Chukwuemeka was immediately given medical attention after colliding with Emerson Palmieri and falling to the ground while holding his left knee.

Several staff members assisted the England Under-20 player as he left the field; he later came to be seen leaving the London Stadium on crutches.

He eventually had surgery after several scans, then started a specialized rehabilitation program.

About six weeks later, Chukwuemeka is back at Cobham for first-team training, and it’s safe to say that his teammates have missed him.

One of the highlights of Chelsea’s early games, especially against Liverpool, and it will only get better once he forms a partnership with Caicedo. LM: Ben Chilwell – While Gusto and Chilwell can perform more like full-backs at times, their forward roles will make them wingers when Chelsea are in possession. Chilwell was incredibly forward in his opening matches and it showed the qualities of him on the left wing.

AM: Raheem Sterling – Chelsea’s best player ever against West Ham and looked back at the electric best of him. Pochettino seems to have the better of the former Manchester City.

AM: Mykhailo Mudryk – He came on after Carney Cukwuemeka’s injury against West Ham and could be offered his first start of the season. Mudryk still looks a bit lost in the Premier League but has shown flashes of his qualities.

ST: Nicolas Jackson – The striker has already proven himself to be an absolute handful for opposition defenders but he needs to add a bigger end product.

Chelsea has added another player from Brighton & Hove Albion, but it’s not the one we had been waiting for all summer. Unless, of course, Robert Sanchez has Moisés Caicedo hidden away in one of his suitcases.

With the exception of that unlikely ploy, only Sánchez is arriving today, serving as Kepa Arrizabalaga’s primary competition and primary backup. In light of that mission statement, the most recent £25 million (well, £20 + 5 million) care package we sent to Brighton seems quite kind. Again.

Sánchez, who joined the Seagulls’ youth program at age 15 and later made his way up to the team, has now committed to the Blues for seven years.

Sánchez, who is only 25 years old, has plenty of room to mature and advance, and reuniting him with Ben Roberts, his former goalkeeper coach at Brighton, should help in that regard as well. Under the new head coach Roberto De Zerbi, Sánchez had lost his spot on the team the previous year, despite the fact that he had previously been highly regarded and had a rising reputation. He has two appearances under his belt for Spain.

After Axel Disasi’s announcement, Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino may spend an additional £159 million.

Even though the addition of Axel Disasi will push Chelsea’s transfer expenditures well past the £100 million mark, Mauricio Pochettino may go broke between now and the end of the summer.
