The most recent transfer rumours from Liverpool indicate that 21-year-old Tyler Morton is drawing attention from across the continent for the summer.

According to reports, RB Leipzig and other European teams are interested in signing Tyler Morton, a midfield player for Liverpool, on a permanent summer transfer.

Morton, 21, a Wirral native, joined the Reds academy at the age of seven and appeared in nine first-team games under Jurgen Klopp. The last was in March 2022 and as roads into a regular starting berth are often restricted at Anfield, he has exploited Championship loans to get the majority of his senior experience to far.

His first term away from the club was with Blackburn Rovers, turning out 46 times for the Lancashire club, then last season he enjoyed playing a crucial position in the engine room of Liam Rosenior’s Hull City side, who nearly lost out on the play-offs. The Liverpool loanee’s achievements were rewarded when he scooped up the division’s young player of the month award in December.

Under new head coach Arne Slot, Morton is scheduled to return to Merseyside for preseason training. However, The Times reports that he may be traded soon after, as many prominent teams are reportedly interested in signing him to a long-term contract this summer.

Leading the charge is RB Leipzig, who have experience doing business with Anfield executives. The two teams worked out a £60 million deal for Dominik Szoboszlai last summer, and then they had a less than ideal loan experience with Fabio Carvalho.

Along with unidentified Premier League rivals, the article claims clubs “the calibre of Sevilla, Feyenoord, Eintracht Frankfurt” are also interested in the midfield player.

It is reported ‘nearly every’ Championship club would like to take Morton on loan for the season ahead also, yet it is now the player’s wish to advance his career at the next level. He last renewed his Liverpool contract in January 2023, and his exit is believed to hinge on the club’s evaluation of valuation, Slot’s perceptions once pre-season training is begun and lastly Morton’s own plans.

Liverpool’s Joe Gomez position as Bayern Munich manager Vincent Kompany considers a transfer raid

Joe Gomez

Vincent Kompany wants Joe Gomez to join Bayern Munich. Liverpool is understood to have a defined transfer strategy ahead of the window’s opening on Saturday.

Liverpool plans to take a tough position on Joe Gomez this summer. It comes amid reports of transfer interest from Bayern Munich, who are now led by Vincent Kompany.

Gomez had a good final season under Jurgen Klopp, playing the most minutes in a single season since joining Virgil van Dijk in the title-winning defence. However, he had to be a jack of all trades, featuring on the defence line and even in midfield. His adaptability has earned him a call-up to the England squad for the Euros.

It might also be beneficial to incoming manager Arne Slot; however, with Gomez still not first choice at any position, interest from Bayern Munich will force a decision.

Liverpool is prepared to make that decision for everyone else. According to the Mirror, the club considers Gomez one of its most valued players and is planning to deliver a ‘strong hands-off warning’.

Joe Gomez

It is expected that he will be a key player under Slot. Whether this means he’s expected to compete for a starting spot remains to be seen, but Liverpool probably believes it will be hard to obtain comparable high-level defensive depth for the money Kompany and Bayern are willing to spend.

Barring a spectacular U-turn by Liverpool, Bayern Munich will have to search elsewhere. It is apparently interested in Bayer Leverkusen’s Jonathan Tah.

Liverpool shares Kompany’s admiration for Chelsea’s Levi Colwill. But both are likely to be disappointed, as the Blues are once again unwilling to move the defender.

According to Liverpool.com: Liverpool has taken a totally logical attitude. A huge offer could put it to the test, but unless something amazing comes up, it makes no sense to deprive Slot of such a valuable squad member.

The other variable is Gomez’s personal position. He was likely content with the minutes he received last season, but he may still be looking for a starting role someplace, especially if he prefers to play center-back in the future.

Hopefully, he will be satisfied to continue playing a key part for Liverpool. It has just been made quite obvious how highly the club regards him, and with any luck, it is reasonable to expect Gomez to play a significant role under Slot.
