With a new manager at Liverpool, Fabio Carvalho is excited for a “fresh start” and hopes to make an impression in preseason.
Carvalho’s future appeared assured when he went on loan to RB Leipzig and then, following a fruitless stay in Germany, moved to Hull in the Championship.
But several players in the team will surely adopt a different attitude as Jurgen Klopp leaves his position as manager of Liverpool at the end of the campaign.
Arne Slot is expected to take over as head coach. Prior to the announcement of the Dutchman’s impending appointment, Carvalho gave an overview of his expectations for the upcoming campaign in an interview with the Liverpool Echo.
In my opinion, it’s a new beginning. Not only for me, of course, but for everyone who enters,” he clarified.
For me and others like Tyler [Morton], it will be a fresh start. All we can do is take the risks that present themselves. Take it with both hands and give it a firm grip.
“I’ve talked to Tyler about the summer. particularly in light of the revelation regarding Jurgen.
We just had a conversation regarding possible changes to the club.
In the end, we are both starting over. With everything to gain and nothing to lose, we’ll just head back there.
Carvalho’s 360 minutes on the pitch and three starts during his tenure at Leipzig were disappointing for everyone parties, but his transfer to Hull has been a revelation.
In 19 appearances thus far, all of which have been starts, the 21-year-old has scored nine goals and provided two assists. He is particularly effective in a more central role as a false nine.
Carvalho’s attention will first be on Saturday’s trip to Plymouth before turning his attention to Liverpool as Hull looks to secure a spot in the promotion playoffs on the last day of the Championship.
“I want to make it into the starting lineup and into the Liverpool first team, of course,” he added.
“I’m currently concentrating on Hull City and getting promoted.
“I’m going to wait and see how the preseason plays out before we decide on my future.”
“At Liverpool, there have been some highs and some lows,” he continued. It has required some learning.
“It all comes down to improving and learning. We have the coaches, the facilities, and the players from whom I can learn.
“I’m simply eager for what lies ahead. It hasn’t been perfect [so far], but depending on your perspective, it might be a good thing. It can only get better.
