Anis Hadj Moussa’s summer transfer

    Anis Hadj Moussa's

Liverpool is reportedly interested in signing 22-year-old Algerian international Anis Hadj Moussa from Feyenoord for €12 million in the upcoming summer transfer window.

According to Africa Foot, the Reds are keen on adding a wide attacker to their squad, given the uncertainty surrounding Mohamed Salah’s long-term future at the club. As a result, Liverpool plans to complete the transfer for Moussa, with a deal expected to be worth €12 million when the summer window opens.

    Who is Anis Hadj Moussa?

Anis Hadj Moussa is regarded as one of the brightest young attacking talents globally, although his output has been limited so far. Born in Paris, Moussa’s youth career took him through the academies of three French clubs before he graduated from RC Lens’ youth system.

However, it was in Belgium and the Netherlands where the 22-year-old truly made a name for himself. Since joining Feyenoord from Patro Eisden in the summer, Moussa has made significant strides, contributing six goals and two assists in 22 appearances across all competitions this season.

Moussa’s development has not gone unnoticed, drawing the attention of several top clubs around Europe. Premier League teams, in particular, are eager to secure the services of the Algerian, with Liverpool being one of the frontrunners for his signature ahead of the summer transfer window.

Premier League move on the horizon?

Liverpool’s interest in Moussa makes sense, especially with the ongoing doubts about Mohamed Salah’s future. The Egyptian forward has hinted that the 2024/25 season could be his final one with the club. While Liverpool cannot afford to lose Salah, they need to plan for the future.

As a result, Moussa has become a realistic target, with Africa Foot reporting that Liverpool is set to finalize a €12 million deal to bring the winger to Anfield in the summer.

Though Moussa may not immediately replace Salah, he has the potential to develop into a key player for Liverpool. It will be intriguing to see if the transfer of the Algerian international materializes.

Stefan Bajcetic transfer news: Liverpool youngster may receive new opportunity

Liverpool midfielder Stefan Bajcetic's loan situation at RB Salzburg

Liverpool midfielder Stefan Bajcetic’s loan situation at RB Salzburg has sparked considerable debate, with contrasting reports regarding his future.

Merseyside sources maintain that the 20-year-old will not be recalled, but recent reports from Spain suggest otherwise. Bajcetic, who has struggled for playing time under new Salzburg head coach Thomas Letsch following the departure of former Reds coach Pep Lijnders, has been linked with a potential move to La Liga.

Spanish clubs, including Real Betis, Celta Vigo, and most recently Las Palmas, are reportedly interested, with Tenerife-based outlet Atlantico Hoy stating that the latter is nearing an agreement.

Despite earlier reports indicating that Liverpool might end Bajcetic’s Salzburg loan in favor of a move to Spain, The Athletic’s James Pearce has dismissed this idea, affirming that the Reds are content with Bajcetic’s development in Austria.

Nonetheless, there are lingering questions about Bajcetic’s future. It is believed that the 20-year-old’s playing style may align more closely with Jurgen Klopp’s tactics than with the system employed by Arne Slot at Anfield, fueling speculation that his long-term future could lie elsewhere.

Liverpool is expected to see considerable activity in the final week of the transfer window, particularly with outgoing transfers for their younger players.

While Bajcetic’s immediate future appears set with at least another half-season at Salzburg, other emerging talents may be on the move, either temporarily or permanently, to further their development.

Tyler Morton, for example, could be allowed to leave, with potential loan moves also on the cards for Kaide Gordon, James Norris, James Balagizi, Dominic Corness, and Harvey Davies.

Liverpool has already made several adjustments to their youth setup this month. Gordon, Calvin Ramsay, and Marcelo Pitaluga were recalled from their loans, with Ramsay quickly rejoining Kilmarnock on another loan and Pitaluga returning to Brazil to reconnect with former club Fluminense. Additionally, midfielder Tom Hill has completed a free transfer to League Two side Harrogate Town.

Virgil van Dijk reached a significant achievement on Saturday, making his 300th appearance for Liverpool during their 4–1 victory over Ipswich at Anfield.

With this milestone, the defender now holds the record for the most wins in all competitions by any player in the club’s history after reaching 300 appearances, with the win over Ipswich marking his 209th victory in a Liverpool shirt.

Liverpool players with the best win percentage after reaching 300 appearances

The 33-year-old joined the club in January 2018, moving from Southampton for £75 million, and has since secured seven major titles, including the 2019 Champions League and the 2020 Premier League title, which was Liverpool’s first top-flight title in 30 years. He also won the PFA Players’ Player of the Year in the 2018–19 season and was a close second to Lionel Messi in the 2019 Ballon d’Or voting.

Van Dijk has been crucial to Liverpool’s strong performance this season under new manager Arne Slot, with the team currently leading the Premier League, six points clear of Arsenal with a game in hand. The club has also won all seven of their Champions League matches this campaign, advancing to the round of 16 with a game to spare.

Despite his key role, his future at Liverpool remains uncertain, as his contract expires this summer and no extension has yet been agreed.

After the 4–1 victory against Ipswich, van Dijk shared his thoughts: “There will be a day one day when I reflect on everything that’s happened to me at Liverpool. Then I’ll have a proper think about what stands out.” He added, “Hopefully there are still good things to come. I have no idea (how many more appearances I’ll make). How many left this season? Hopefully, those are guaranteed and then I don’t know what the future will bring.”

Keith Wyness responds to shocking Liverpool news – ‘big loss’

Keith Wyness, former chief of Everton, has stated that Liverpool is poised to announce a “big loss” financially, but they are expected to recover quickly this season.

In a recent appearance on Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Wyness, who was the CEO at Goodison Park from 2004 to 2009 and now runs a consultancy for elite football clubs, suggested that this financial setback could explain Liverpool’s lack of transfer activity.

As reported by the Liverpool Echo on January 7, the Reds are expected to reveal a “heavy loss” when they release their financial report for the 2023-24 season at the end of February. However, it is anticipated that the loss will be “tens of millions” lower than the £100 million figure that has been mentioned in other reports.

Liverpool had to contend without Champions League football last season, and this has had a financial impact despite their success in winning the League Cup. Under Premier League Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR), clubs can only lose £105 million over a three-season period.

Wyness shared his insights on the podcast: “I’ve seen the numbers reported, and it will be a big loss. It does explain, to a degree, why they’ve been so patient with the three players out of contract. If any one of those three players left, it would be a big expense to find a replacement. It may well be that they’ve been holding on and trying to get those contracts resolved.”

He added, “These losses are also the reason they haven’t had any bumper spending on transfers in recent years. It does look like they will have a bumper year in 24/25. There’s the Champions League, FA Cup, Premier League – it could be a bumper season. That sort of loss could be erased this season. It will be a big loss, but the squad is performing. What more can you ask?”

Napoli has reportedly entered the race to sign Darwin Nunez, with Spanish outlet Fichajes calling the Italian club a “strong candidate” to secure his signature before the transfer window closes. Nunez has been linked with a move away from Anfield since January, with some reports indicating interest from Saudi Arabia.

This latest update suggests several European clubs are also pursuing him, with Napoli manager Antonio Conte seeing Nunez as the ideal addition to his squad. The Serie A leaders are reportedly “willing to make a significant financial effort” to land the 25-year-old, though it’s claimed Liverpool will be firm in negotiations.

Liverpool.com notes: There’s no way Liverpool would allow Nunez to leave this month, especially with Diogo Jota injured again. Although Slot may not yet be fully convinced by Nunez—evidenced by his benching against Ipswich—it would be risky to offload him mid-season while pushing for a title, unless Liverpool has a replacement lined up.

    Antoine Semenyo (Bournemouth)
Arsenal is said to have entered the race for Antoine Semenyo, with the Bournemouth winger previously linked to Liverpool as a potential Mohamed Salah replacement. According to Caught Offside, Arsenal has added Semenyo to their list as a backup option for Bukayo Saka, who is sidelined after hamstring surgery. Liverpool is also said to have expressed interest, with Chelsea, Tottenham, and Newcastle reportedly keeping an eye on the situation.

Liverpool.com adds: It’s no surprise that there’s significant interest in Semenyo, given his impressive performances this season. However, it would be a surprise if either Liverpool or Arsenal made a move for him before the January window closes.
